WWF Raw Is War 04/16/2001 - Chris Benoit (w/Chris Jericho) vs. William Regal (w/Kurt Angle)

The Canadian Dream-Team rush the ring and Benoit goes to work on Regal while Jericho clotheslines Angle over the ropes and the two take their places in the corners. Benoit whips Regal into a corner and hits a suplex then climbs to the top rope and goes for the diving headbutt already but misses it. Regal gets in his shots and hits a dropkick for a near fall then hammers Benoit with forearms and caps off with a European uppercut. Regal hits a suplex that get a two count then grinds his forearm into Benoit’s face but still can’t get three. Regal kicks Benoit in the back and hits an elbowdrop for another near fall then whips him and hits an elbow. Regal hits the knee-lifts and an European uppercut then scoops him up but Benoit shifts his weight and falls on top. Regal clotheslines Benoit for a two count then slaps on a modified submission hold but Benoit doesn't submit. Benoit fights back and comes off the ropes but runs into a knee to the chest and Regal stomps him in the face. Regal hits Benoit with a double knee-lift to the face and a forearm to the back but still only gets a two count. Regal applies a chinlock over his knee and Benoit tries to fight out but Regal stops that with a Euro uppercut. Benoit grabs a wasitlock, Regal elbows him away and whips him but Benoit rolls him in a cradle for a two count. Regal knocks Benoit down and works him over in a corner but Benoit reverses position and chops away at him. Benoit whips Regal into the other corner and charges then eats a boot but comes back with a German suplex. Benoit holds on and hits a second German suplex then goes for a third but Regal tosses him through the ropes. Angle rams Benoit into the apron before throwing him back in the ring but Jericho is over to pounce on him. Regal puts Benoit in the Regal Stretch while the referee tries to break up the Jericho/Angle brawl on the floor. The referee then tries to keep Angle from going in the ring but Jericho makes it in and breaks up Regal’s hold. Benoit quickly puts Regal in the Crossface and the referee makes it back in the ring to see Regal give it up. ***1/4 Not exactly their match at the Brian Pillman Memorial Show, but it still fuckin' OWNS. It's 5 minutes of great violent holds and brutal strikes. Benoit bumps huge, and Regal using the "English" style worked so damn well.

WWF Raw Is War 04/16/2001 - WWF Intercontinental Championship: Jeff Hardy (w/Lita) vs. Triple H (w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley)

Matt Hardy watching the match on a backstage monitor. Triple H wastes no time pounding on Jeff and stomping him down in a corner then decks him with a hard right. Triple H shoulderblocks Jeff in a corner and Earl Hebner orders him to back off then whips him but eats a boot. Jeff comes off the ropes but Triple H drops him to the mat then grabs his hair and unloads on him with rights. Triple H hits a delayed suplex and follows up with a kneedrop for a two as Matt urges Jeff on from the back. Triple H continues his assault then goes for another delayed suplex but Jeff lands on his feet and gets in his shots. Jeff comes off the ropes but runs into a powerslam. Triple H tosses Jeff through the ropes then goes after him and drops him onto the steps before rolling him back in the ring. Jeff desperately tries to fight back and comes off the ropes but Triple H clotheslines him down for a near fall then covers again for another two. Triple H puts Jeff in an Abdominal Stretch and even grabs the ropes for leverage while pounding on Jeff’s chest. Triple H grabs the rope again but Hebner sees it and kicks the arm off, allowing Jeff to escape with a hiptoss. Jeff comes off the ropes yet again and yet again Triple H cuts him down, this time with a knee to the chest. Jeff comes back with a jawbreaker and whips Triple H but lowers the head and Triple H hits the facebuster. Triple H covers Jeff but Lita pulls him off so Stephanie goes over to slap her but Lita manages to block it. Lita then chases Stephanie around the ring but Triple H goes out to stand in her way forcing Lita to back off. Stephanie gets Hebner’s attention while Triple H tosses Jeff through the ropes then goes after him on the floor. However Jeff manages to grab the IC belt and clocks Triple H with it, sending him across the announce table! Jeff rams Triple H into the ringpost and the steps then into the announce table before rolling him in the ring. Jeff climbs to the top rope and connects with a missile dropkick … but only gets a two count! Jeff goes for a whip, Triple H reverses him into a corner but Jeff lifts himself over Triple H and dropkicks him. Triple H sets Jeff up for the Pedigree when Jeff counters it into the backslide but that only gets a near fall. Jeff hits a headscissors then climbs to the top rope and goes for the Whisper in the Wind but Triple H dodges it. Triple H hops to the middle rope but Jeff cuts him off with a dropkick then goes up and hits a Frankensteiner. Jeff climbs to the top again and goes for the Swanton Bomb but Triple H avoids it and both men are down. We cut to the back to see Matt’s reaction .. when Steve Austin suddenly appears and assaults Matt with a chair. Lita sees this on the TitanTron and doesn't know whether to go to the back and check on Matt or stay with Jeff. Lita eventually chooses Matt over Jeff and starts heading up the ramp, but Steve Austin emerges and cuts her off. Austin starts stalking after Lita with an evil look on his face … when we suddenly hear the bell ring? The heck? Apparently while everyone’s attention was diverted Triple H hit Jeff with the Pedigree and got the clean pin to regain the title. *** Another damn good underdog match here. There's an even better sense of desperation and crowd sympathy because now we KNOW Jeff can pin H. Therefore, all the brief hope spots and the final comeback is that much better. His dramatic selling rules, and H was a great heel here. Plus they used some of the spots they did in the first one and used counters for those spot with new ones, really good stuff here.

