Nascar International Series Preview: Part Four

Oceania Leg (Races 8 & 9)

The NASCAR International Series (NIS) heads to Oceania for two high-intensity races in Australia and New Zealand. These events will challenge drivers with two vastly different styles of racing: a superspeedway-style paved oval & a grueling 500-lap dirt track endurance race.

Round 8: Calder Park Thunderdome (Australia)

Date: August 4, 2025
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Track Type: Paved Oval (High-Banked Superspeedway)
Length: 1.1 miles (1.77 km)
Race Format: 250 laps (~275 miles / 442 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

Calder_Park_%28Australia%29_track_map--Thunderdome_Speedway.svg

Key Challenge: Calder Park is Australia’s only NASCAR-style superspeedway, featuring high speeds, pack racing, and intense drafting battles.

Supercars Fans Will Love This Race: Calder Park was once home to AUSCAR & NASCAR races in the 90s, and now it’s back with international stock cars.
Drafting & Pack Racing: Similar to Talladega or Daytona, drivers will have to stay in the pack to maintain speed.
Danger of the "Big One": A multi-car wreck could shake up the points standings, with only the top 8 finishers scoring points.

Round 9: Western Springs Speedway (New Zealand)

Date: August 18, 2025
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Track Type: Dirt Oval
Length: 1/4 mile (0.4 km)
Race Format: 500 Laps (~125 miles / 200 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus:
+2 points

images

Key Challenge: Western Springs is a legendary dirt track, but the 500-lap format turns this into an endurance test unlike anything else in NIS.

Most Laps of the Season: At 500 laps, this will be a physical and mental battle that tests drivers’ stamina.
Dirt Racing Experts Have the Advantage: Former dirt track drivers like Hailee Deegan (Monster Energy Racing) and Clint Bowyer (AM Racing) could shine.
Track Position is Everything
: Unlike paved ovals, dirt tracks require constant car control, and starting up front is a huge advantage.
Lap Traffic Will Be Chaos: With such a short track, the leaders will constantly be lapping backmarkers, making racecraft and patience key.

A total of three teams who are currently use Chevrolet Camaro in other NASCAR Series, will each put out one car during the NIS this season. They have all confirmed they will make comments with the media at an arranged date in the future, and at this time will not be answering any questions from the press.

Nascar International Series Preview: Part Five

Europe Leg (Races 10-14, Season Finale)
After racing across four continents, the NASCAR International Series (NIS) arrives in Europe for its final five races, culminating in a dramatic oval finale at Lausitzring (Germany). This leg features a mix of high-speed ovals and legendary road courses, providing a true test of a well-rounded champion.

Round 10: Rockingham Motor Speedway (UK)

Date: September 1, 2025
Location: Corby, England
Track Type: Paved Oval
Length: 1.5 miles (2.41 km)
Race Format: 200 laps (~300 miles / 482 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

RockinghamOval.png

Key Challenge: The only oval track in the UK, Rockingham features progressive banking and high-speed corners, creating a mix of drafting and technical cornering.
Aero Dependence is Key: Unlike short tracks, Rockingham relies on downforce and high-speed stability.
Tire Management vs. Aggression: Overdriving corners can wear out tires quickly, forcing teams to find a balance.

Round 11: Venray Raceway (Netherlands)

Date: September 15, 2025
Location: Venray, Netherlands
Track Type: Paved Oval
Length: ½ mile (0.8 km)
Race Format: 300 laps (~150 miles / 241 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

Raceway_Venray.svg

Key Challenge: This high-banked short oval races more like a combination of Bristol and Martinsville, requiring aggression and smart positioning.

Expect Bumper-to-Bumper Action: With short straights and high banking, drivers will be racing nose-to-tail all day.
Survival Mode: With only 8 drivers scoring points, avoiding trouble will be crucial.
Potential for an Underdog Winner: Tough, aggressive drivers with short-track skills could take advantage here.

= + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + =

Round 12: Imola (Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Italy)

Date: September 29, 2025
Location: Imola, Italy
Track Type: Road Course
Length: 3.05 miles (4.9 km)
Race Format: 35 laps (~107 miles / 172 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

Imola-Autodromo-2021.png

Key Challenge: Imola is a fast but technical track with demanding corners and tight chicanes, forcing drivers to stay error-free.
The Ultimate Road Course Test: Unlike flowing tracks like Sepang, Imola requires heavy braking, quick reactions and precision.

