If anyone’s played the card game just called Salem; I was thinking about making a forum mafia version.

I didn’t want to host it until the section could handle it because it would be extremely experimental.

You’d have to accept the balance might not work.

I think the reason irl mafia doesn't turn into huge fights is also because those games start and finish over the span of like an hour or two. online, it lingers for days and thats a long time for ppl to ruminate and get pissed

Yep. Usually a round is 5 minutes for shorter games, 15 for longer ones. There’s no voting until the entire phases is over. Then you nominate people for lynch and the two are then voted on at the same time.

It moves quickly. Between an hour to two.

It’s a whole different experience.

EpicMafia was great for that when it was alive. Ten minutes games. 30 if it was a comp game.

To add a but more light heartedness, the last I played mafia was several years ago and we based off of McCarthyism and you were either a commie or a capital. First round of voting everybody picked me as a Commie, but I was a Capital, lol
