Marko Stunt "one of numerous" AEW contracts coming due in May

I said it before, when guys like Punk, Danielson, Cole are coming in, those guys that were there at the beginning and aren’t real stars are going to be let go.

Now Tony might not technically be firing them, but if he’s really giving all these dudes the silent treatment then that’s even worse.

Joey Janela clearly doesn't want to be released right this instant either, he's happily letting that contract run out while also making more than he ever has on the indies

The upside is a lot of people who's contracts are expiring is that most of them had their stock raised in AEW and at least they will be able to get work relatively easily in the independent scenes. And while it isn't the case for everyone, most of them seem to be leaving on decent terms where if they become a bigger name and there is an opening, they could enter back if they wanted to. At least it isn't a case of most the time people getting released suddenly with no heads up. It seems like most the time people's contracts naturally expire and in the few cases where people have formally requested a release, they were granted most of the time (like Big Swole... ignore the controversy post, and Kylie Rae because she needed to focus on her issues out of the ring).

Tbf the Marko one seems worse bc you don't even gotta book him tradionally, he was literally just a mascot that coulda stood there so you do gotta consciously NOT call him some of the others I can see being them getting lost in the roster but idk if I'm Marko I would be pretty upset myself all things considered, just not upset enough to turn down the paycheck
