Longhorn Championship Wrestling has been the premier local wrestling promotion in Texas since 1979. Jerry Jenkins purchased the company from his business partner in 1991, and successfuly ran the company until 2022. It was then that Jerry made the decision to cash out, retire, and spend his time traveling the country. Now, under an agreement with Fantasy Wrestling Alliance, and under the ownership of Tommy Bedlam, Longhorn Championship Wrestling is proud to announce....

LCW High Noon!

Tommy Bedlam has entrusted Rocco Sullivan with the task of finding a ring announcer, a commentary team, a referee, and others who will help make High Noon the biggest wrestling event to hit the state of Texas since....since....the last big wrestling event that took place in Texas. Those names will be announced soon.

Since there's only one wrestler and one referee on the roster, that's where YOU come in. Yes, you. Sitting there reading about this struggling, yet historic indepenent wrestling federation has surely moved you. With that in mind, this is your opportunity to be a part of wrestling history, as Longhorn Championship Wrestling launches its first exclusive live event (ELE).


Out of Character Notes:​

• The show will take place on March 15, 2023. The goal is to have it posted by March 18, 2023.​
• The deadline for promoing will be on March 13, 2023 at 12:01 AM EST. (I'll get the deadline times for other time zones together shortly)​
• @OldJay and @AON have graciously agreed to work with me to help make this show a reality. They will be assisting with match writing and grading.​
• Speaking of grading, we will use the FWA grading system, as A) it's badass and B) we're familiar with it.​

IMPORTANT:
PROMOS WILL BE LIMITED TO 2500 WORDS.
This isn't done to stifle anyone's creativity. However, we have talked about how to do this in a way that encourages participation and doesn't cause people to stress trying to pick up a fun, non-canonical show in addition to the regular FWA schedule.​

• You are certainly allowed to use your FWA character if you want to, but LCW's show will be completely non-canonical in relation to FWA. With that in mind, you can create a new character if you want using the template that I'm attaching here.

The Tall Handsome Stranger (Often shortened to The Handsome Stranger or Handsome Stranger or just THS)

Gimmick/Background: Steve Manson better known as The Handsome Stranger, is one of the icons of Longhorn Championship Wrestling and an integral part of the company serving as one of the top heels for decades. Pissing off the crowd, shoving refs out of the way and generally being a bully. His ability, mannerisms and natural hateable charisma proved to be a perfect foil for the Bedlam Family, and his feud with three generations of the Bedlam family is legendary; Coming into the business trained and mentored by Backjack Bedlam as his heir and the future of LCW, in fact, that's where the name "The Tall Handsome Stranger" came from, he was named after the common trope in western movies of the mysterious hero who rides into town and shoots all the bad guys and rides off into the sunset. He was meant to be the hero that southern audiences would identify with. Often pushed hardcore by the promotion and the chosen one, things looked pretty good for THS. There was just one problem, Those pesky LCW fans. Maybe it was a case of too much too soon, or maybe they found his whole "Look at me, I'm the good guy" thing annoying. Or they were alienated by the major push right out of the gate, whatever the reason. THS was soundly rejected by crowds, with not even BlackJack Bedlam's seal of approval being enough to heat up the lukewarm reactions. This, coupled with the emergence of Sammy Bedlam, who was quickly becoming a fan favourite, it was clear that THS was being phased out and Blackjack was easing his son into THS's spot. Feeling rejected by the fans and abandoned by the Bedlam family, this resulted in the shocking moment where THS betrayed Blackjack; now twisting the name THS into a thinly veiled "Fuck you" to the LCW fans he shocked the wrestling world by pinning Blackjack Bedlam in a steel cage and winning the LCW. the wars between The Bedlam Family and "The House Of Handsome" (His own personal stable) were among the most brutal in the history of North America wrestling and was often the focal point of the company. To the point where some have suggested that it played a minor role in the company going over because they kept going back to the "THS vs Bedlam" well too many times, but it can't be denied people packed into stadiums to see THS get his mouth shut. Despite his advancing years, he's managed to be able to wrestle to a high standard past his 50th birthday. And can often be seen working in Japan, but with mutterings of retirement by the end of the year, he was an obvious choice to be booked for the reunion show to stick it to The Bedlams one more time...

Style of wrestling: As old school as they come, you won't see any flips or dives from The Handsome Stranger. Just fists. He's the picture of a traditional Rastle, that specializes in zeroing in on a limb and slowly grinding it down and breaking down an opponent's body until he can barely move. It's simple but effective. Of course, when one talks about THS it can't be ignored that he's a master of the dark arts of wrestling. There isn't a dirty trick invented that The Handsome Stranger hasn't perfected. He's even innovated a few; for example, one of his most famous tricks is to rub deep heat on all his limbs- once he gets his opponent in a headlock, it gets in their eyes, and as the match goes on, it irritates and blinds the opponent. He's also been known to cut the hairs of his upper arms into fine points and grinds them into his opponent's face. Ouch

Accolades/Etc: holds the record for most Texas Death Match victories in LCW history. He is a 1x former world champion but a shoulder injury caused him to retire. He was a walk on at the University Of Houston as a O line men but, got kicked off the team after a bar fight. He once broke a bottle over the head of country singer Toby Keith after a disagreement. He has a scar across his throat from another bar incident. He's been married 4 times and claims each time he gets married he's just trading in for the younger model. He has 7 kids though none of them he's close too. He wrestled in Japan for 3 years after he was involved in a incident where he had a warrant out for his arrest in the US. He was a color commentary guy for LCW until he dropped the f bomb on live TV. He ended up with a compound fracture in a match with Tommy Bedlam and still finished the match.

