(c) Brian Pillman vs. Scotty Flamingo, for the Light heavyweight title. Beach Blast '92. They lock-up, and Flamingo does a waistlock. Pillman tries a hammerlock. Flamingo with a quick drop toehold. Pillman puts him in a hammerlock. Pillman keeps the hammerlock locked in, but Flamingo gets to the rope. Pillman with an MMA-style armbar on Flamingo. Flamingo leverages it into a schoolboy. Ref Mike Atkins is clearly blind as Flamingo is pulling Pillman's tights while he's making the count.

Pillman goes back to the hammerlock. It's supposed to be a high-flying match but Pillman has turned it into a scientific contest. Flamingo snapmare's him and climbs the second turnbuckle for a fistdrop. Pillman clotheslines Flamingo over the rope onto the entrance ramp. Flamingo was down, but Pillman took too much time playing to the crowd. Pillman then tries a flying bodypress over the top rope but Flamingo moves out of the way. Pillman head slams hard against the ramp. Flamingo tosses him back into the ring and pins him cleanly.

British Bulldog vs. IRS w/Jimmy Hart. UK Rampage '92. Davey with a side headlock on IRS. Schyster pushes him to the ropes to try to break the hold. Davey runs off the ropes and takes IRS down with a shoulderblock. This sequence of moves repeats itself in the opening minutes: Davey Boy with a side headlock. IRS pushes him off, goes for a drop down, and Bulldog takes him down with a running shoulderblock. IRS would then leave the ring for a brief respite.

IRS surprises Bulldog with an Enziguri. He wears Davey down with an abdominal stretch and grabs the top rope for extra leverage whenever the ref is checking on Smith. IRS wears him down with a rear chinlock. Davey Boy breaks the hold, but when he tries to run off the ropes Schyster stops him with a knee to his abdomen. Davey Boy with a succession of standing headbutts on IRS. He puts the taxman away with the running powerslam.

 

[Geese]

Jay White vs. Eddie Kingston. Battle in the Valley. White blindsides him with a reverse knife edge. He stomps away on Kingston in the corner. White connects with a Running European Uppercut on Kingston against the turnbuckles and follows it up with a single underhook Exploder suplex. White Rock Bottoms him but only gets a two-count. White executes The Blade Runner, but Kingston is smart enough to roll out of the ring. Kingston hits White with a succession of backfists and beats White with a standing powerslam.

Kingston had a pot belly and was wearing street clothes. White did the offensive moves in the match while Kingston mostly did reverse knife edge chops and Kobashi chops.

(c) Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi. Battle in the Valley. Tanahashi takes control with a wristlock. As Okada runs off the ropes, Tanahashi catches him with an armdrag and keeps him grounded with an armbar. Okada Irish whips Tanahashi, softly, against the turnbuckles. Tanahashi catches a running Okada with a back elbow and follows it up with a cross body off the second turnbuckles. Tanahashi scoop slams Okada and connects with a Swanton bomb off the second turnbuckle. Tanahashi with a short dropkick to Okada's leg. Okada tries a boot, but Tanahashi counters with a dragon screw leg whip.

Okada connects with his flying elbow, but it wasn't as pinpoint as he would've liked it because Tanahashi was lifting his legs. Okada sets him up for a Rainmaker but Tanahashi counters with a full nelson, converting it into a German suplex. Okada tries his Rainmaker, once again, but Tanahashi kicks him in his left knee. Okada keeps Tanahashi locked in a wristlock and tries another Rainmaker but Tanahashi counters with a sling blade. Okada executes an emerald flowsion and finally puts him away with a Rainmaker.

Tanahashi was the ring general and, though he lost, he showed Okada was getting predictable.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. (c) Lance Archer for Archer's IWGP US title. Resurgence 2021. Archer executes a running Senton from the edge of the ring apron on Tanahashi. He Irish whips Tanahashi against the steel rails. Tanahashi is badly hurt and it doesn't look like he's going to get back into the ring on-time but Archer isn't satisfied with a count-out win.

Archer connects with three successive running back elbows on Tanahashi, who's defenseless against the turnbuckles. Tanahashi tries to fight off Archer with slaps to his chest. Tanahashi runs off the ropes, but Archer stops him with a big boot. Tanahashi connects with a sling blade and a twist-and-shout. Tanahashi runs off the ropes, again, but Archer stops him with a clothesline. Archer wristlocks Tanahashi and does The Rock Bottom. As they duke it out on the top turnbuckle, Hiroshi gets the better of it. Archer is out on the canvas. Tanahashi executes three high fly flo's to become the new US Champ.

(c) Josh Alexander vs. Kenta for the Impact World title. Kenta tries a rake to the eyes, but it doesn't have much effect as Josh recovers and counters with a side headlock takedown. Kenta with several kicks to Alexander's chest, which forces him out of the ring.