Post Match: Austin goes in and helps Triple H double-team Jeff then takes off his belt and whips Jeff with it. Matt comes in with a chair but Triple H cuts him off then grabs the chair himself and whacks Matt with it. Austin and Triple H continue assaulting Matt and Jeff with the chair and belt then dare Lita to come in the ring. Lita tries to back away but Stephanie tosses her in the ring and it looks like a repeat of last Monday is coming. Austin and Triple H move in … when the lights go out before The Undertaker and Kane come out to the stage. Taker and Kane slowly make their way down the ramp with Austin and Triple H signaling they’re ready to go. However once Taker and Kane slide in the ring Austin and Triple H bail out to the floor and back up the ramp. Yep, after the past week suggested Matt and Jeff would be the next big stars, it’s Undertaker and Kane who are going to be challenging Austin and Triple H, instantly killing any shot the Hardyz had at a push.

Chris Benoit vs Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship - SMACKDOWN! Edmonton, AB, CA 2001.

The story here was part of the ongoing feud between Benoit/Jericho and Austin/HHH. The previous RAW saw Benoit almost defeat Stone Cold, which led to Benoit and Jericho calling out McMahon the next episode of Smackdown. The Crowd was smoking hot behind Benoit, 110%, and Austin was given the night off by Mr McMahon after Benoit wanted a rematch for the WWF Championship. Austin would have no part of taking the night off, however, and immediately came out to tell Benoit and McMahon that he was the WWF Champion and he wasnt going to take the night off. In a fit of anger and rage, as the fans and maybe even himself and McMahon were not fully convinced that he, Austin, could ever beat Benoit in a decisive, clean manner in a straight up one on one match, Austin told Benoit that he got his match, and he would lose again.

The match was intense, it started out with Benoit, whom was nursing injured ribs from a previous TLC match a week or so earlier, attacking Austin and hammering away on the rattlesnake much to the delight of his hometown. Benoit started laying a clinic on Austin, until the heelish antics of Austin caught him off guard, and the tables were turned.

This match included so many finisher reversals, many submission counters, a few hard hitting shots with the belt, a very nasty and "Holy shit!" inspiring bump Benoit took after a suplex onto the announce table, and 10, thats right, 10 German suplexes in a row dealt to Austin.