Key Championship Race: With only two races left after this, contenders must perform well here to stay in the hunt.

= + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + =

Round 13: Circuit de Navarra (Spain)

Date: October 13, 2025
Location: Los Arcos, Spain
Track Type: Road Course
Length: 2.5 miles (4.0 km)
Race Format: 40 laps (~100 miles / 161 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

Navarrafullp1.png

Key Challenge: Navarra is a modern road course with a mix of fast corners, elevation changes, and tight technical sections.

A Chance to Shake Up the Championship: With only one race left after this, a strong result could make or break a title bid.
Cars with Good Mechanical Grip Will Excel: Teams must focus on suspension setup and handling.

= + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + = + =

Round 14 (Season Finale): Lausitzring (Germany)

Date: October 27, 2025
Location: Klettwitz, Germany
Track Type: Paved Oval
Length: 2.0 miles (3.22 km)
Race Format: 250 laps (~500 miles / 804 km)
Fastest Qualifier Bonus: +2 points

Eurospeedway-Lausitz-Oval-00.png

Key Challenge: A superspeedway-style oval, Lausitzring is the biggest track of the European leg, making drafting, fuel strategy, and teamwork crucial.

Pack Racing & Fuel Strategy: This race could come down to a fuel-mileage battle in the closing laps.
Championship Decider: With no playoffs, this race will crown the first-ever NIS champion.

Nascar International Series Preview: Part Six

images

Chevrolet's NASCAR International Series Press Conference at HQ
At Chevrolet Headquarters, a major press conference was held featuring the three Chevrolet-backed teams entering the 2025 NASCAR International Series (NIS):

- Richard Childress Racing (RCR) - Team Principal: Danica Patrick | #26 Jeffrey Earnhardt

- Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) - Team Principal: Brandon Blaze, Sr. | #1 Brandon Blaze

- Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) - Team Principal: Ricky Craven | #5 Bobby Rey

With three powerhouse teams and a mix of veteran leadership and new talent, Chevrolet is looking to take the fight to Toyota, BMW, and Audi in the first-ever global NASCAR championship.

Danica Patrick (Team Principal, RCR) on Chevrolet’s NIS Goals
"This is a huge moment for Chevrolet. NASCAR has always been dominated by American manufacturers, but now we’re taking that to the international level. We’ve got three strong teams representing us, and we’re here to win races. RCR has always been about legacy, and Jeffrey Earnhardt is carrying that tradition forward in the #26. I think he’s ready to make a name for himself globally."

✅ RCR Focused on Legacy & Performance – With Jeffrey Earnhardt driving the #26, RCR aims to build on the Earnhardt name while making a global impact.
✅ Danica Leading the Charge – As the only female team principal in NIS, Patrick brings experience, media appeal, and a bold leadership style.
✅ Oval Strengths – RCR has historically been strong on ovals, which could give them an edge at Monterrey, Rafaela, and Lausitzring.

* * *

️ Brandon Blaze, Sr. (Team Principal, CGR) on His Son’s Championship Hopes
"I’ve been around racing my entire life, and I can tell you one thing—Brandon is ready for this. He’s got speed, he’s got racecraft, and he’s got the fire to go out there and win. Chip Ganassi Racing doesn’t show up just to participate—we’re here to compete, and if people are underestimating Chevrolet, that’s a mistake."

✅ Brandon Blaze (Jr.) Seen as a Title Contender – One of the most hyped young drivers in the series, his aggressive style makes him a potential star.
✅ CGR’s Racing Mentality – Ganassi’s teams have always been competitive in multiple disciplines (IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR), meaning they know how to win internationally.
✅ High Expectations – Blaze Sr. made it clear that they aren’t just here to develop talent—they want the championship.

* * *

Ricky Craven (Team Principal, Hendrick Motorsports) on Bobby Rey’s Potential
"The world’s about to see what Bobby Rey can do. Hendrick Motorsports is the most successful team in NASCAR history, and we plan to continue that legacy in the International Series. Bobby is young, but he’s got the raw talent to fight for wins. We’ll get him the best equipment, and the results will follow."

