I'm talking about underrated by the internet. I'm not sure whether to answer this thread by casual opinions on the IWC opinions. Some people call Cena the worst wrestler ever... I mean really?

By overrated I mean by his die hard internet marks who think he can do no wrong. The ones who say he's a better wrestler than Bryan, HBK, Benoit, Eddie, etc.

I'm a big Punk fan and I would never say he is even close to being better than HBK, Eddie or Benoit...
And yes I think Bryan is better WRESTLER than punk, he is the best WRESTLER in the WWE today and I have no shame to say it...
But Punk entertain me more with his amazing promos and mic skills which is hands down the best that WWE has had in years.

Cena is not a bad wrestler, he may not be one of the best but calling him the worst is plain stupid..
I'm the biggest Cena hater ever and I would never say that he is a bad wrestler as he had so many amazing matches throughout the years including his unforgettable match with Punk at MITB 2011

The IWC are a joke that just love to complain. Cena isn't a bad wrestler at all, and anybody who agrees to that is plain stupid. Ultimate Warrior, Great Khali, Big Show, Big Daddy V, Batista, and many others weren't as good as him. And to say he isn't good at the mic is stupid as well, he is great. He is cheesy most of the time, but he does have his good serious moments. CM Punk is overrated, but not at the same time. He isn't the best in the world, nor is he the worst. He is above average. His mic skills are the best in WWE today though, so that's what makes him great.

Overrated:

Dolph Ziggler- overrated by the IWC. Yes, he's a very good talent but he is not as godly as so many make him out to be, acting as if not pushing him would be the equivalent of losing the next Austin or Rock or something. The fact is, he has above average mic skills, but he is nothing 'great' on the mic, in my opinion. I don't see him going past the World Heavyweight Title (which is only thr second most important title in the company, pretty much what the IC Title used to be.)

CM Punk - I like Punk, but as mentioned, I don't feel he is anywhere near as good as the IWC (or he himself) makes him out to be. Good mic skills, but still not that great, the sound of his voice just doesn't draw me in (that sounds like a weird criticism, but it's the best way I can put it.) I watched that WWE 13 promo between Austin and Punk, and I thought Punk sounded so unmatched when up against Austin. Compared to Austin, he didn't seem like a threat and seemed like the kind of person Austin would easily destroy on the mic and then stunner and be done with it.

Daniel Bryan - Bryan is a great wrestler and has a lot of charisma but the IWC still makes him out to be more than he is, stating that he should be main eventing Wrestlemania and maybe even be a viable candidate to end Taker's streak?! He doesn't strike me as having a 'mega star' presence about him, and I personally see him as an upper-midcarder, who only won a world title because there are two of them in the company now.

Underrated:

John Cena - Boring as hell, but when it comes to his in-ring ability, I feel the IWC gives him too much slack. You don't have as many good/great matches as Cena unless you're at least a pretty good performer, and wrestling isn't always about the number of moves you have, it's about utilizing what you have and playing to the psychology of the crowd and the match. And you can't just put it all down to Cena's opponents either, because he's also had some good matches with Batista (Summerslam 2008, Wrestlemania 26), despite Batista never being that good of an in-ring performer himself.

I agree with all this except Daniel Bryan. :tough: His theme song alone is intense and amazing.

Without any specific order here's my 3 superstars who I think are underrated

Santino Marella - He's the only superstar who I think is underrated amongst marks and IWC alike. Neither group really takes the guy seriously. I think it's character that prevents him from ever being able to get anywhere. However his mic skills can't be questioned, the guy is hilarious, and his ring skills are underrated in my opinion. If you pay close attention to a Santino match, he's not the most technically sound, but he knows how to work a match as in the actual hype that goes into it. He knows how to put on a match as far as getting the fans into it. I think WWE could make money off of this guy if he were given a chance. I mean some of the best pops I heard in the last 2 years was when Santino nearly won the royal rumble and nearly won the elimination chamber. The only other pop that was close to that was when the rock returned. I think Santino would definitely be good in the top tier, despite popular opinion

Cody Rhodes - More so than Dolph Ziggler do I think Cody Rhodes should be the next guy placed at a top spot. Rhodes has been one of my favorites since he debuted and nailed that missile dropkick. Some might get a little butt hurt that I said more so than Ziggler, but I'll say why. Ziggler sells like a power ranger and that's just that. Not that it's a bad thing, it's entertaining, but it's just so over dramatic that it's almost cartoonish. I believe that is the only reason a lot of people are high on Ziggler. Cody Rhodes actually is well rounded, where he's also great on the mic. He wasn't always that good, like in 2009 when he was with Legacy, but since then he has really stepped up his game and I could see him as the WWE champion.

