Sort of. Storm Troopers were a paramilitary group in Germany during the First World War and there’s a unit during the second under the Nazis with a similar name of SA or Storm Detachment that were also sometimes called Storm Troopers after the OG unit from WW1.

I was never gonna give you shit because I assume you got it from Star Wars, but George literally lifted it from the Nazis because the Empire were Nazis in his allegory.

I would certainly not change it due to it bc I think having it related to Star Wars is a victory against the Nazis instead and that's what every associates it with

To be honest, the thing that ruins, storm troopers more than it being a name of a military organization since it predated the Nazis, is that it’s generally also been co-opted by neo-Nazis. It was also the name of their neo-Nazi magazine the storm trooper.

For the record, Jeff’s name is so perfect that I don’t want him to change it even with everyone else gives up on the gimmick, because I think his name is just a great name in general.
