I have never quite understood why the wifes of US politicans need to give speeches during the election campaigns. Surely you are electing the candidate and it doesn't matter if their partner decides to sit quietly at home not wanting the attention. I would be more interested in hearing what Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney rather than their wives and I wouldn't really care what their wives think because they aren't up for election.