✅ Hendrick's Legacy in NASCAR Expands Globally – HMS has been dominant in the Cup Series; now, they’re aiming for international success.
✅ Bobby Rey’s Potential – A rising star, Rey has raw speed but still needs refinement, making his development a key storyline.
✅ Multi-Year Plan – Unlike CGR, which is focused on immediate success, HMS seems to be building toward long-term dominance.

+ + + + + +

Final Takeaways from Chevrolet’s Press Conference
RCR, CGR, and HMS are the official Chevrolet teams in NIS, with Danica Patrick, Brandon Blaze Sr., and Ricky Craven leading them. Each team has a different approach:
- RCR (Patrick & Earnhardt) focuses on legacy & consistency.
- CGR (Blaze Sr. & Blaze Jr.) wants to win immediately.
- HMS (Craven & Rey) is developing for the long term.

Chevrolet enters NIS with a strong mix of youth and experience, aiming to compete with Toyota, BMW, and Audi on the international stage.

McLaren Confirms It Will Operate as a British Sub-Division of Chevrolet in NIS
McLaren has officially clarified its status in the 2025 NASCAR International Series (NIS), confirming that despite being powered by Chevrolet, they will operate as a British sub-division of the manufacturer, rather than working directly alongside RCR, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Hendrick Motorsports.

This announcement reinforces McLaren's independent approach, as they seek to carve out their own identity in stock car racing while still benefiting from Chevrolet’s engineering support.

Zak Brown (McLaren CEO) on the Team’s Identity
"McLaren is proud to represent Chevrolet in this new championship, but we are a British team first and foremost. Our racing heritage is built on international competition, and while we will have access to Chevy’s resources, we will operate independently from the American teams. Our goal is to bring McLaren’s precision and technical expertise to NASCAR-style racing while maintaining our own identity."

✅ McLaren Will Compete as a Separate Entity – Unlike RCR, CGR, and HMS, McLaren will function as its own division.
✅ International Perspective – McLaren’s approach aligns more with BMW’s European focus, rather than Chevrolet’s American NASCAR roots.
✅ Utilizing Chevrolet Power, But Not Strategy – While they share an engine platform, they will not align with RCR, Ganassi, or Hendrick Motorsports on race strategy.

What This Means for the NIS Championship
Road Course Specialization – With its British engineering roots, expect McLaren to focus on dominating road courses like Imola, Interlagos, Kyalami, and Navarra.
A New Rival for BMW & Audi – Instead of fighting for Chevy’s supremacy, McLaren is more likely to battle against BMW’s Haas & Kangaroo Racing teams and Audi’s AM Racing team.

McLaren’s NIS Strategy & Expectations
1️⃣ Road Courses Over Ovals – Expect McLaren to prioritize handling, braking, and aerodynamics, meaning they will be more competitive in Europe and South America.
2️⃣ Limited Chevrolet Cooperation – While McLaren will use Chevy engines, they are not part of the manufacturer’s primary NASCAR teams, making them an independent force in the series.
3️⃣ Potential for Surprise Wins – With Chevrolet power but a British racing mentality, McLaren could play spoiler on road courses and steal key wins away from BMW, Audi, and Toyota teams.

#83 Sheldon Creed

"I don’t think people realize how serious McLaren is about this. Everyone sees them as a Formula 1 and endurance team, but they’ve brought in some of the best minds in the world for this program. Germain and I have everything we need to go out and win races. I don’t care if we’re going up against NASCAR legends or former Formula 1 guys—we’re here to win."

Creed believes that McLaren’s engineering team will allow them to develop a superior car.

y0XOhn8.png

#84 Germain Loochhausen

"We’re not just here to participate—we’re here to make history. McLaren has always been a dominant force in motorsport, and I don’t see why it should be any different in NASCAR. Some teams are already counting us out because we’re new, but they’re going to be in for a surprise when we show up and start winning."

Loochhausen isn’t focused on just road courses, believing that McLaren can compete on ovals as well.

Tommy Bedlam recently sat down with Taylor Kitchen on her "Above the Yellow Line" podcast to discuss his championship season, along with a host of other topics, including his departure from Chevrolet to Team Penske, a Ford team.

