I'm going to go with the Austin refusing to tap out even though I was fan of the other option. The image of Austin in the Sharpshooter with the blood streaming down his face is still extremely markworthy

It's not the angle over the whole match though it's the one moment in the angle and the one moment in the match. You could argue that the angle was mishandled out the gate not being able to get bigger WCW names but it was before the angle got totally fucked and if you were a fan of WCW or mainly ECW in this case at the time it was a big mark out moment.
No I GET what you and Chris are saying, but that image of blood pouring from Austin's face was practically the flag of the Attitude era and was show on every Raw intro vid for over 5 years. What lasting image did the Alliance angle leave us with? Ummmm yeah I don't know either.

Yeah I get what you mean it is by far the more iconic moment so sucks voting against it but have to since I just happened to mark out more for the alliance angle at the time

ugh, this is why I hate this tournament. The fucking Alliance angle, one of the worst and utterly mishandled angles in wrestling history, gets the nod over arguably the best match in the history of WWE? What the fuck is wrong with you people.
It's not a "Greatest Moments" tournament, it's a "Mark out Moment" tourney. SCSA's "Austin 3:16" Promo is a markout moment. Him passing out in a Sharpshooter? Cool. Not a markout imo.

Love the match. Among my favorites.

Also, I know the Alliance angle gets a lot of heat, usually from old WCW and ECW Loyalists, but I LOVED the angle. No bullshit, I Loved it.

I voted Austin and I'm probably the biggest ECW mark on this forum...

Don't think I'll vote for anything Invasion related as it was just too botched to let it win.

Think this is fair comment, I am as big a fan as any of that match and movement, however I don't think of it as a mark out moment, just a very intense and realistic moment which boosted Austin's career.

I think half a year's worth of storyline (although a botched one towards the end) would beat out last generation's John Cena.

ECW FTW.

Have to vote for the Alliance here. Yes WWE royally screwed up the storyline in the end but that one moment was so good. At the time I thought it was potentially the start of something huge and it played off as a massive moment.

Austin will personally hunt you down for linking him to Cena...