Rosie Addams, or as she has taken as her name in the ring, Rosie Sparks, is a former child-star actor from the show "Growing Up LA" airing from 2010 to 2015. She lost part of her childhood, but, with the show's cancellation after its fifth season (decent run) and a heart-to-heart with her parents, who ended up being less shit compared to some OTHER child actors parents, she opted to forgo her acting career for the time being and did her best to enjoy the rest of her childhood. The biggest luxury of this time was her throwing herself into hobbies that she never had time for while acting. One which somehow ended up sticking as an interest, pro-wrestling. Drawn into the spectacle of it, she decided to give it a shot and has been bit by the wrestling bug. She has been touring the independents of America, getting some exposure thanks to her her previous fame. Though she is still adapting to the real world, her high spirits and down to Earth spirit has endeared herself to the wrestling audience. Gimmick/Backstory:
Linus Badger was a troubled, but incredibly smart, child. He was a natural in school, straight A's, perfect attendance, and a teacher's dream. Linus was also a child that was...not blessed with the good looks or social skills of his peers. Unfortunately, this led to him being at the end of constant torment from other kids in both his schools and neighborhood. Sometime during his final year of Middle School, he was attacked by students and other, older, people and left horribly disfigured, confused, unable to think straight, and unable to speak. It is believed that he was hit repeatedly over the head with some type of object, among other unspeakable things having been done to his face. After this, Linus would run away from home and lose all association with his prior life. He spent his late teens and early adulthood living in the streets, gradually deteriorating in condition, but somehow still thriving off the land. At some point he found a mask(?) to hide his face from the ridicule of other people. At the age of 20, he was hungry, tired, dirty, and sobbing, behind a Wal-Mart after being denied food and laughed at/bullied by a group of young college kids. While behind this Wal-Mart, he was found by a kind, yet mysterious, farm owner simply known as "The Gentleman".

The Gentleman

The Gentleman is a kind, decent, loving, albeit mysterious, successful farm owner. The Gentleman found Linus Badger sobbing behind a Wal-Mart at the age of 20 wearing a horribly disgusting mask. Seeing as he was unable to speak, and appeared to be incapable of taking care of himself properly, The Gentleman took in Linus and cared for him on his farm. Soon after taking Linus in, he realized that this silent giant was capable of things most normal men wouldn't even dream of being able to do. Linus took a liking to The Gentleman's Chainsaw and quickly got to work on various wood carving, gardening, farm-tending, and cooking, projects. He also became infatuated with the professional wrestling he saw on television as he would make positive grunts and noises at the TV as he watched. The Gentleman would also learn of Linus' past as the man, now nicknamed "Chainsaw", was able to use a notepad to communicate with him. He would introduce Linus, and his beloved Chainsaw (that he NEVER lets out of his sight), to the world of independent wrestling, where they would both gain a cult following and the "friends" that Linus always wanted.

Entrance:
After "Isolated" by Sub Urban plays for 11 seconds, The Gentleman comes out leading Linus "Chainsaw" Badger with, you guessed it, his trusty chainsaw in his hands. Linus lets out loud, happy grunts, as he holds his chainsaw in the air and the fans, his "friends", all clap and cheer for him along with The Gentleman. The Gentleman gets into the ring through the ropes as Linus wriggles his way under the bottom rope. Once in the ring, Linus swings his chainsaw above his head and revs it as The Gentleman throws his hands in the air with a smile on his face. Linus hands the chainsaw to The Gentleman, who holds it at ringside for the entire match.​

Name: "Cocalico" Jack Parrish

Gimmick: A silver-tongued snake is what best describes Jack. Born and raised in Morgan County, Missouri, Jack was never monetarily well off but he took to small crimes like moonshining, selling drugs, theft, and racketeering in his teens. He had an amazing talent for committing those criminal acts as well as avoid/pay off the police in his hometown. Creating a medium crime syndicate by using his family and friends as his lackeys Jack learned very early in life that his ability to manipulate people was his greatest tool.

Jack figured out that he could only earn so much money by keeping his criminal empire only in Missouri. In order for him to flourish even more he staked ground in the state of Texas as well. Preying on the people of small towns he planted his second flag near Amarillo, Texas. Going there so he was out of the crosshairs of the Mexican cartels but able to plague another three states in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas.

Through word of mouth and Jack's own travels in Texas, it was almost inevitable that he would run into the Bedlam family. Because it always seemed that Jack had the local police tied around his finger, even in Texas. The Bedlams fought back with the Serpent's Den in the only way they can with violence.

Rip Walker was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He’s lived there all his life where he wrestled on the high school wrestling team. He also played football for the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas before returning home where he helped on his family’s ranch. Rip would also work odd jobs here and there before getting a job in construction, but most of his time is spent on his family’s ranch.

When he’s not working on his ranch, Rip is just a good old country boy that likes to have a good time and he loves a good fight. It helps that he’s pretty good at fighting too. Eventually, Rip worked a few small independent local wrestling promotions, with his amateur background he figured it shouldn’t be so hard. While it was different from his amateur days, Rip caught on quickly.

After one show in 2019 he was approached by promoter Jerry Jenkins, and Jenkins offered Rip a spot in his wrestling promotion, Longhorn Championship Wrestling. Rip took up Jerry on his opportunity and with some more training under his belt now, Rip has become a big fan favorite in LCW over the last couple of years.​

Ten men, or five horses? Who knows?

What we do know is that this group of troublemakers have a tendency to disrupt matches in LCW with their antics. Wrestling is difficult for these creatures, as they struggle to make it into the ring without great effort but their stampedes on the outside of the ring can cause all sort of distraction for those competing in the ring.