"When I turned down Gene Haas, which I know really upset him, I did so because I believed that I would spend the rest of my career in a Chevrolet. You know, people in the garage hear stuff before it gets to you guys in the media. For instance, we knew that Mr. Hendrick was going to launch an NIS team. He's always been a Chevy guy, so we, meaning me and my team, we assumed that I would be on the shortlist for that ride. They went with Bobby Rey. I can't say that I completely understood it, but you know, it's just a job I didn't get. Been there before."

"So then we catch wind that Richard Childress is going to put a team in NIS. Again, Richard has been with Chevy for decades, so there were some rumblings. But, I completely understood that they wanted to go with the Earnhardt name. But still, it's another Chevy ride filling up."

"With Chip Ganassi, I knew there was nothing going on there because of who is running the team. Brandon Blaze Sr. was never going to call me. He and I have had words before, and none of them were about a future job."

"Honestly, as the season was winding down, and we were locked into the playoffs, running good every week, I really thought I might land in the Junior Motorsports ride; the 8 car. I thought that might be it. Junior and I had some conversations after I was on his podcast, so I really thought he was going to offer me that ride. He went with Eckes, which I guess is a sponsorship thing. It helps when you bring a sponsor to the table, even if you haven't put a bunch of wins on your record."

"When I annoucned that I was going to Penske to drive the 22, I said that Mr. Penske is one of the few people who, when they offer you a job, you take it. For me, the other people on that list are Rick Hendrick and Richard Childress. Neither one of them offered me a job. Mr. H went with a guy who I consistently finished better than; Bobby Rey doesn't have a Truck Series title, does he? Jeffrey Earnhardt? I know he has the name value, but I've been ahead of him almost every week. I can't call my daddy up and ask for a job and be put in a great car. Chiristan Eckes? He's solid, but again, my resume compared to his favors me. Team Chevy didn't have a spot for me unless I wanted to stay in the Truck Series. So when Roger Penske called and said, 'Hey, do you want to drive the 22 car,' it was an easy question to answer."

Following Tommy Bedlam's comments about his departure from Chevrolet and his decision to join Team Penske in 2022, several key parties, including Gene Haas, Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), and Hendrick Motorsports, responded in varying ways. Here is a detailed breakdown of how each organization has reacted to Bedlam's statements:

Gene Haas’ Response:
Gene Haas, the owner of Haas Racing, did not offer any further comment following Tommy Bedlam's interview. Haas Racing has decided to remain silent on the matter, with no official response regarding Bedlam’s decision to turn down an offer from the team. Haas has historically kept a low profile on such matters, and this situation was no exception, as the team opted not to publicly engage in the discussion.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Response:
Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) also chose not to respond to Tommy Bedlam's remarks regarding his decision not to pursue a potential opportunity with the team. CGR did not offer any statement or clarification about Bedlam’s earlier comments, which suggested that Brandon Blaze Sr., the team’s principal, would never have considered Bedlam due to their past disagreements. This lack of response from CGR suggests that the team might either not see the need to comment publicly or prefer to avoid addressing Bedlam's frustrations in the media.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Response:
Hendrick Motorsports, on the other hand, provided a more detailed statement following Bedlam’s interview. The team acknowledged Bedlam’s talent but also indicated that the decision to go with Bobby Rey for the NIS team ride came down to brand loyalty and long-term relationships with Chevrolet. Rick Hendrick, in particular, made it clear that while Bedlam was a talented driver, his departure from Chevrolet might have affected future opportunities with Hendrick Motorsports:

“We’ve always had respect for Tommy Bedlam and his performance, especially this season with his championship win. That being said, loyalty to Chevrolet is something we take seriously. If Tommy had chosen to stay in the Truck Series for another season with Chevrolet, we might have considered offering him a Cup Series ride in the future. However, at the time, we believed that Bobby Rey was the right choice for us, based on his ability to align with our Chevrolet values and bring something new to the team. We recognize that Tommy has talent, but we felt that Bobby’s connections and brand presence would be more beneficial for us in the Barclays International Series. Had things been different with his loyalty to Chevrolet, we might have gone in a different direction.”

Summary of Reactions
- Gene Haas chose not to comment further, with Haas Racing staying silent after Bedlam’s comments having previously commented publicly on the matter.

- Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) also refrained from responding, leaving any potential misunderstandings with Bedlam unresolved. The hiring of Brandon Blaze, Sr. as the Team Principal after the signing of his son likely plays a big factor in the response or lack of one.

- Hendrick Motorsports acknowledged Bedlam’s talent and discussed how the team might have considered offering him a Cup Series ride if he had shown more loyalty to Chevrolet by staying in the Truck Series for another season. However, Hendrick Motorsports ultimately went with Bobby Rey, as they believed he aligned better with their brand values and long-term strategy with Chevrolet despite not being seen being more talented than Bedlam.

- In the end, Tommy Bedlam’s decision to join Team Penske represents a significant career shift, as he moves from Chevrolet to Ford, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

Austin Cindric and Juice Millar Respond to Tommy Bedlam's Move to Ford
As Tommy Bedlam transitions from Chevrolet to Ford with Team Penske, two notable figures in the Penske Racing stable, Austin Cindric and Juice Millar, weighed in on his decision. Both praised Bedlam's move to Ford, with Cindric acknowledging the strategic nature of the move, while Millar expressed more incendiary views on the changing dynamics of NASCAR's manufacturer landscape.

Austin Cindric’s Thoughts on Bedlam's Move:
Austin Cindric (#2, Team Penske) offered a more measured take on Tommy Bedlam’s switch to Ford. With Cindric moving up to the Cup Series for Penske in 2022, he sees the partnership with Ford as a key advantage for Bedlam's future success:

“I’ve got nothing but respect for Tommy and his decision to move over to Ford,” Cindric said. “Ford is a powerhouse in NASCAR, and I think it was the best move for him. He’s a talented driver, and I know from my experience with Penske that Ford is committed to making sure their drivers have every opportunity to succeed. He’s got a lot of talent, and I have no doubt he’ll continue to do well in the Xfinity Series and beyond. It’s a strong organization, and I’m looking forward to working with him next year.”

Juice Millar’s Incendiary Comments on Chevrolet’s Future:
While Cindric kept his comments diplomatic, Juice Millar (#53, Team Penske) was more outspoken about Chevrolet’s future in NASCAR, making some bold statements regarding the evolving landscape of manufacturers:

“Tommy’s move to Ford makes perfect sense. I don’t think he’s looked back since. It’s a decision I would’ve made, too, if I wasn't already part of the Ford brand,” Millar said. “But honestly, Chevrolet? They’re going to become irrelevant in the sport soon. Once the likes of Honda, Audi, and BMW really establish themselves in NASCAR, Chevrolet will be like Buick and Dodge — just another name that faded out. They don’t have the same energy or innovation they used to have in NASCAR."

This more direct and blunt Juice was certainly not the same we had seen for the last two years, but they composed themselves before continuing.

“I’ve always believed in Tommy, even when we were both coming into NASCAR in 2020,” Millar said. “I actually recommended that Penske sign him. It’s been great watching his progression, and I honestly think out of all of us from that rookie class, Tommy has the best chance of being a future Cup Series Champion. His drive, his intelligence, and his ability to get results week in and week out — it’s all there. I’m excited to see what he does at Penske in 2022. He’s got what it takes.”

Chevrolet Teams, Drivers, and the Brand Respond to Juice Millar’s Comments

Juice Millar’s recent comments about Chevrolet’s future in NASCAR, specifically suggesting that the brand will eventually become as irrelevant as Buick and Dodge, have sparked reactions from within the Chevrolet camp. Teams, drivers, and representatives from the Chevrolet brand have shared their thoughts on Millar’s incendiary remarks, offering their perspectives on the matter.

Chevrolet’s Official Response:
Chevrolet’s official representative issued a statement addressing Juice Millar’s comments. While the brand acknowledged Millar’s right to voice his opinion, they were firm in their belief that Chevrolet remains deeply committed to NASCAR and its teams.

Tyler Reddick, a young driver with RCR, expressed his confidence in the brand, noting that Chevrolet continues to evolve. “I think Juice is being a little dramatic, to be honest. Chevrolet is still one of the strongest brands in NASCAR. We’ve seen it in the past and will continue to see it in the future. I’m proud to drive for Chevrolet, and I believe they’ll continue to be a major player in the sport.”

