NoDQ.com > TNA > Lance Storm blasts TNA's unprotected chair shots
Posted by Mark Virginia on 04/06/2010 at 05:57 PM

The following is an excerpt from StormWrestling.com:

TNA: I'm Done
By Lance Strom

Well folks I’m done. I’m not going to rant, I’m not going to tell you all the things I hated about Impact this week, because none of it matters, I’m just done; I’m done watching Impact for good. I’ve stopped watching before just for my own sanity and peace of mind, but each of those times I intended it to be a temporary break. This time I’m not planning on coming back and checking to see if things have gotten better after a while, I’m washing my hands of the whole thing; I’m done.

The straw that broke the camels back for me was the unprotected chair shot to the head of Rob Terry by Homicide. Yes they have done chair shots to the head before, and they bothered me then too, but this one was different; this unprotected chair shot to the head came just 2 days after Chris Kanyon’s suicide death and I just couldn’t stomach it. I know there will be defenders out there that will want to argue that Chris Kanyon’s depression that led to his suicide has not been determined to as a result of concussions he suffered due to chair shots to the head, but that is just a cop out, in my opinion.

That was definitely a WTF Moment last night. Homicide didn't really smack him, he threw the chair directly to his forehead. It was one nasty site to see. He is one tough bastard to stay standing after that without protecting himself. Big Rob was legitimately busted open which was crazy.

Since when did they start calling him "the freak"? Big Rob sounded way better. The freak sounds too generic.

I thought that chair shot was a bit nasty.... The moment got taken away by Orlando Jordans cumshot. But i get where Lance Storm is coming from, that should not have happened.

you should goto StormWrestling.com and read the whole thing. I totally understand his gripe. Its so stupid that in the day and age we are in that anyone in TNA would still say "hey you know what a good idea is, a ligit unprotected chair shot to the head to prove how tough Rob Terry is"

-- Lance Storm talks about boycotting iMPACT! at StormWrestling.com. Note from Ryan Clark: I love when people about TNA. Although that wasn't TNA's best effort on Monday night by any means, I'd love to see many fans who complain write a two hour weekly program any better. If you're not a fan of TNA, simply don't watch it! Problem solved, no? Also, competition is good for business so why anyone in their right mind would root against them is beyond me. It's not all of you, just a few idiots.

Ryan Clark is an idiot. Always has been, always will.

I think just about every fan could book better than OJ squirting himself with cream.

I think the real reason that Storm and others find themselves upset with TNA when they do things like unprotected head shots and repelling down rafters is not nessesarily of any danger involved, but because TNA is doing what WWE would like to do but cant because there are elections to win and shareholders/investors to appease. Essentially TNA enjoys the freedom of putting on a unpredictable event, whereas WWE are bound by all the 'safegaurds' and 'precautions' they have set up in this post-Benoit wrestling era. One thing baffles me however. It appears that TNA aren't even close to catching WWE in the ratings, yet still all the fanboys, geeks and members of the WWE Universe appear to be more nervous now than they ever been. If TNA isn't real competition, than why all the scrutiny? Why all the analysis of how TNA should run their show?? I don't get it.

Nervous? Are you serious? All the comments I have heard from people are about making fun of how hard TNA is failing.

I love it how you try to imply that TNA is actually competition to WWE. Im sorry, but there's no way in hell 0.86 is competive to 3.3. None, there's no way to look at it that will make it look like it.

Then again, you are trying to pass it off as if unprotected chair shots to the head of people is something ok to do, which just kills any argument a sane people could have with you

Yes, deep down I wish to encourage unneeded unprotected chair shots and subsequent results, such as brain damage. It's just because WWE don't advocate it that I pretend I don't either.

The chair shot to the head was uncalled for. But that site of him being hit and the legit blood dripping down was kinda cool. So by doing, but cool after math. Someone backstage seems to be high on Terry so I wonder if anything will come out of this.

Bet Stormstarts blogging about Impact again before the end of the month.

iMPACT! is awful so I don't blame Lance for quitting, but I loved reading his rants even if he was nitpicking a bit. Its always fun to see how pissed off he'd get, because the show really is that bad.
