Well, I know this thread will likely only be me and @Doom really, cause I doubt anyone else here cares for it, but the 2020 season is right around the corner. Daytona 500 is only 28 days away, but we get on track action before that.

Watch the Daytona 500 That's THE big race. If we get enough people wanting to watch it, might make a Live Discussion for it.

Plus that's their huge race so it's going to be a big deal.

Chris Buescher, who I know would be in the race is from Texas. Brennan Poole wasn't born in Texas, but he was raised there. Might be a few more but you got them two. This would probably be both their best chances to win also. Daytona is one of them races that you can win even with a smaller team.

I watch all of the NASCAR races (well, most of them) every year. Some races I don't pay attention to as much because they tend to be boring.

Wow a NASCAR thread. I stopped watching NASCAR weekly in 2014 after my father passed away (he used to be on the pit crew for Davey Allison in the late 80's/early 90's).. I try to follow the results every week still.. So many guys have retired just in the last 5 years, i feel like i don't know anybody anymore.

That's pretty awesome. Such a shame what happened to Davey.

One of my dad's best friend is actually first cousins with Jimmie Johnson. They didn't really grow up together or anything, but they have the same grandma lol. So when I started watching I was always cheering for him bc the dude had like a whole room in his house dedicated to Jimmie. This was before he had ever won anything, so it was cool seeing him win all those championships later on.

This is Johnson's last season if you hadn't heard by the way. He really fell off these last few years sadly. His last win was 2017. He only won 3 times that year and it was kind of early on. Year before that he won his last championship. So his downfall came pretty fast.

Jimmie Johnson is from the city I currently live in in San Diego, I don’t know much about NASCAR but I know that he’s treated like a big deal out here. I even think there’s a Chevrolet car dealership called Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet out here

My dad's friend is a car salesman like my dad and he refuses work at any dealership that doesn't sell Chevy

I don't know what happened with Jimmie Johnson, when i was a regular viewer he was dominating every season. I think he won 5 championships in a row at one point.. It was getting annoying, lately i've heard he's been struggling out there. Now Kyle Busch seems to be the best driver they have right now.
