The story I heard was impact still had the rights and Konnan went to them upfront and asked their permission and they gave it so he debuted the LAX name on MLW television but then something happened and they randomly had to change the name and all references to LAX completely. Seemingly overnight.

Konnan also isn’t on tv to my knowledge so maybe that permission left with him, but I believe the change was before he left though. So it’s hard to say really.

I know they told talent they could use their ring names but I do know all the sheets were reporting Konnan did ask their permission to use LAX when he did debut in MLW so I don’t think they let go of any other pay-per-view or stable names and stuff like that.
