It’s much like TEW. I got plenty of people signed I forget to use for weeks or even months sometimes :hayden3

Confirmation on AEW wrestler leaving the company
After reporting recently that Marko Stunt's AEW is set to expire in May, Fightful Select can confirm that he will be leaving the company.
We're told that last week, Marko Stunt got the call from AEW talent relations in the form of Christopher Daniels and was informed that the company would not be renewing his contract. It was claimed that Daniels' cited budget cuts and a large roster as the reason that the deal was not renewed.
Stunt hasn't appeared on AEW programming in six months, and Daniels also was said to have mentioned that plans had changed for Jurassic Express. Stunt sustained a concussion in October, and was not booked or given a reason why, but did make an effort to reach out to the company to get booked to prove himself for a contract renewal.

We're told that the split was amicable, and the conversation went well.

in all seriousness yeah budget cuts/large roster for non renewals is pretty much what we've all expected. though it's probably more fair to call it budget reallocation than cuts, they got better people to pay now.

They didn’t have stars at first. At least ones not worth paying a lot too

They had MOX Jericho and Kenny Im going to guess as the three most paid guys, probably in that order (maybe jericho first, hard to say) and a significant drop off after so yeag again I agree. it wasn't until really punk, cole and danielson did they drop some heavy bank on premier main eventers

Jericho probably made more Ambrose. Just guessing but yes that’s exactly it. After the three guys you named, they had nobody.

Bucks probably weren’t making that much at first, I doubt Page was making significant money.

But yes, now that they have real top guys, they gotta find room to pay them.

They’ve always known. But bringing in Adam Cole and letting go Marko Stunt is a good trade off.

lol yes. if we want to argue losing cody that would be a more fair argument but cutting marko and janella is what ppl wanted on d1 that didnt watch this show anyways lol.

AEW scrapped the indies for anybody that was available when they opened up of course they’re going to trade in some of the people that don’t bring in that kind of value when free agents of value do come in.

good way to word it, and its exactly it. cant grow aew without stars and when you bring in stars others move down to card. sometimes they fall off the card. AEW gave a lot of people exposure during the pandemic too so i think while its never fun to not get re-signed, i think the vast majority of people let go are going to leave better off than they came it
