TNA Wrestling announced Saturday on their official website that Matt Hardy has been released from its roster.

Their statement reads: “TNA today released IMPACT WRESTLING star Matt Hardy from its roster. Hardy was already under suspension from the company.â€

His bio was also removed from the website’s roster page.

F4WOnline.com reports that company president Dixie Carter made the decision to terminate Hardy’s contract following his arrest earlier in the day in North Carolina for driving while intoxicated.

Meanwhile, Shane Helms has posted several messages on Twitter in defense of his longtime friend. He has directed numerous obscenity laced messages to users who disagree with him and also attacked TMZ.com for breaking the news of Hardy’s arrest.

“TMZ, a site that profits off the mistakes and downfalls of human beings. How proud they must be. What a bunch of maggots,†he wrote.

Hardy’s girlfriend Reby Sky has also reacted to Hardy’s unfortunate twist of fate. She wrote on Twitter, “It hurts to see anyone I love hurt in any way but I have faith that all will be ok. Regardless of what happens. Thanks for the support.â€
Well what a run this guy had and since he kinda burned bridges with WWE I wouldn't where this leaves him.

Can't see WWE taking him back, and ROH fans don't want him, looks like he will prob be working the indies. Be interesting to see where this leaves Jeff, could see TNA just cutting him loose soon though, see him getting another chance in WWE though.

Matt better hope he can go over to Japan or something if he wanna avoid 200 people crowds. Then again would be no different from TNA house shows. As for Jeff writing was already on the wall and is now even more so. Difference is he could get a job back with WWE since he was a draw before he left. Either way apparently the Hardy's just need to stay away from TNA.

I'm sure WWE won't want him back but they really better not take him back. I don't want to see Matt Hardy being worthless on my tv ever again.

I could acually see him and Jeff going back to WWE. Trips has had a reported soft spot for them multiple times in the past with siding with bringing Matt back after the Lita fiasco and putting the title on Jeff after two suspensions even against Stephanies wishes, according to Meltzer anyway. There is no better way for them to reignite the division than Team Xtreme because there has never been a team to draw like them for the company, and honestly there is no better way to keep them in check than the wellness policy.

Yeah they are screw fucking ups, but they can make a company money and stay reasonably in check by WWE brass. You sign them back if you are WWE just like you would give Trish any money she asked for to be a full time diva again or HBK/Dave/Jericho money to comeback and work his old schedule. You take the risk, sell some merch and DVDs and cut line and bait if they screw up. It would be bad biz to not even get them at a discounted price because of all their F ups and knowing they will need legal cash

Well at least Matt can stay in check. I'm sure he'd love a chance to put people over on Superstars.

Personally, I don't mind watching Matt wrestle. He is solid in 5-10 minute TV matches. He shines in that role. It's also probably why people think he could have done more. There was a match on Impact a few months ago that he had with Sting that was better than any Sting PPV match from this year up until the Angle one. That isn't saying much, though.

:lmao

He won't go back to WWE, although his fans will want him to (I don't understand how he can have fans) I just don't see them wanting to re-hire him. ROH's fans don't want him either. So he'll either retire or just work selected indy's.

I used to like Matt Hardy so I'm trying to care but it just isn't happening.

I hope everything works out for him but not seeing him on my TV anymore would make me a happy person.

Hopefully that means he'll be stumbling around on live TV.
