NASCAR 2020 Season Thread

I didn't watch the end of the Texas race because I had to leave Wednesday evening and once I saw that Kyle won I was like "forget it".

Logano is the only one locked in to the final 4 at his point I believe. So Hamlin, Harvick or Brad K. can have a devastatingly bad day and get knocked out. For Harvick..Bowman or Elliott would have to nearly dominate the race and win for him to completely fall out of the final 4. Kurt Busch is in a "must win" situation. Elliott, Bowman and MTJ more than likely are too if the other guys have a good race by getting a lot of stage points and getting a good finish.

Brads obviously getting a good start to making sure that he stays in the top 4. All of the playoff drivers starting next to each other is interesting. Looking forward to the race.

It looks like Martinsville has had rain this morning but will be clear for race time.

I hope Chase wins today and has a chance at the championship. If he doesn’t I’ll be pulling for Kevin to win the championship.

I'd like for a Chevy to get in to the final 4 at least. If none do then ill probably cheer for Logano or Brad K. Brad hasn't won a Championship since Dodges last year in the sport I believe. That feels like a lifetime ago already.

Kevin Harvick's having a horrible race. Before the end of Stage 2, he was 19 points below the cut line behind Keselowski. Yikes!

OMFG!

What a crazy finish to the race. Harvick try to pass Kyle to get in the playoff spot with a tie to Keselowski in points. Unfortunally, he bumped him instead and they both spun in the process before they got to the finish line. Harvick has officially been eliminated from the playoffs.

Such bullshit, best guy all season and doesn’t even have a chance next week. This is why I hate playoffs in NASCAR. Dumbest shit ever.


Hopefully Chase wins but damn, Harvick deserves it.

You said it. Only 1 or 2 horrible races can cost you a chance to battle for the championship. It's unfair that Harvick had to suffer the misfortunes of today's race and ending up missing the playoffs. NASCAR does need to get rid of the playoff format after this race. I feel bad for his fans that cheered for him all year, ending up in disappointment with the results.

I've always been for them ditching the playoff format. Even though I stopped liking Harvick ages ago because he was instigating fights between other drivers he really has been the most successful driver this year.

To me the Champion should be someone that was the best driver the whole year. The playoff format doesn't reward that. I never liked the Chase format either. To me all of these formats have tainted how they have crowned champions compared to how Petty, Dale Sr. etc. became Champions.

The Martinsville race had me hooked though. Between the fight for the lead and the fight for points.

Chase strikes me as a very reserved guy so it was nice to see him so overly excited after the race. That was a nice win!

By the way, the teammate drama in that Martinsville race. Erik Jones not wanting to help Hamlin out, Bowyer getting aggressive with Almirola. Obviously Erik Jones is gone from JGR after this year and Bowyer is retiring, so both are like "I am done being nice". lol

Martinsville is slowly becoming one of my favorite tracks of the year just because of the close racing and drama.

Sheldon Creed, Brett Moffitt, Zane Smith and Grant Enfinger. The 4 drivers racing for the Championship in the Truck Series tonight.

I'm pulling for Sheldon Creed. Tied with Grant with 4 wins but I feel like Sheldon has had a better performance.

I would not mind Moffitt getting it. But I really don’t have anyone I dislike in this. I wanna see a fun race.
