Well, it's a good thing if he didn't requested it or had anything to do with creative in this story, but it still doesn't make Cena look any better really...
I mean, he of all people would be in the greatest position to just say "Nah, I'm not gonna do anything with Brock". I doubt even TKO would immediately take the rest of his retirement tour away from him... and even if they did, by the sound of it he had a hell of a final Match against Cody in front of a huge crowd in the Main Event of one of the biggest PPV IPs they have.
I get why someone way lower on the food chain would not just quit the company because of their paychecks... but John, even though I do respect his honesty about him being a corporate stooge first and foremost, is in the very small, privileged group of people who just can't hide behind "I'm just following orders".
We are talking about the guy who granted more Make-a-Wish wishes than any other person, who is completely fine about working with someone, who isn't playing just a tiny part in a sexual assault and trafficking lawsuit against the former owner of this company.
