Likely suspects if asking for releases is true are def Miro, Andrade tho. Not breaking news I know since thats been thrown out for months but I think that's super obvious lol I could see Swerve and Keith Lee as people that were reached out to as well but with Swerve's recent comments we can 100% say he didn't ask for his lol

And one other thing, if i'm to believe there were multiple people who were just straight up tampered with and basically told to ask for their release why aren't they as a company going the legal route with it? He likes to talk the talk on Twitter about having more money than Vince and won't be bullied etc :draper2

100% Andrade though I don't really count Rusev as a Trips guy even though he was in NXT for a spell, he always felt like more of a Vince project. I reckon Regal was one to be part of his team he was forming and Joe aswell to float in between wrestling and the back stage stuff.

And honestly, in terms of some of these guys asking for releases, I don't really think they have had "bad" runs. Some just had shit circumstances.

Miro had a rough start with his "Best Man" character but he had a great run as TNT Champion, one of the better champions, but then he missed a lot of time from injury and from commitments to other projects.

Malakai, once again, mainly injuries to him and people he was feuding with, and at worse, he shouldn't have had that loss to Cody. But the House of Black are over and generally are presented as badasses, even his mist has affected people both temporarily (PAC, Penta) or long term (Julia Hart).

Andrade probably has had the roughest time in AEW of them due to a rotation of managers and his AHFO storyline falling flat, but he has had some bright spots and did have shit luck recently because he nearly had an IWGP US title match at Forbidden Door but CMLL/AAA Politics nixed that match.

I agree, just more so basing it off on Miro's tweets recently that seemed disgruntled to say the least lol

El Ídolo definitely had to be one of the guys to ask for his release.

Him going from WWE to AEW was more of a lateral move. He may have gotten more television time but he was essentially in the exact same position.

Hunter was super high on the guy after his initial heel turn. So I could see him bringing El Ídolo back in the fold. But he’d need to be paired up with Vega again. They had something together. Hell, throw Garza and Carrillo with them too.

More names from AEW contacted by WWE
As reported on Fightful Select last month, several AEW talent have been contacted by WWE, or those working with WWE about potential returns to the company.

At the time, Fightful had heard that a former WWE talent had been contacted by WWE talent relations, referred the contact to their attorney, and informed AEW management of the contact. AEW sources confirmed this, and higher ups have spoken of it numerous times. However, that's far from the only talent that was contacted.

Wrestling Observer had noted that Malakai Black was contacted by WWE, and we have heard from WWE sources that over the past month, he'd indicated to contacts in the company that he wished he was still there. As of now he's effectively done with AEW, but with the inability to compete for WWE for an extended period. Several in AEW management were initially of the impression he wanted to go back to WWE. There were higher ups in AEW that are of the "if they want to go, let them," mentality, however.

In addition to Malakai, a source within WWE also stated they heard that feelers were sent out to Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR. The two have a while left AEW contracts, and spent years in the WWE system working with Triple H. WWE had made numerous efforts to re-sign FTR under the Vince McMahon regime, but they chose to join AEW.

Among others, Swerve Strickland is a name widely known within AEW that was also contacted by WWE.
Finally, while we don't have a name, an AEW source also said WWE had reached out in August to an AEW name who had been with the company since the start, but that even we'd be surprised to learn they reached out to.

On his own podcast Bruce Prichard had highlighted that WWE previously had refused to discuss much of anything with contracted talent in years past.

I don’t Trips contacted anyone personally. It was probably like Hit Row contacted Swerve or Charlotte said something to Andrade. Doubtful there’s a lick of proof.

considering AEW sent a legal letter to WWE and the reports seem to indicate that it was people in WWE office contacting them, I strongly disagree.
