So with the start of a new season and Fuji Vice creating a new MLB thread to discuss the season and after having purchased MLB 2013 the Show it got me to thinking.

If you were to begin a new team in the MLB today which current star or stars would you take from another team to help build your own team?

Would you take a pitcher or a batter?

I think I would begin with a decent outfielder to start my team. I think I would go with a decent guy but someone who can help carry a team and has many years left in him.

I would start with Andrew McCutchen in CF and try to get Bryce Harper to go along with him.

Then grab a decent pitcher like Veerlander or Strasburg and then begin to build around those three or four.

Who is your first pick?

I would take David Wright first he is a great fielder and a great hitter. Next I would take someone to protect him in the line up.

Not a bad choice there. That was why I chose Bryce Harper to follow Cutch.

I would have chosen Ryan Braun but I think that he would bring to much baggage and seems to swirling with more rumors of doping. Mike Trout would be another guy I would chose.

Cutch is great. I saw him he booted from a game once it was the first time I've ever seen that live. That's not what makes him great but it was still cool to see.

Trout had a great season last year and he would be in my top five players. Maybe top 3.

I hope trout doesn't regress and has about the same numbers this year as last and can learn some things from pujols

I would start with Mike Trout, then I would move on to Buster Posey to protect him in the line up. As for pitchers, I would go with Strasburg and Verlander as well. They are both premiere pitchers in the league right now.
