After what I would consider a pretty fun filled PPV, what is your favorite match of the night?
Adam Rose def. Fandango in a WWE Battleground Kickoff Match
It was a happy birthday for Adam Rose tonight, as his WWE Battleground party went unspoiled, thanks in part to his opponent Fandango’s scorned former partners: Layla and Summer Rae.
Cameron def. Naomi in a WWE Battleground Kickoff Match
Emotions ran high on the WWE Battleground Kickoff, as former friends Cameron and Naomi settled their Divas drama in a knockdown, drag out fight. In what could be considered an upset, Cameron defeated her former Funkadactyl partner in somewhat controversial fashion, perhaps proving she truly is The Bomb dotcom.
WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos def. The Wyatt Family in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match
One of the greatest tag team rivalries of the modern era raised the bar at WWE Battleground in a 2-out-of-3 falls confrontation. Both The Usos and The Wyatt Family are intimately familiar with one another, but the teamwork and chemistry between the twin sons of Rikishi claimed victory once again in two consecutive falls.
Divas Champion AJ Lee def. Paige
Paige may be The Diva of Tomorrow, but AJ Lee remains the Divas Champion of today. The Black Widow turned back the challenge of her “frenemy” in a thrilling title contest that was a stark departure from the Divas’ previous two encounters, both of which were over almost as quickly as they began and resulted in the crowning of a new champion.
Rusev def. Jack Swagger by Count-out
Jack Swagger didn’t beat Rusev at Battleground, but he brought the fight to him in a way no other Superstar has. If you’ve been following The Super Athlete’s reign of dominance in WWE then you know that’s an accomplishment in its own right.
Seth Rollins def. Dean Ambrose by Forfeit
The WWE Universe might not have gotten the match they wanted between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at WWE Battleground, but if you were expecting an all-out brawl between these two bitter rivals, it was impossible to be disappointed.
Chris Jericho def. Bray Wyatt
With Bray’s loss in Tampa to the first-ever Undisputed Champion, Wyatt must now re-examine if he still believes himself to be WWE’s reigning puppet master. If Bray is looking for someone to save, perhaps he should think about himself.
The Miz won the Intercontinental Championship Battleground Battle Royal
Lying in wait outside the ring for most of the bout, The Miz cleverly managed to be the last man standing to capture his third Intercontinental Championship.
John Cena won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4-Way Match
(Def. Kane, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns)
What's the verdict? What is the match of the night?
Please discuss.