Juice Millar Responds to Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Tyler Reddick's Statements
Juice Millar (#53, Team Penske) responded with a chuckle after seeing Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Tyler Reddick publicly comment on his remarks regarding Chevrolet’s future in NASCAR. Millar, who had made some bold predictions about the shifting landscape of manufacturers, found it somewhat amusing that these high-profile drivers felt the need to address a statement made by a two-year Truck Series driver with only a few wins.

Juice Millar’s Response:
“Well, it looks like I must have really hit a nerve if Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Tyler Reddick are all coming out and making public statements about what I said,” Millar laughed. “I mean, I’m just a two-year Truck Series driver, right? And I’ve only won a few races. But clearly, my words struck a chord with the big-time guys, huh? Maybe they’ve realized there’s some home truth in what I’m saying about Chevrolet and its future in this sport. When you’ve got three major drivers publicly commenting on a rookie’s opinions, maybe there’s more to this than they’re willing to admit.”

Juice Millar found amusement in the fact that Larson, Elliott, and Reddick felt compelled to publicly respond to his comments, suggesting that his words must have resonated with them. Millar believes that his thoughts on Chevrolet’s future might contain some uncomfortable truths, and he sees the responses from these big-name drivers as proof of that.

Taylor Swift Encourages Swifties to Support Juice Millar in 2022 Truck Series
Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Tommy Bedlam, has made a public declaration encouraging her fans, the Swifties, to rally behind Juice Millar (#53, Team Penske) in the 2022 Truck Series season. Despite Bedlam Reynolds Racing being a personal project for Tommy Bedlam, Taylor Swift has embraced Millar's journey and voiced her unwavering support for his efforts in the Truck Series.

Taylor Swift's Statement:
“Though Bedlam Reynolds Racing is Tommy’s pet project, I’m here to show some love for Juice Millar and his journey in the Truck Series. Swifties, it’s time to make some noise for the #53! I’m officially declaring that the #77club is now the #53club, and I’m ride or die with Juice Millar this season. It’s going to be an amazing year, and I know that we’re all going to be supporting him every step of the way. Let’s cheer him on like never before—#53club, we’ve got this!”

Taylor Swift has declared her support for Juice Millar in the 2022 Truck Series, urging her fans to transition their allegiance from Tommy Bedlam’s #77 to Millar’s #53. Despite her personal connection to Bedlam, Swift’s statement emphasizes her belief in Millar and his potential, encouraging her Swifties to rally behind him as the #53club in the upcoming season.

Swifties Declare War on Chevrolet in Support of Juice Millar
In an unexpected and dramatic turn of events, Swifties, the loyal fanbase of Taylor Swift, have taken to social media to publicly declare war on Chevrolet in support of Juice Millar (#53, Team Penske) and his journey in the 2022 Truck Series. Inspired by Swift’s endorsement of Millar and her shift of allegiance from Tommy Bedlam's #77 to Millar’s #53, fans have begun to vocally express their dissatisfaction with Chevrolet’s role in NASCAR.

Swifties on Social Media:
The #53club has rapidly gained traction, with fans rallying under the hashtag #ChevyOut and #GoFordGo across multiple platforms. Swifties have flooded platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, making statements such as:

“It’s time to back Juice Millar, the underdog, and show Chevrolet what they’ve lost! #GoFordGo”

“We’re ready to support a brand that stands with our favorite driver. #53club all the way!”

“Chevrolet had its chance. Now it's Ford’s turn to dominate NASCAR!”

The Swifties’ collective stance has been fueled by Taylor Swift's public show of support for Juice Millar, causing a massive wave of social media posts directed at Chevrolet and Team Chevy for not backing the Truck Series Champion.

Impact on Social Media and NASCAR:
The Chevrolet brand and its affiliated drivers have been subjected to a wave of online criticism. Millar's fans have made it clear that Ford, through Penske Racing, is the future of NASCAR, with Chevrolet’s perceived lack of loyalty to Millar becoming a central point of the #53club’s narrative.

While Chevrolet teams like Hendrick Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing have stayed focused on their own efforts, Juice Millar's supporters have amplified the tension, creating a divisive atmosphere in the NASCAR fanbase.