Kenta reverses Josh's Irish whip but was lackadaisical when he ducked his head down for a back bodydrop attempt. Josh with a waistlock, thinking of a German suplex but Kenta grabs the rope. Kenta with a front facelock and tries a DDT, but Josh stops it by ramming him to the turnbuckles. Kenta connects with a draping DDT. Kenta tries a Samoan drop but Josh fights it off. Josh flapjacks Kenta, forehead first, onto an exposed turnbuckle. Josh performs his C4 Spike to retain his title.

Dirty Dango & Joe Hendry vs. Angels and Sami Callihan w/Eric Deaner. Impact Wrestling 4/13. Callihan sneak attacks Hendry at the opening bell. He executes an exploder suplex hoping for a quick pin. Dango with a Russian leg sweep on Callihan, but he took too much time strutting. He follows it up with a legdrop but it doesn't affect Callihan. Callihan does a Spicolli driver on Dango. Callihan argues with Eric Deaner, which gave Hendry enough time to pin Angels. Angels flew right into Hendry's arms for a fallaway slam. When Santino pulled out socko, Angels was dazed but had more than enough time to get out of the ring. Instead, he staggered right into Santino's punch. It felt heavily scripted.

Technically watching it right now but it's been very stellar so far. Martyr is a fun guy to watch, he's got a lot of potential. Hot crowd too!

Jordynne Grace vs. Masha Slamovich. Impact, April 27th episode. Jordynne with a wristlock. Masha tries a snapmare, but Jordynne gets up and takes Masha down with a shoulderblock. Jordynne goes back to the wristlock. Masha tries a Russian leg sweep but Jordynne simply takes her down.

Jordynne with Vader splash from the second ropes. Masha tries a suplex but Jordynne drops to one knee to stop the move and counters with her own snap suplex. Masha tries a go-behind, but Jordynne counters with a European Uppercut. Masha clamps on a sleeper and then converts it into a unique German suplex. After jockeying back-and-forth with several pinning attempts, Jordynne eventually pins Masha with a victory roll.

Solid opening match.

Kon & Angels w/Eric Deaner vs. (C) Ace Austin & Chris Bey in a non-title match. Impact, April 27th episode. Angels with a neckbreaker on Bey. Angels puts him in a side headlock. Bey picks Angels up for a side suplex attempt but Angels lands on his feet.

Kon with a running splash on Ace, who's defenseless against the turnbuckles. Kon with a bodydrop on Ace and Angels follows it up with a missile dropkick from the second ropes. The Design are taking turns wearing down Austin. Ace eventually gets some offense in with with a right uppercut on Angels but misses an Enziguri. Angels ducks and counters with a half-Nelson suplex. Bey does his Art of Finesse on Angels. Ace finishes him off with the Fold.

(c) Steve Maclin vs. Rhino for Maclin's World title. Impact 5-11-2023. Maclin starts with a wristlock. Rhino counters with his own wristlock, turns it into a hammerlock and a side headlock. Rhino Irish whips Maclin to the turnbuckles and follows it up with a clothesline. He Atomic drops Maclin onto the steel guard rails. Maclin starts targeting Rhino's surgically repaired left leg. Maclin locks in a single leg grapevine and twists Rhino's leg repeatedly. Rhino perches Maclin up the top turnbuckle, but it took him awhile because his left leg was still hurting but he eventually executes a superplex. Rhino calls for the gore, but he's limping in agony. Maclin takes advantage with a chop block. Maclin puts Rhino with his own finisher, The Gore.

Maclin showed a killer instinct but he didn't cheat to get the win.

Bret Hart vs. Jerry Lawler in a Kiss My Foot match. King of the Ring '95. Bret with several body punches and a headbutt to Lawler. Lawler is reeling. Bret continues with several right hooks to his body. Lawler with three successive piledrivers on Bret, but he spent too much taunting the crowd. Bret tries to fight back but Lawler rakes him in the eyes. Lawler also spent a lot of time taking of his right boot. It gave The Hitman enough time to mount an offense. Bret with three successive elbows on Lawler's forehead. Hakushi and Shinja rush down the ring. Shinja distracts the ref. Lawler sneaks up behind Bret and grabs both of his arms--setting him up to get karate chopped by Hakushi. Bret moves out of the way and Hakushi accidentally karate thrusts Lawler in the throat.

Bret with a Russian Leg Sweep, a side backbreaker, and an elbowdrop off the second turnbuckles. He wraps Lawler up in the sharpshooter for the win. The Hitman finally gets his revenge on Lawler, as they've been feuding on and off since KOTR '93. Bret slowly unties his boot and puts his foot in Lawler's mouth.

The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer vs. Mabel w/Mo. King of the Ring quarterfinals. Undertaker with several uppercuts on Mabel. He executes a flying clothesline on Mabel but he doesn't go down. The Deadman runs off the ropes and connects with a flying clothesline. Mabel eventually goes down. The Deadman with his signature wristlock, climbs the top rope and comes down hard with a fistdrop to Mabel's back. Mabel with a double forearm which sends him over the ropes. Mabel wears him down with a camel clutch. Mabel picks him up for a piledriver.

When the ref was unconscious, Kama rushes in and attacks Undertaker. Mabel then legdrops him for the win.
