Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

It wouldn't have made sense for Boston to sign Perkins to a too-big contract, I completely get that.

Green's in his 4th year. Does OKC's right to make a qualifying offer transfer to Boston? If so, then Green's locked up for next year, and things make a little more sense in the context of Boston's 2-year window with its veterans.

Green is a free agent next year as far as I believe.

Actually, I'm very happy Perk's out of the East. Thanks!

OKC is filled with defensive bigs who can's score for shit (Perkins, Ibaka, Mohammed, Collison, etc)

Ibaka can score just fine at the PF spot. He just never got to play but limited minutes there as he has a mid that is money

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

It just doesn't make much sense at all. Obviously they feel Delonte can handle nate's duties which is fine. but why trade Perk, he has never lost a playoff series when the starting 5 was all healthy. You need to hope your centers stay healthy because Shaq and JO havent been healthy at all. Jeff Green and kristic have little playoff experience and won't help them win right now.

Nate is garbage. He doesn't work with this team (any team?) at all. I hate that they panicked and locked him up last summer. Delonte can do what Boston actually wants from a backup 1. Of course I have to hope for the big men to stay healthy, but you have to admit Boston was a lot more ready for Perkins' absence this year than last. They have a number of guys. Erden and Krstic aren't much more than bodies, but all they need are bodies. Shaq can give them some scoring (and he'll be extremely well-rested and healthy for the playoffs). JO would be a bonus.

You're not going to go to him if you need to score, is what I mean. I dunno, they still need a true inside force.

Trading Perk was a roll of the dice, considering the injuries in Boston's front-court this season.

Gerald Wallace to Portland (Woj)
Portland will send Joel Przybilla and a 2nd round draft pick to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace, source says

MJ played chicken and lost because he is trying to cut costs

If Green's a free agent, and this was a lateral 'starting C for backup PF and backup C' deal, I don't get it yet.

The main question to me is does Sheed comeback or Murphy sign after a buyout?

That is why Phil described him as a horrible gambler in Sacred Hoops. He said the guy who he see in games is the exact opposite gambling because he gets to sweating and fidgeting.

Great deal for Indiana as DC and Mayo should be great together

Murphy does what Green does, so he's unnecessary. I'd like to see them find (another) bargain-basement C to add to the pile.
