My Question On The John Canton Show

I was on the John Canton show. John Canton posts weekly articles of shows that have been on the site. He is a really nice guy and really smart. I became friends with him like two months ago over facebook and already seems interested in what I have to say. I asked him the question of who do you like better as the best young heel right now. Cody Rhodes or Dolph Ziggler were the options. I am on from 45:30 to 51: something. I don't talk a lot but I thought it was awesome. I like Dolph more right now, but John makes an excellent point that Cody could really step up and be better for the future. Also I brought up that I think Vicky is one of the WORST managers of all time if not the worst. I like managers that are masterminds and are intelligent on the mic. Vicky gets heat for the sake of how annoying she is. I'm just not a fan of her, but anyway take a listen. John Canton for WWE creative!!

Tough choice for the best young heel out of those two. Both have had very good last twelve months and both are just on the cusp of making it close to the top of the card. If I had to pick one it would be Ziggler because as good as Rhodes is he has one of the worst gimmicks of all time and it isn't even over. People put those bags on when a true heel would get fans to rip the bags up or through them back at him. Both have huge futures ahead of them.

Don't agree with you at all about Vickie. She has been one of the best managers in the past decade and she was able to get a tonne of heat for herself and for those she manages. She was great as GM and continues to be strong as a manager.

Hey Troy Rhodes > Ziggler haha. Seriously I think with the new belt and the rumored loss of his mask Rhodes is going to go from strength to strength. Let's not forget Ziggler is a former World Champ, he was given the shot and he didn't impress as much as I'd of of liked and obviously not as much as WWE would've liked. Cody doesn't just treat titles as a prop either he respects them and it's helping to build him.

Wow Prod kind of bias there don't you think. Ziggler had the belt for a grand total of TEN MINUTES!! How did WWE give him any chance to shine like that. I don't get your theory, he got little chance to shine. Troy is right Rhodes isn't exactly fully over with the bags gimmick. He needs to stop that, but at least he's getting major heat. But yeah it's tough to impress in a title reign for TEN MINUTES!!

As for Vickie, well it's simple with her. Bobby Heenan, Jim Cornette, and Paul Heyman were three guys that were true masterminds. They were guys that helped their superstar with promos and rise to the top. They got so much heat, but it was legit. I'm not a fan of being annoying to get heat. Vicky brings little table for me, as a manager. She may be better than the Tori's, Dawn Marie's, or Lita's in managing but c'mon. Melina was a way better manager than her. Melina was awesome manager for MNM. She carried promos while Vickie is just hurting. She's just annoying and gets heat for never shutting up. She's hurting Dolph's career, I hope they eventually break off.

Allen, Ziggler had a shot on a PPV the Royal Rumble no less which is one of the big four PPVs.

I'm a little confused Big Red? Cornette, Heenan, and Heyman were not annoying? That was the gimmick for all three of them! Yes they were better talkers but their heat came from them annoying the crowd and the faces. They were just a bit more credible than Vickie ever will be.

As far as this Ziggler thing is concerned he one the belt with no storyline or character while the fact that he was in the spirit squad was decently fresh in everyones eyes.

I found all three guys very informative Scott. They delivered on the mic and I actually wanted to listen to them. Vickie doesn't give me things I want to hear. She's dull, annoying, and lacks innovation when she speaks. She's basically a broken record but because she gets heat, we all think she's amazing. All three guys I mentioned were guys that were awesome to listen to, especially Paul Heyman since he was around when I started wrestling. I just can't stand Vickie, but Ill let you guys get in on another link. I am huge fans of Don Tony and Kevin Castle radio show. They opened my eyes to what Vickie Guerrero does and it's really nothing. I know these guys may seem like old pissed off guys and it's clear they aren't very liked but I think they hit this on the button. She's not the worst manager because their are way more woman that were bad. But Vickie isn't the great manager she's told as.

I still don't get why everyone hates Rhodes gimmick. Its one of the greatest things going right now. You took a pretty boy gimmick that really was only a mid-card act and tweaked it with a real life injury and gave him a darker more vicious side that's made him a solid threat to the main event. Rhodes is better than Ziggler in every aspect with the exception of maybe selling. But even then, Ziggler almost oversells sometimes. Every time Ziggler is given the mic, I cringe. Not a Morrison cringe but a cringe nonetheless. He just doesn't sound natural at all.

I think people hate the gimmick cause it's gone on too long. I get it the guy thinks his face is disfigured ok so does it make sense to then where a clear mask? To have that mask taken off all the damn time? I mean what is the story here is it a guy who thinks he disfigured or is it a guy who just likes to use a mask as a weapon?

The part of the gimmick I hate is the handing out of the paper bags because the fans ringside don't get the gimmick. Some put the bags on which makes a mockery of Rhodes attempt to be a heel. If the fans saw Rhodes as a heel then they would rip them up and throw the bags back at Rhodes. I liked the mask part of the gimmick, I like the idea behind it but the handing out of paper bags is one of the dumbest gimmicks of all time. Rhodes really does need to remove that mask go, and I thought they were going in that direction a few weeks back when it was removed, because it is treading water now and isn't going anywhere. I like Rhodes but he needs to become more serious before I see him as a maineventer which he really should be by the end of next year. He has done a great job with his promos because of the way he has altered the way he speaks to sound completely different to anyone else and his wrestling talent is obvious.

Rhodes needs to shed the dumb extras of this gimmick and Ziggler needs to dump Vickie as manager and go it alone.
