If they build up The Fiend vs Roman all the way to Mania as a long-term storyline I'm okay with it. If they bring Roman back and have him take the title within a month or two from The Fiend, I'll be furious.

Fiend vs Roman is super ballsy though considering Roman's history of being booed as a face and Fiend's hyper-popularity despite being a heel.

I haven't watched yet but judging from this thread Roman beats down Fiend post-match? If so, I'd have much preferred Roman coming into the ring and them going face to face and before Roman attacks, Fiend does his magical disappearing act. Fiend doens't have to actually sell a Roman beat down but still comes across looking scared/heelish.

Roman can still have his post-match moment that WWE so desperately would have wanted for him.

I'm still super curious what they hell they're gonna do with Otis MITB tho. With a long-term Fiend vs Roman feud I struggle to see him ever having a proper opportunity to cash in for the main belt. Inb4 he cashes in for the tag belts or something stupid lol.

Or do the Seth MITB at mania bit and have Roman beat Fiend at mania, then Otis cashes in on Roman lol.

Agree with all these sentiments, Ace. Fiend needs to not give up this belt this year. At Rumble is fine, but this cannot be a "transitional champion" thing if they want to protect Fiend and not be shit to him like they were with Goldberg.

At the risk of having confidence in WWE, I don't think he'll be a transitional champion. The goal, iirc, was always to have a nice big long-term rivalry between him and Roman before COVID saw Roman pull out for a while. That's why the Goldberg match happened.

Seems like WWE is trying to get back to the Bray/Roman angle and the fact that they're so focused on both of these guys, it implies that both will be booked strongly. Wouldn't be surprised to see Roman feud with Brawn first and in the short-term and allow some time on the belt for Bray before a full transition into the Bray/Roman story.

Roman finally being the face the WWE wanted him to be by having him save us from this fiend and braun bullshit. Love to see it.

Tbh Seth Rollins gimmick would work for Roman too lol since fans have been doing the exact same shit to him for years.

I really don’t know how to book Roman at this point but I definitely think that giving them the universal title soon is a mistake.

I'd say just let him put on banger matches then people will look the other way. Easier said than done with Bray and Braun.

Like, I would be happy with Ziggler getting the booking The Fiend is, that's all I'm saying. Like, you think you got it bad being a fan of his, but some of us got it way worse. I'm to the point of accepting it.
