You posting your referrals again? Yawn.
I think we could fair quite well against City tonight. If you're a United fan and you can remove two players from the line up, it'd probably be Kompany and Aguero - honourable mention for Yaya Toure as well. Those two being out means they've got a shaky defence and not much pace/penetration up front. As usual when facing City, you'll be up against a far greater midfield which consists of Yaya Toure (top scoring midfielder), David Silva (most audacious hair cut, and is a fairly decent creative talent xD), and an in-form Nasri.
However, no one seems to mention how open to counter-attacking football Manchester City are. They are genuinely one of the most vulnerable teams when it comes to counter-attacking because they too use the 4-4-2 formation most of the time. If they use it again tonight, and Yaya Toure does what he does by going forward over and over again, that lives just Fernandinho to stop our counter-attacks. There will be a ton of space in the middle for Mata, Kagawa (hopefully he plays, if Moyes doesn't find his down-syndrome), Welbeck (our most important player), and Wayne Rooney to counter-attack at the heart of City's defence, which contains no Vincent Kompany.
Of course we need to actually keep them out and if Rio Ferdinand does play instead of Carrick, he needs to not have one of his absolute meltdowns he has now-and-again in defence. This is how I'd set up United after fantastic performances against Olympiakos and West Ham:
De GOAT
Rafael - Ferdinand - Jones - Evra
Carrick - Fellaini
Welbeck - Juan Mata - Kagawa
Rooney
Fellaini won't be sitting like he sometimes does. We can't afford to be that negative, and it seriously hurts the team. He needs to be aggressive, and box-to-box, making sure he supports and sets up attacks as well as defending. I have a feeling Moyes will be a cunt and not play Kagawa though, so I reckon we'll play the line-up I've suggested but with Welbeck out on the left and Valencia on the right, which sucks.
I fear the Liverpool team far more than the City team.