WWE Money in the Bank 2011 - WWE Championship: Champion John Cena vs. CM Punk

Without out a doubt wrestling's Match of the Year for 2011. Everything fell into place with this match in a storytelling sense and a wrestling sense. The crowd was electric, and was completely into this one, it had the buzz that had been missing from a Pro Wrestling match from me for sometime. The action also was fantastic. I give the WWE mad props for giving Cena and Punk a full 35 minutes to tell a story and they deliver, and told an AMAZING STORY. It was a classic case of both guys going back and forth, giving a technical showcase and a big back and forth feel, with no man getting a major advantage for minutes on end, and the turned it up towards the end, with some great near falls down the stretch. Even the Ace/McMahon sighting made helped the match, as Cena used it in a great storytelling moment, NOT wanting to repeat the Montreal Screwjob of 97′, only for Punk to take advantage and win the WWE Championship in one of the most stunning title changes in recent memory. This would totally be a five star match it it wasn't for some of the mishaps and botches. ****3/4

WWE WrestleMania 28 - WWE Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho

So before the match Team Johnny walks past the WWE champion CM Punk. He smugly informs him that if Punk loses his temper and gets disqualified, he'll lose the title. Damn i forgot how good this was, sure it started off slow but it was them feeling each other out. it damn sure picked up when Jericho was trollin' him trying to get Punk DQ'ed. The counters and near falls towards the end of the match were great. I especially loved Jericho’s top rope counter into the Walls of Jericho. Just a FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC job by both men. They sold the intensity of the feud with the build up and promos surrounding Punks family and delivered in the ring. It's just a shame the crowd was dead for most of it. ****1/4 - ****1/2

Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker - Wrestlemania 26 - Streak vs Career

One of the greatest matches of Wrestlemania history for sure. I don't know how many times I've watched it but I never get bored. Two great legends and a great match. Crowd is good, match is good, both of legends are great. Excitement is at the highest level, also the passion and the emotions. Because at the end of the match, either that great streak is over or Shawn Michaels' career would have end. In both ways an era would end. Lots of great moments happened at this match. Moonsault to the announcement table, Tombstone at outside, Superkicks, Last Ride, Hell's Gate, Chokeslams, diving elbow drops, great reversals and counters. Every single time I watch this match, I get a little sad because I never watched this two great legends live.

WWF Smackdown 04/19/2001 - Tables Match: The Dudley Boyz vs. Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho

Bubba Ray tosses Benoit through the ropes and goes after him on the floor while Jericho tees off on D’Von in a corner. Jericho goes for a whip, D’Von reverses him into a corner and eats a boot but catches Jericho with a powerslam as Angle looks on. D’Von whips Jericho and hits the jumping elbow then whips him again but Jericho comes back with a forearm followed by a dropkick. D’Von rolls out to the apron when Jericho connects with the springboard dropkick but Bubba comes in and plants Jericho with a Samoan Drop. Benoit comes in and hammers away on Bubba then Benoit goes for a whip, Bubba reverses him into a corner and eats a double boot but nails Benoit with the Bubbabomb. Benoit fights back with chops and goes for a whip but Bubba reverses him into a corner and slams him. Bubba then sets Benoit up as D’Von climbs to the top rope and hits the “Wassup” headbutt as Angle continues to observe. The Dudleys go out and grab a table when Jericho goes for a baseball slide but the Dudleys raise the table up and ram it into Jericho’s face. The Dudleys set the table up in the ring then go for a double flapjack on Benoit through the table but Jericho moves it just in time. Jericho nails D’Von with a spinning heelkick but eats a right hand from Bubba. Bubba places Jericho onto the table as D’Von climbs to the top rope but Benoit cuts him off. Bubba clubs Benoit in the back but Jericho knocks Bubba through the ropes. Benoit and Jericho then go to superplex D’Von through the table but Bubba moves it to prevent that as well. Bubba clotheslines Jericho over the ropes when Benoit grabs him with a waistlock, Bubba fights out of it and goes for the Bubbabomb but Benoit counters into a German suplex. Benoit holds on for a second German then goes to put Bubba through the table with a third German suplex but D’Von moves it to save Bubba. Jericho climbs to the top rope and connects with a missile dropkick on D’Von. The Chris's set the table up and Benoit places D’Von on it while Jericho goes for a Liondsault but Bubba trips him from the floor. Benoit climbs to the top rope looking for the diving headbutt through the table when Angle runs down and shoves Benoit off the top through the table, which somehow gets the Dudleys the victory. **1/2 Entertaining match there but can someone explain how Angle putting Benoit through the table means the Dudleys win?

