According to Figure Four Weekly Online, the announcement will be that TNA will be taking Impact Wrestling on the road in 2013. It’s unknown whether TNA will be giving up the Impact Zone or if they will still hold occasional Impact tapings there. The current plan is to tape two weeks worth of shows with one being Live and the next being taped for the following week.

According to PWInsider, this is in fact the planned announcement. They also confirm that the first planned road show will be on March 14th (following Lockdown) in Hoffman Estates, Chicago. I believe this is where they ran their Bound For Glory 2008 event.

The Impact Zone is horrible so this is good news. If they book small venues and can draw a couple thousand fans this may work out for them.

Thank God, now the fans at the shows will actually be real fans and not mindless zombies.

If they come close to me, I'm getting tickets for sure.

Good business choice for a company that seems to be tanking pretty fast.

I'll actually prob go to the Chicago show as it's a quick 2 hour drive and I'll prob be able to get some decent tickets for cheap.

I was kinda hoping they would be going 3 hours on Impact, but this is much better.

Now i don't have to hear "You've still got it" every week, even if that same wrestler is wrestling every week.

Big step in the right direction lets hope the set isn't as shitty as the current one and that they aren't going to huge venues leaving half the seats empty. Smart thing to do is go to smaller arenas.

A move in the right direction. This needs to happen if the company wants to be taken seriously as an "alternative". As mentioned above, now you'll get actual wrestling fans as opposed to tourists who go cause the tickets are free.

I'll probably check out a show if they come close to me

Very smart move, they need to get infront of actual wrestling audiences that will give a real reaction. They need to ensure that they don't try to go too big too soon though, don't try to run 10k seat arenas, try to book smaller arenas first with a couple of thousands seats max. Focus on markets where house shows have done well and then expand from there. This will introduce a lot more fans to the product if they can actually see it live.

This will be very good for them. Impact Zone makes TNA worse as they don't have any excitement only when Hardy comes out and says "Hello creatures".

Seems to make sense from both a business stand point and the impression it will give to them as an expanding promotion.

I also like the idea of them taping one live show and then taping one at each arena. That will help them save some costs early on because it will be very expensive for them to go on the road. Good way to ease into it rather than going all out immediately.

Travelling around like that costs a shit ton of money though. It's definitely something they should be doing, but they should stick to cities they know they can draw good numbers in. It's a bit of a gamble because if they aren't selling those venues out, they're running the risk of hemorrhaging money. I agree that the Impact Zone crowd is horrendous, but it's a very cost-effective way to produce their television. Doing all the ppv's on the road is definitely what they should be doing now, but I'm not sure they're ready for a road schedule with Impact.

TNA has been hemorrhaging money since Dixie took over, they've never been about making money they've always been about Dixie's dad giving her something to do.

Will be intrigued to see what numbers they manage to pull on the road given how lacklustre their house shows seem to do.

They should start at the Mall of America.
