Kofi & Truth Officially Split - Truth Forming A New Tag?

We noted a few weeks back that WWE officials booked Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler on RAW because they were considering doing another singles run with him. As noted last night, Kofi split from R-Truth on good terms in a WWE.com exclusive video. This is the beginning of Kofi's singles push and he's in line for another run with the Intercontinental Title.

- As noted before, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth have split up on good terms to pursue singles careers. The segment with Truth and Brodus Clay on last night's RAW was done because they're considering a tag team with the two. Before this weekend, they were looking at changing Clay's Funkasaurus gimmick altogether.

So first of all, i'm glad they have split now because like the video says, mission accomplished. I do think they brought some fire back to the division especially Kofi even back during his Air-Boom days and now that the WWE seems intent on pushing the division again and have added numerous tag teams to the ranks, they can part ways without it hurting the depth of the division.

An Intercontinental run is probably a sideways step for Kofi really but given we're almost approaching the road to WrestleMania, it's probably better than nothing at all really.

I heard the news a while back about Vince I think it was being down on the Funkasauras gimmick so when I saw the segment with him and Truth last night, I did feel like a heel turn was coming for Clay. I'd probably prefer the monster Clay back because I thought he was excellent during his SD run with Berty against E&C, but I guess there's a comedy team potential with him and Truth even though we already have one of those in Team CoBro.

Glad they went a different route with this. Rather than do the typical turn them on each other and do a feud they just had them go their separate ways which was for the best. Don't know about Truth and Brodus teaming but we'll see how that goes just glad Kofi is solo again.

Like PHX said, I'm glad they did it this way instead of having them turn on one another. I loved them as a tag-team, I'm a big fan of them both. That said, I hope the WWE let them go for some titles.

I'm not a fan of how they split, if your gonna have a team split that has been together since WM this year, why not get something out of it. You didn't even have to have a heel turn, you could of simple have a segment with them saying "we will not be getting the tag titles again, so i feel we got our saturate ways"

Actually I think that this will be a good move for both. Kofi Kingston looks set to feud with The Miz and R-Truth is a lot better as a singles competitor. I liked him a lot when he returned to the company 3-4 years back and I believe he was going to get a push and then something happened which meant he was off TV for a while. I believe he may have broken the Wellness Policy. However, I think Kingston and Miz will have a decent feud. Truth is more or less that joke wrestler within the company.

Disagree have never been a big fan Truth fan I think in his team his weakness were hidden. Kingston has always impressived me but at the time WWE had lost interest in his singles push so it kind of made sense. Maybe a feud with someone like The Miz or a IC Title run is the way to go.

Don't care about Kofi at all but glad that Truth might be on his own again, he was gold last year when he first started up the Little Jimmy gimmick.

Kofi will get a decent feud with Miz, most likely go back to doing nothing afterwards.

He shouldn't have said anything before he attacked Miz, just take him out and make belt motions to the crowd, he shouldn't do promos, not his strong suit.

I think this works for both sides, Kofi can get back in the mid card, and hopefully he can get another title run with the IC title. I think Truth teaming with Clay could work.

Excellent news really. They never seemed like a tag team at all. Hopefully Truth goes back to being heel and starts going on about conspiracy again. That shit was gold.

Gotta' say, I was really hoping for a Truth heel turn on Raw, dude was so entertaining last year.

His heel turn is what made him a goof in the first place, Truth never changed, except he dropped the angry black man gimmick.

R-Truth becoming a goof made him so entertaining because lets face it, he was a stale generic face for a few years when he returned to the company.

Truth sucks as a face, kinda bland and boring. Hopefully he goes heel again soon as I love his heel run. Kofi is whatever, he'll always be around and I guess he's a decent mid carder.