WWF Smackdown 04/19/2001 - No-DQ Match For The WWF World Tag Team Titles: Edge & Christian (w/Rhyno) vs. The Undertaker & Kane

Edge, Christian and Rhyno triple-team Kane while Taker rides to the ring on his motorcycle. Taker heads in and manages to clear Edge and Rhyno out then goes out after Edge leaving Christian and Kane. Kane plants Christian with a sidewalk slam and hits a clothesline then Christian goes after Kane’s bad arm but Kane swats him away and pounds him down in a corner. Christian slips out of the corner and gets in his own shots then goes for the count-along punches but Kane shoves him off and decks Edge off the apron. Kane manages to hit a one-arm powerslam then brings Edge in the ring and hits him with a big boot. Kane goes for the ropes and Rhyno nails him from behind to distract him as Christian moves in but Kane backdrops Christian over the ropes where Taker meets him with a right hand on the floor. In the ring Kane grabs Edge by the throat for a chokeslam but Rhyno comes in and Gores Kane. Edge lays the boots to Kane and kicks at the bad arm. Kane kicks him away and crawls to his corner but Edge cuts off the tag, even thought it’s no-DQ and Taker should just be able to come in whenever he wants. Edge applies an armwringer on the bad arm and Kane tries to fight back but Edge hits an amrbar slam. Taker breaks up the pin but is ordered out of the ring by Earl Hebner, again even though the match is no-DQ. Christian comes in without a tag and tees off on Kane’s bad arm then locks in a short-arm scissors. Kane manages to roll over and get to his feet with Christian on his arm and suplex him. Kane crawls over to his corner and makes the tag to Taker but Edge distracts Hebner who misses it. Hebner orders Taker out of the ring while E&C pull Kane to their corner and Edge lays the boots to him. Both men exchange punches and Edge goes for a whip but Kane slings Edge into a corner and hits a suplex. Christian comes in but Kane clotheslines him down then crawls to his corner and makes the hot tag to Taker. Taker takes it to both E&C and whips Christian hitting a backdrop then nails Edge with a big boot. Taker works over E&C in opposite corners before clotheslining Edge over the ropes. Taker grabs Christian by the throat when Rhyno comes in with a chair and whacks Taker in the back. Christian crawls over and covers Taker but only gets a two count. Rhyno starts to work over Taker when Kane grabs him for a chokeslam but Rhyno kicks the bad arm and clotheslines him over the ropes. Kane lands on his feet on the floor as Rhyno goes out after him but Kane boots him down on the ramp. E&C double-team Taker in the ring while Kane chokeslam Rhyno on the ramp. Steve Austin and Triple H run out and beat Kane down on the floor as E&C continue to assault Taker. E&c bring a pair of chairs in the ring and go for the Con-Chairto but Taker ducks the shot. Taker pops Edge then plants Christian with the Last Ride and gets the three for the belts! Austin and Triple H prevent a celebration by rushing the ring and double-teaming Taker. Kane comes in swinging a chair with his good arm and manages to clear Austin and Triple H from the ring and we have a stare-down to finish the show. **1/2 Taker and Kane get their first tag titles as a duo as well as a match with Austin and Triple H. Okay main event but got overbooked toward the finish and it would mark the end of E&C’s last tag title run together:(

WWF Raw Is War 04/23/2001 - Steve Austin, Triple H, Edge & Christian (w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley) vs. The Undertaker, Kane & The Hardys (w/Lita)

