I don't think Cena beating Cody at Mania is necessarily the right move but I think all things considered, Cena winning is and if it's against Cody he's just the guy that has to lose the belt then for this story that's more important to me

to me if the plan is for him to set the record and get a run, it would be odd to do it anywhere else. and the gunther title dont count lets be honest so it has to be this one.

that was the downside of dethroning roman is the person had to keep it for awhile to not look like a chump. I agree tho if he lost it now I don't think anyone would bat an eye.

Cody Rhodes and the increasingly dangerous Kevin Owens will battle in a Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The American Nightmare defeated Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event, but KO shocked the WWE Universe after the match by delivering a Package Piledriver to the champion, leaving him medically unable to complete.

With Owens parading around with the Winged Eagle WWE Title and claiming to be the rightful champion, Rhodes returned to SmackDown on Dec. 27 to lay down the challenge of a Ladder Match, where both titles hang above the ring with only one Superstar able to pull them down and be the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Owens proceeded to attack The American Nightmare again after that announcement, showing that there is no depth that he won't sink to.

I really wish a main eventer didn't win rumble I miss the times when stuff was to elevate superstars not saying any of those four don't deserve it.

I do understand royal rumble win can further stories looking at Cody or Rey etc. I got same gripes with mitb too.

Depends on what you mean.

If any gimmick, do you consider the MT Dew Pitch Black one as a gimmick? 2023. 2021 had Last Man Standing. 2020 had Falls Count Anywhere and a strap match.

As far as ladder matches. I believe this is maybe the second time? The only other I remember is Jericho vs Benoit from 01, for the Intercontinental Championship.
