Looked clear to me that the batter responded to the shit talk afterward. He was just doing the tough guy routine, take a couple of steps towards the mound, point your bat, say 'watch it pal' and Greinke said something to make him charge.

Who knows, i'm not sure why Carlos was staring him down though. I don't think you would want to move the tying run into scoring position. I'm assuming if he did talk trash it was "Shut the fuck up, and get to first" Carlos is the most hit player in baseball because he crowds the plate.

Quentin is mos def a plate crowder and the situation it was obvious he wasn't meant to be hit. So yea, clearly something Greinke said pissed him off. Not condoning fighting in baseball because I think it is dumb, but maybe Greinke learned a lesson about being a fake tough guy as he nurses his broken bones back to health.

How come NHL and MLB are allowed to police themselves but if a fight broke out in NBA or NFL it'd be a shit storm.

Somehow to him that made it more acceptable, but I agree with you at the end of the day. Traditionally it's been accepted. I can remember growing up always hearing about Ryan giving it to ventura.

but we are at home and Detroit is below average on the road. Brett Anderson is the best pitcher in baseball that nobody knows about. He gets hurt too often but when he is healthy he balls out.

2 starts this year he goes 1.38 ERA w/ 16 ks. His hook is so nasty. If you love strikeouts you should tune in for this one