All eight men pair off and go at it to start with Austin and Kane spilling out to the floor. Kane throws Austin across the announce table and continues to work him over while Taker uppercuts Triple H over the ropes then goes out and rams him into the steps. Edge and Christian go out for the save but the brothers quickly turn their attention to them and toss them back in the ring. The Hardyz whip Edge into a corner and Matt drops into position while Jeff hits the Poetry in Motion. Matt whips Christian into a corner then drops down again and Jeff hits the Poetry in Motion on Christian followed by the double legdrop. Christian comes back with a knee to the chest then clubs Jeff in the back and throws him to the mat. Christian lays the boots to Jeff then pops him with a right hand and chokes him on the mat. Austin tags in but Jeff quickly makes the tag to Taker and Taker hammers Austin then whips him and hits a boot. Triple H comes in but Taker catches him with a boot then whips him and hits a backdrop. Taker clotheslines Austin in a corner before clotheslining Triple H over the ropes. Kane tags in then climbs to the top rope and hits the flying clothesline. Kane pops E&C off the apron then grabs Ausitn by the throat for a chokeslam but Triple H breaks it up by going for Kane’s bad arm. Austin hits an armbar takedown and lays the boots to Kane before Triple H joins him for a double-team until Taker decks him. Triple H distracts Earl Hebner while Austin stomps Kane below the belt. Triple H wrenches Kane’s arm on the top rope and Austin hits an elbowdrop followed by a series of rights. Triple H tags in and applies an armwringer on the bad arm then works over the arm before tagging Edge in. Edge takes over with an armbar and Kane tries to fight back but Austin breaks it up with a sledge prompting Taker to come in and get in a shot. Christian comes in without a tag and stomps on Kane’s arm and Triple H rams it into the ring apron. Edge tags in and lays the boots to Kane before applying a standing armbar but Kane kicks him away. Kane hits a big boot on Edge and starts crawling to his corner but Austin and Triple H cut off the tag. Triple H pulls Kane back to his corner then distracts Hebner while the others triple-team Kane from the floor. Taker and the Hardyz head out to break it up while Kane clotheslines Triple H and crawls to his empty corner. Matt gets back to accept the hot tag from Kane then hammers away on Triple H in a corner. Matt goes for a whip, Triple H reverses him into the opposite corner then charges and eats a boot but comes back with a neckbreaker. Triple H covers Matt when Taker breaks up the pin then gabs Triple H by the throat but turns to deal with Edge and Christian. Taker grabs Triple H again and manages to hit the chokeslam but Edge grabs his leg to prevent the cover. E&C pull Taker out to the floor and work him over while Matt covers Triple H in the ring but Hebner is too busy with the outside action to see it. Austin heads in and breaks the pin up then nails Matt with the Stunner and Triple H is able to cover him for the pin. ***1/4 Super hot crowd for 8 minutes of great tag wrestling. The Hardyz/E&C tore it up mainly cause they knew each other like they are family by this point and know how to work a crowd in their sleep. The HEAT SEGMENT on Kane was great it made the Power Trip look like one of the most hateable heel team ever cause of the work they did on Kane's arm which was VIOLENT and AWESOME.

WWF Smackdown 04/26/2001 - Duchess of Queensbury Rules: Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle & William Regal

