An update on the Marvel/Netflix series starting next year:

Charlie Cox is Daredevil and Krysten Ritter is Jessica Jones. Now we have the third of the four members of Marvel / Netflix's Defenders crossover event series: Mike Colter will star as Luke Cage, sometimes known as Power Man. You call him names and he sits and grins, 'cause everyone else is just a sucker to him.

This is breakout role for Colter, who's been plugging away in movies and TV for a good decade. On the small screen he's been in the usual suspects like ER, the various Law & Orders, American Horror Story and The Good Wife. In the cinema you might have caught him in Million Dollar Baby, Salt, Men In Black 3 or Zero Dark Thirty. This year he's been Jameson Locke in the X-Box Live series Halo: Nightfall. He's about to blow up rather bigger.

Cage will first appear in A.K.A. Jessica Jones before his own series airs. "Viewers will meet him and experience why he is such an important superhero in the Marvel mythos," says Marvel's head of television Jeph Loeb. "Fans have longed to see Luke Cage and in Mike we've found the perfect actor."

"Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage,” adds executive producer/showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. “We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life."

Cage’s superpowers are the result of an experimental procedure. In Cage’s case, the result was supposed to produce immunity to all illness, but he emerged from the operation with steel-tough, bulletproof skin, super-dense muscle, and massively enhanced strength and stamina. As Power Man he became a “Hero For Hire”, eventually teaming up with Iron Fist. In the comics he has team affiliations with the Defenders and the New Avengers, and an ongoing romantic dalliance (and a baby) with Jessica Jones.

As evidenced by yesterday's new stills, Daredevil is first off the blocks in Netflix's Marvel onslaught, debuting sometime next year and followed sometime thereafter by A.K.A. Jessica Jones. Luke Cage will be third, with Iron Fist completing the collector's set and leading into the full-blown Defenders show.

So now all we need is a Danny Rand...

Empire Online

I don't think I posted the Jessica Jones stuff before, and we now have 3/4 of The Defenders confirmed.

Ummmm, so there's also going to be an Iron Fist show? That's amazing!

Fuji trying to comment on every post

Well, apparently I don't post enough anymore.

Tbh though, I posted that because I was pretty stoked. I've always loved the Iron Fist character and am definitely looking forward to the show.

Well since this is a place for marvel news:

'Ant-Man' director Peyton Reed has confirmed that they have officially wrapped up filming, just in time for its scheduled theatrical debut on July 31, 2015.

'Ant-Man' has been shooting in Atlanta and San Francisco and the announcement that everything's done and wrapped up came through a tweet from the director himself. Reed posted a cartoon picture of Ant-Man riding an ant and captioned it with, "And that's it!" and "The ants have left the building."

The first trailer for Ant-Man has been classified by the Alberta Film Classification board.

A trailer is usually released shortly after it is classified. It’s unclear what film the trailer would run in front of, however. The only Disney release in close proximity is Into the Woods, opening on Christmas Day, which may be too close to have the trailer ready for. However, it’s not unheard of for a studio to advertise a major film in front of another studio’s release, so perhaps it will appear in front of an unexpected film in January.

The trailer’s runtime is 1 minute and 48 seconds, so it will be more than a simple tease, and the trailer (not the film itself) is rated PG, so it will likely run in front of a film with a similar or lesser rating. The trailer will likely be release online shortly after it’s theatrical debut, if not before that.

Awesome. Ant Man has gone as scheduled despite the production issues. July 31st it is.

You're probably looking at February/March tbh. Similar release time GotG had, plus close enough to AoU to bandwagon onto that hype.
