The Alliance may have fizzled out a bit but when they first joined up it seemed like the greatest thing ever. Punk was just a man sitting down cutting a worked shoot.

that ECW/WCW moment was beyond awesome. True mark out moment when RVD and Dreamer came in and did their thing and you had Heyman leave the booth... COME ON MANNNNN THIS IS AS EASY AS DOIN A FREE HOE.

Also, he stole Vince Russo's gimmick from WCW.

Punks shoot. The Invasion angle wasn't that amazing. It was good, but people make it out to seem bigger today then it really was.

I wouldn't go ^^^this far, but Punk's promo was done brilliantly and had me captivated.... kinda figured out what was gonna happen in that invasion clip as soon as I saw Taz and the Dudley's running to the ring, was still a very cool moment just slightly less so than Punk

Really not sure the comment about people making the Invasion angle seem bigger than it actually was. For me at the time I loved it because I was as casual a fan as you could get, but in hindsight while it might have had its entertaining parts, the angle was lobsided from the start because of the lack of star power on the Alliance's side of things. Don't think i've seen anyone big up the whole angle to be more than it actually was to be honest.

This tournament is not about the entire angles, just the specific moments. Seeing RVD & Dreamer jump the barricades, Raven & Dreamer on the same side, Awesome & Taz in the same ring for the first time since Taz went back to ECW to win the title. There were a lot of great moments all in that 5 minute clip, compared to someone sitting on the ramp.

I was with you on this post all the way until the last part. Really don't think it is right to just simply dumb down that promo to just it was just a guy sitting on a ramp saying stuff. You could do that to a lot of stuff to under mind it.

In a "Mark Out" tournament, it really is just a guy sitting on the ramp and talking about ice cream bars. Hardly anything to mark out over. It was a good promo, and to be completely honest I was more shocked the writers hit gold for once.
