Hey D'Z, remember when you had the JaMarcus Russell days and getting top 5 lottery picks and people told you there was no hope for your sports teams? About that...

And soon the Warriors will be in San Fransisco and the Raiders will be god knows where

I don't think there has ever been a more grateful fan than I am. Certainly not taking this for granted or even the signs of Raiders competence for that matter

Wouldn't be the end of the world. I don't think the Rams/Chargers will allow it though. We didn't have ownership support. I think Vegas is a potentially realistic option

Is there any doubt the nba championship is all but determined in the western conference finals? It's gonna be the spurs or the warriors.

Russell Westbrook is my mvp this year

lol no way you can think Russ is MVP over Steph dude. Russ isn't even MVP of the Thunder IMO.

1.) Steph
--
2.) Kawhi
3.) Bron
4.) CP
5.) Durant

that'd be my MVP ballot

I don't follow basketball too much, but I do like respect how the Warriors seem to step up their game every time people start to doubt them. Kept reading how Spurs would beat them, how they will choke the record, how they got lucky in the playoffs/Finals last season, how they're going to get worn out etc. It's one of those trait great players and teams tend to have.

I know ppl don't like to admit it because Westbrook was never supposed to be better than Durant, but he is. Durant knows it

"We had something on that pick and roll," Durant told reporters after the game. "And we spaced the floor and we let our best player, Russell [Westbrook] just control the game."

The westbrook effect is so vital to okc, they average 20 less when he's not on the court.

16 triple doubles is rare. Westbrook that dude on the thunder and if he is not 1 he is most certainly 2 in mvp

Slash Line: .454/.297/.811

Season Averages: 34.5 MPG, 23.7 PPG, 10.4 APG, 7.7 RPG, 2.0 SPG, 1.3 3PM

Russell Westbrook is doing things that very few players in NBA history have ever done. Those who rival Westbrook’s current level of play include the likes of Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Oscar Robertson.

For those who believe there to be a hint of hyperbole in that statement, start with the fact that Westbrook has 16 triple-doubles in 2015-16—the most by any player since Johnson had 17 in 1988-89.
For what it’s worth, Johnson won MVP in 1988-89, and Los Angeles did not have the best record in the NBA—Isiah Thomas‘ Detroit Pistons did at 63-19.

According to Basketball-Reference.com, Westbrook is on pace to be the first player in NBA history to average at least 20.0 points, 10.0 assists, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals. Steals were introduced as an official statistic in 1973-74, which admittedly keeps Robertson off of the list.

Having a sample size of nearly 45 years is simply impossible to label as inadequate.

Take away the steals and Westbrook would be the first player to average at least 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 7.5 rebounds since Johnson in 1988-89. Before Johnson and Westbrook, it hadn’t been done since Robertson achieved the statistical marks in 1965-66.

Catching Stephen Curry seems impossible, but Westbrook has quite the case to make for NBA MVP.

Steph wins mvp but warriors are so damn stacked I look at a guy who leads his team to wins and if removed would be meh. Warriors go off, good luck against spurs dawg

Great night for the NBA. Warriors break the record and Kobe's final game.

Now I hope the 76ers can get the #1 and start to turn things around.

I'm from TWF, there the NBA discussion was very unactive and this looks at least some what more active than that.
And what a night it was last night. My favorite team of this era, the Warriors beating the winning record set by my favorite team ever, and an inspiration that Kobe Bryant has been in my childhood ending his career with 60 points
