Just finished watching TripleMania XXIII.
- The Atómicos match was a solid show opener. **½
The match was a bit of a mess at first, with some folks just standing around and waiting for others to do their spots, but thankfully it gained some steam soon.
Drago and Dinastía were the two standouts here, just flying everywhere.
Also, LOL'd at Drago kicking Mamba in the ass when Mamba tried twerking, it was hilarious.
And last, but not least, Pimpi applied a sick submission on Sexy Star and her team picked up the win!
- Los Villanos vs The Psycho Circus was a DUD. I stopped watching it after 5 minutes.
- Averno, Chessman & Cibernético vs Angélico, Fénix & Jack Evans vs Hijo del Fantasma, Pentagón Jr. & Texano Jr. was a good spotfest with just sickening bumps. ***
The match could've gone without the cage, though.
- Blue Demon Jr. & La Parka vs El Mesias & Electro Shock was decent for what it was. **
Highlight of this match would be El Mesias channeling his inner Mike Tyson. The way he dropped La Parka at one point with those jabs was cool.
- Alberto El Patrón vs Brian Cage was very good. ***½
- Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Myzteziz was great. ****
The post-match angle was weird, in a sense that it felt like they could've had Myz attacking ReyRey to set up their (mask vs mask) rematch without everything else (Averno, Pentagon, Lider post-match interference).
With that being said, I don't really watch AAA's product regularly, so I don't know, maybe it made more sense to regular viewers. But I did like Myzteziz turning rudo, though.
I was way too excited for this show and in the end, I ended up being disappointed.
The only two matches that are worth watching are El Patrón/Cage and ReyRey/Myz.
Tagline of the show would be Cero Audio.
There were technical difficulties for a large portion of the show and that was more than enough to hurt the show for me. Also, having all those production mishaps is a bad way to debut on the US and Canadian TV, given TripleMania is AAA's version of WrestleMania... But, oh well.