In what is sure to intensify the ongoing Chevrolet vs. Ford rivalry, Tommy Bedlam was spotted wearing a #53club t-shirt while out in public with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The shirt, which has become a symbol of Juice Millar’s fanbase and Ford’s newfound support, was a bold move by Bedlam in the midst of the social media storm that Swifties have been creating with their declaration of war on Chevrolet.

Public Appearance and Response:
The public outing, which drew attention from both fans and media, saw Bedlam standing by Taylor Swift and her shift of support to Millar. As Bedlam sported the #53club t-shirt, it sent a clear message about his allegiance to Millar and the Ford camp, reinforcing the growing tension between Chevrolet and Ford in the NASCAR community.

The move added more fuel to the social media fire that’s been burning ever since Swift made her endorsement of Millar public. Fans of #53club have praised Bedlam for his support of his fellow driver, while others see it as a provocative act that further alienates Chevrolet and its supporters.

Summary
In response to Taylor Swift’s support for Juice Millar, Swifties have waged an online “war” on Chevrolet as part of their support for Millar’s #53 truck in the 2022 Truck Series. The dramatic shift in allegiance has created a fierce social media storm, with fans publicly declaring that Ford and Team Penske are the true future of NASCAR, while Chevrolet faces growing criticism for its perceived lack of loyalty to the Truck Series drivers like Millar.

(Jeddah → Ha'il | Total Distance: 614 km | Timed Section: 19 km)

201

The 2022 Dakar Rally officially kicked off with Stage 1A, a short but crucial 19 km prologue designed to set the starting order for the first full-length stage. Despite its short distance, this stage was essential, allowing teams to establish early momentum while navigating the Saudi Arabian dunes and fast-flowing sand tracks for the first time.

For Team Penske’s debut in the Dakar Rally, it was a day of firsts, as Juice Millar and co-driver Tommy Bedlam took on the legendary rally raid for the first time together.

Stage 1A – Prologue Overview
Route:
Jeddah → Ha'il
Total Distance: 614 km (Only 19 km of timed competition)
Terrain: Hard-packed sand, small dunes, and fast sections

Purpose of Stage 1A:
- Served as a seeding stage to determine the starting order for Stage 1B.
- Allowed teams to shake down their vehicles in a real rally setting.
- Gave navigators their first live experience with Dakar’s complex roadbooks.

Team Penske’s Dakar Debut – Juice Millar & Tommy Bedlam
For Juice Millar, this marked the beginning of a brand-new racing challenge, requiring patience, adaptability, and endurance unlike anything in circuit racing. Meanwhile, Tommy Bedlam took on his first-ever role as a Dakar navigator, learning on the fly how to call out directions using the complex Dakar roadbook system.

Juice Millar after Stage 1A:
"That was intense! You wouldn’t think 19 km could be that crazy, but this Dakar roadbook is no joke. I’m used to pushing hard, but here, it’s all about balancing speed with navigation. Tommy did an awesome job for his first-ever run—now we get to see what this beast can really do tomorrow."

Tommy Bedlam on his navigation debut:
"Man, I thought rallying was tough before, but this? This is another level! You have to be 100% focused the entire time because one wrong call and you’re lost in the middle of nowhere. We made a couple of little mistakes, but nothing major—we’re learning fast!"

(Ha'il → Ha'il | Total Distance: 514 km | Timed Section: 333 km)

After the short 19 km prologue in Stage 1A, the real Dakar Rally began with the first full-length desert stage—a brutal 333 km special through deep sand, dunes, and rocky trails around Ha'il. This was the first true test of navigation, endurance, and mechanical durability, and it did not disappoint.

Team Penske’s First Full Dakar Stage – A Tough But Encouraging Run!
Juice Millar’s first true taste of Dakar endurance racing.
Tommy Bedlam’s biggest navigation challenge yet.
A steady approach focused on survival rather than outright speed.

Juice Millar on Stage 1B:
"Man, that was absolutely brutal. The dunes are like nothing I’ve ever driven before—it’s like surfing on sand, but if you mess up, you’re stuck for an hour. The key was just keeping the car moving and making sure we didn’t get lost."

Tommy Bedlam on his first real navigation test:
"This is Dakar, for real. The dunes make it nearly impossible to spot landmarks, so I had to trust the roadbook and instincts. We had a couple of close calls, but overall, I think we’re learning fast!"

