I hate that my first thought is it's probably a gimmick. Like he'll resurface later saying the old Matt Hardy is dead and he's been reborn as a new Matt Hardy. If it's a gimmick, then this was a step too far. However, I'd rather it be an over-the-top cry for attention and stunt to create shock value than a legitimate suicide note. I'm honestly scared for the guy right now.

I'm with Dredson here. I first thought it would be about "The Old Matt Hardy" being dead, and him being reborn.

If Matt's serious and does kill himself and then Jeff gets sentenced, it will truly be a sad ending to the Hardy Boyz story. That's not to say Matt going through with this wouldn't be tragic on its own, because it would. So again I reiterate, I'm terrified for Matt Hardy right now. I hope it isn't real.

But I have a really hopeful feeling that if Jeff doesn't get sentenced, that he will become a better person. Hell, I think if he is, when he gets out, he'll be changed. I just have a strange feeling that Jeff is going to wake up soon.

This is quite a large concern and like everyone above I hope this is an over the top cry for attention. Like everyone I am scared for Matt, I may not like him right now but no one wants to wish death on a person. If this is a legitimate note hopefully his family and friends can get in touch with him and support him through this tough time period.

Fuck this guy is over-dramatic, he'll do anything for attention and to keep "the dirt sheets" talking. Hardy is way too high on himself to commit suicide, so I'd take this with a grain of salt.

It's probably gonna be something that nobody cares about, like that change of gimmick you guys have spoken of. Either way, what a lame way to go about it.

The Moore County Sheriffs office has told people that have called regarding Matt Hardy that they are in the process of sending someone over to do a "welfare check". Thanks for all your concern and calls... even if this is a part of his 'reborn' storyline. Things like this need to be taken seriously. Shane Helms tweeted the following: "Don't believe the hype. And please don't bash me for it! I didn't do it, had nothing to do with it."
Jeff Hardy's girlfriend also tweeted: "Ugh. So sick of bulls--t. Don't believe everything you read. No matter who writes or posts it."

An apparent suicide note Matt Hardy released this evening via YouTube has been confirmed as a hoax.

Jeff Hardy’s wife, Beth Britt, is steamed with Matt’s latest attempt ‘to work the Internet’ as police showed up to her North Carolina residence this evening on a suicide call.

She angrily wrote on her Twitter account, “When the cops show up to our house at 11 pm, for a “suicide call” the fucking joke is over @MATTHARDYBRAND. Stop trying to work the Internet.”

A fan wrote to Britt, “Who the hell calls 911 and sends them to the wrong f’n house?” She responded, “Apparently someone that believed the stupid video.”

She then wrote, “I guess you got what you wanted @MATTHARDYBRAND. Everyone is talking about you, again. But it’s not in a good way.”

Meanwhile, Shane Helms wrote, “Don’t believe the hype.” He continued, “And please don’t bash me for it! I didn’t do it, had nothing to do with it.”

Matt is such a dickhead. Does he not realise he still has a lot of young fans that were probably very upset when they saw this video and all it was was Matt in character yet again. He, and his family and friends, need to get him into rehab or at least a health facility (the ones with padded walls) to figure out what is wrong upstairs with him.

I think that Matt could be charged for wasting police resources and time. I remember hearing something about the rapper The Game getting in trouble with the police for getting people to call the police.

I just wish they would get Matt the help he needs. He needs some proper help and they need to get him to the right places.