Tyson Kidd - Kidd was boring in his run as a tag team champion with the Hart Dynasty. Since then his ring work has improved dramatically and I think he could hang in there with the upper mid carders, going for belts like the US title and IC title. However I haven't heard him on the mic and I don't think I could recall a time where he was ever on one to be honest. Tyson is too good of a wrestler to be in the spot he is in, not sure about the talking part, then again HBK wasn't all that either.

Top Overrated

CM Punk - He's a conservative wrestler and I don't like it. I'm not sure if backstage is telling him to tone down his wrestling, or its him just looking out for himself, but I'm not high on it. He was great before he won the WWE championship, but now its just weird. Every week it's the same old I'm the best in the world thing and maybe it's a clever way of getting the IWC to hate him, but it's really garbage. Punk at this point in his career looks lazy in the ring, with the exception of PPV's. He just fails in comparison to other champions.

Heath Slater - He should be jobbing right now and letting someone else have his spot. The only reason he has that spot is because he jobbed to a bunch of legends leading up to Raw 1000. The only benefit of having him in this spot is having McIntyre along side him.

Sheamus - One of the shittiest mic workers I've seen in a long time. He always gives some half ass threat, says he loves to fight, and raves about Ireland. If Shrek and Finlay were combined you'd get Sheamus. I'll admit that the guy is decent in the ring, but not to the point where WWE should be investing, so much into the guy. He's the last superstar that is shown on the RAW intro if anyone hasn't noticed, he's a smackdown world champion that's always on Raw. The only reason he's not WWE champion is because people would actually see how lame this guy is. I'd swap his spot with Cody Rhodes

I think Edge is also overrated in some terms. He was entertaining no doubt, but some say he is the best wrestler ever, which I disagree. He was very entertaining, especially as a heel, but when it comes to in ring, no not the best afar.

Overrated - Ryback, he's been in the E for 7 years I reckon and still can't work a 20 minute match? I'm sorry but that performance at HIAC was worse than Batista, Warrior and a few other "terrible" workers.... if he can't do it now will he ever? If you can't atleast be carried to a decent match by Punk you have no chance. Plus he lacks variety IMO, the whole dominant monster will get old without depth, what else can he do? He needs to look at Taker and see how to change himself up. He's a very good talent for what it's worth, very similar to Sheamus on quality IMO... although one is hated and another is adored which I find bizarre.

CM Punk as said before people either cream or hate him, he's far from this messiah some make him out to be.

Kane - Just don't get it, people literally adore him on here and I can't fathom why.

Under - CM Punk see the over comment, it's the same coin on a different side.

Sheamus - See Ryback really a very good raw talent. They're more similar than people care to admit.

DZ - Great performer but not perfect like some cheesecakes think he is... yet anyway. Woops this should be in over so ill say Cenah.

Expecting to be slagged off to the hilt so leggo.

I'm on the fence about Ryback vs Punk. Not on what I think about it, ofc it was a poor match, but I don't get it. Unless Punk is wrestling someone like DB or Jericho, he calls the entire match, and he's very good at it. Why would he let the match flow like that, when obviously Ryback didn't get a word in? I think they just wanted Ryback to look very very strong (whoever booked the match=they), so they told them to work like that, and it backfired in the form of a bad match. I may be wrong, but I just find it weird.

I agree, but a lot of that has to do with all those stunts he did in those TLC matches. He had to change the way he wrestled, so he could conserve his body for the rest of those years in his career, but see how that worked out. Towards the end of his career edge was really lazy in the ring IMO.