2022 Dakar Rally – Stage 2 Recap (January 3, 2022)
(Ha'il → Al Qaisumah | Total Distance: 791 km | Timed Section: 338 km)

The first marathon-length stage of the 2022 Dakar Rally saw competitors tackle a grueling 791 km journey through the Saudi desert, with a demanding 338 km special stage filled with massive dunes, rocky sections, and tricky navigation.

This stage was expected to be one of the toughest early tests of the rally, forcing teams to balance pushing for speed with vehicle preservation, as the long-distance terrain punished mechanical failures, driving mistakes, and navigation errors.

For Team Penske’s debut entry, Juice Millar and Tommy Bedlam faced their biggest challenge yet, navigating through intense dune crossings and fast-paced desert tracks, continuing their steady approach to surviving their first Dakar.

Stage 2 – The Long Haul Begins
Route: Ha'il → Al Qaisumah
Total Distance: 791 km (Timed Special: 338 km)
Terrain Breakdown:
✔️ 60% deep sand & dunes – Massive, rolling dunes that test patience and vehicle power.
✔️ 25% rocky sections – High risk for punctures and suspension damage.

Juice Millar continues to adapt to Dakar-style endurance racing.
Tommy Bedlam faces his most complex navigation challenge yet.
A costly early mistake led to lost time, but they recovered well.

Juice Millar on Stage 2:
"That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in a race car. The dunes go on forever, and if you get stuck, you’re toast. We had one sketchy moment where we nearly tipped over, but we kept it clean the rest of the way. It’s a different kind of driving—you have to think long-term and not just go flat out."

Tommy Bedlam on navigation challenges:
"We got caught out early. Missed a waypoint by just a few meters and had to circle back. Cost us some time, but that’s Dakar. Other than that, I feel like we’re figuring things out more with every stage."

Tommy Bedlam on his improving navigation:
"Man, I’m getting into the groove now. The first two days, I was second-guessing myself a lot, but today I felt way more confident in my calls. We kept it smooth, hit all the waypoints cleanly, and didn’t lose any time backtracking. We’re finally starting to feel like a real Dakar crew!"

Tommy Bedlam Praises the Penske Dakar Prototype – "This Thing is a Beast!"
As Team Penske continues their Dakar Rally debut, co-driver Tommy Bedlam has spoken highly of the Penske Dakar Prototype, a specially built Ford Raptor RS Cross Country, designed to handle the brutal terrain of the world's toughest off-road race.

After three intense stages, Bedlam had nothing but praise for the machine, which has helped him and driver Juice Millar stay competitive and avoid major mechanical failures so far.

Tommy Bedlam on the Penske Dakar Prototype:
"I’ve been thrown around in a lot of off-road machines, but this thing is a beast! The way it just powers through the dunes, eats up the rocky terrain, and stays planted at high speed—it’s unreal. The engineers at Penske and Ford have built a proper weapon for Dakar."

On High-Speed Tracks
"This thing flies! Some of those flat-out sections where we’re doing 170+ km/h across open desert? It’s stable, precise, and just feels planted. It gives us so much confidence to push."

On Sand Dunes
"The power delivery is so smooth that we can just keep momentum going. Some of these dunes are ridiculous, and the moment you stop, you’re stuck. But the Raptor just climbs like a monster."

On Durability
"Three brutal stages, and we haven’t had a single major mechanical issue. That’s insane for a debut Dakar vehicle. Other teams have had punctures, suspension failures, and electrical problems—we’ve just been able to focus on driving."

Juice Millar Agrees: "This Truck is Dakar-Ready!"
"This truck is an absolute weapon. I’ve driven a lot of high-performance race cars, but nothing handles terrain like this. The power, the balance, the way it takes a hit and just keeps going—it’s unreal. Penske and Ford built something special here."

What’s Next for Team Penske?

Stage 4 will be their toughest test yet—a massive 465 km timed section.
Can the Penske Raptor RS Cross Country continue its reliability streak?
Will Millar and Bedlam keep climbing the overall rankings?

One thing is for sure—Team Penske’s Dakar machine is proving itself, and Tommy Bedlam is loving every second of it!