All four men go at it to start and Jericho tosses Regal over the ropes and helps Benoit double-team Angle in a corner. Regal comes in but the Chris's double-team him when Angle tries to make the save but Benoit and Jericho sidesteps him and Angle ends up splashing Regal. Benoit grabs Angle for a German suplex but Angle trips Benoit up and goes right into the Anklelock. Jericho breaks that up with a dropkick but Regal nails him with a forearm and goes for the Regal Stretch. Benoit stomps Angle to break that up but Regal takes Benoit down by the leg then locks knuckles with him. Benoit kips up for a test of strength but Regal hits a monkey flip while keeping the knuckles locked. Regal goes for a whip but Benoit counters with a Dragon suplex. Benoit goes for the Crossface when Angle breaks it up so Benoit knocks him through the ropes with a forearm. Jericho tags in and chops Regal into the ropes then whips him and hits an elbow as Angle makes a blind tag. Jericho hiptosses Angle right onto Regal and hits a chop then goes for a whip, Angle reverses it but Jericho hits a crossbody for a two count. Jericho goes for a whip when Angle tosses him over the ropes but Jericho lands on his feet on the apron then climbs to the top rope and connects with a flying elbow. Jericho whips Angle who gets a waistlock and goes for a suplex but Jericho rolls through it into the Walls of Jericho. Regal comes in but Jericho catches him with a forearm then Jericho clotheslines Angle before tagging in Benoit. Benoit hits some chops when Angle rakes the face and goes for a whip but Benoit reverses and hits a knee to the chest followed by a chop. Benoit whips Angle into a corner and hits a German suplex then holds on but Regal breaks it up. Regal tags in and hits the kneelifts then whips Benoit and hits an elbow. Angle tags in to take over on Benoit and hits a snap suplex for a two count. Regal tags in and hits a European uppercut and goes for a whip, Benoit reverses into a corner but Regal stops himself. Both men collide then start crawling to their corners and Angle tags Regal while Benoit tags Jericho. Jericho hits a pair of forearms on Angle then pops Regal off the apron and bulldogs Angle. Jericho goes for a whip, Angle reverses him into a corner and charges but eats a boot. Jericho hops to the middle rope and connects with a missile dropkick then covers as Regal comes in. Regal tries to make the save with an elbowdrop but misses Jericho and nails Angle by mistake. Jericho dropkicks Regal out to the floor then goes for a whip and Angle reverses but lowers the head. Jericho kicks the face and comes off the ropes but Angle tosses him onto the rope ar Regal snaps it back. Regal tags in and whips Jericho but misses a clothesline and Jericho rolls him up for a near fall. Regal hits his own dropkick then tags Angle back in and Angle chokes Jericho on the middle rope. Angle hits a back suplex for a two count then applies a chinlock and Jericho counters with a jawbreaker. Jericho crawls to his corner but Regal tags in and pops Benoit off the apron to prevent a tag. Regal puts Jericho in a modified surfboard but Benoit comes in and breaks it up and Angle tags in. Angle stomps Jericho down then whips him but Jericho hits a flying forearm and crawls to his corner. Angle grabs Jericho’s leg but Jericho kicks him away with an enzuigiri and makes the hot tag to Benoit. Benoit takes it to both men and whips Angle into a belly-to-belly suplex then follows up with a DDT. Benoit knocks Regal off the apron then climbs to the top rope and connects with the diving headbutt. Regal breaks up the pin and hits Benoit with the inverted neckbreaker then goes for the cover himself but Jericho saves it and plants Regal with a Fireman’s carry. Jericho then connects with the Lionsault and covers Regal but Angle breaks it up and hits the Olympic Slam. Angle tries for the pin but Benoit pulls him off and tosses him over the ropes then goes out after him on the floor. Benoit hits another chop and goes for a whip but Angle sends him into the ringsteps. Jericho puts Regal in the Walls of Jericho but Angle comes back in and nails Jericho from behind then helps Regal double-team him. Regal slaps on the Regal Stretch while Angle adds an Anklelock and Jericho is forced to tap but the referee DQ’s Angle and Regal instead. Tony Chimel is about to announce the decision but Regal interrupts him and says that’s not happening. Regal says the Duchess of Queensbury Rules allow both men to put their submissions on their opponent and that there’s no disqualification so therefore he and Angle are the winners. *** Very fun match just a shame about the screwy ending, since all four men actually had time to put something together unlike the Raw match which got 2 minutes.

WWF Smackdown 04/26/2001 - WWF European Title: Eddie Guerrero (w/Perry Saturn & Terri) vs. Matt Hardy (w/Jeff Hardy & Lita)

Eddie’s scheduled to defend the title against Raven on Sunday so this is just a tuneup before the pay-per-view, right? Anyway Eddie starts off with a waistlock, Matt switches behind him but Eddie counters it with an armdrag. Eddie follows up with a headscissors when Matt slips out so Eddie applies an armwringer but Matt counters into his own hold and Eddie tries to flip out of it. Matt applies an armbar and Eddie goes for a whip but Matt reverses him into a corner and taunts him then hits a pair of armdrags. Matt slaps on another armbar but Eddie forces him into a corner to break it. Eddie gets in some shots but Matt reverses positions and tees off on Eddie then goes for a whip but Eddie trips Matt into the turnbuckles. Eddie lays the boots to Matt and chokes him then hits a suplex. Eddie goes out to the apron and slings himself over the ropes into a hilo for a two count. Eddie pounds on Matt and hammers him in a corner with shoulder-blocks then whips him into the other corner and charges but Matt lifts himself over and Eddie and manages a victory roll for a two count. Eddie clotheslines Matt down and chokes him with his boot then hits a back suplex for a near fall. Eddie applies a keylock, Matt fights out of it and comes off the ropes but Eddie slaps on a sleeper. Matt shoves Eddie off and applies his own sleeper but Eddie shoves him off and goes back to his sleeper when Matt counters that with a back suplex. Matt gets in his own shots and caps off with a discus punch then catapults Eddie into the turnbuckle. Matt slams Eddie then climbs to the middle rope and connects with the guillotine legdrop but only gets two. Matt comes off the ropes but Eddie tosses him through them on the other side. Eddie goes out after Matt but Matt rams him into the ringsteps then clotheslines him. Matt tosses Eddie back in the ring then climbs to the top rope but Saturn crotches him on the turnbuckle. Jeff runs along the barricade and clotheslines Saturn while Eddie hits Matt with a huricanrana off the top rope for a two count. Saturn rams Jeff into the ringsteps then charges but Jeff trips him into the steps. Terri kicks Jeff so Lita chases Terri into the ring and Eddie and the referee try to get her back out. However Lita climbs to the top rope as Matt grabs Eddie from behind and shoves him into a huricanrana from Lita. Matt quickly follows up with the Twist of Fate and gets the 1..2..3 for the title! Matt wins just his second singles title and celebrates with Lita and Jeff in the ring. *** Fun 7 minute match. Eddie, I believe, has begun to get excessively pilled up, as he fucks up some basic shit early on and Matt leads him. But it just seems too much like this was supposed to be some sort of consolation prize for the Hardyz after getting dumped from the main event story line back to the mid-card.

ROH The Homecoming 2005 - Low Ki, Homicide, & Ricky Reyes vs. Samoa Joe, James Gibson, & Jay Lethal

That was one hell of a chaotic match, and it all worked, with very little resting and lots of hard hitting action from start to end. But it really felt like it was missing that something once and twice, but that's okay as long as it is delivered on in the future. Lethal looked really strong in this match as he just seems to get better and better. And the Rottweilers were on game for this I also really enjoyed the Ki/Gibson stuff. ***1/2

ROH The Homecoming 2005 - ROH World Championship: CM Punk vs. Christopher Daniels (w/Allison Danger)

This is a really good match, and it had a ton of psychology and the storytelling, but it didn't feel that special. Perhaps it’s because everyone was expecting a more hate-filled brawl…but personally this felt like a better way to go. Both Punk and Daniels have reputations for being cerebral wrestlers and watching them attempt to one-up each other for 60 minutes was great. The opening stuff, with Punk dicking it up the crowd OWNED. Then these two methodically and sadistically decimating a body part, both setting up for a potential finisher. I loved the use of a ref bump, it was in keeping with the rest of Punk’s scummy, cheap title reign which has seen finisher theft, grabbing the ropes, chain assaults. Don't get me wrong this wasn't perfect. As in a couple of paces this was a little slow and some stuff didn't make sense or really have anything to do with the story, and Daniels did NO-Sell the ribs at time and same is said for Punk with his neck, but all those aside i found it enjoyable. ***1/2 - ***3/4 Whilst I loved the methodical and cerebral pace, some won’t and just call it slow but what can i say it's one of my guilty pleasure matches (WE ALL HAVE THEM)
