As reported by Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE chairman Vince McMahon recently "threw a fit" about the working ability of certain main roster talent, ordering some of those in his crosshairs to do additional training at the Performance Center.

Meltzer noted that, in particular, some of the talent that drew McMahon's ire are of the larger variety. PW Insider's Mike Johnson put some names to that Friday, reporting Keith Lee, Otis, Dabbo Kato, Dio Maddin and Omos (AJ Styles' bodyguard) are among those who are taking classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Adam Pearce and Drew Gulak. Arturo Ruas was another wrestler that is believed to need additional work, but he is currently injured.

Following his NXT Championship loss to Karrion Kross, Lee was called up after SummerSlam and immediately began a feud with Randy Orton. He has been a fixture on Raw, but recently made his Main Event debut in a win over Angel Garza.

My dude just got a real theme song too :mj4 As usual take this with a grain of salt bc all the other names mentioned besides Otis aren't even wrestling at all lmao

What bothers me most about this, whether it's true or not is how people are totally over-reacting to the report. PWInsider literally called it 'refining' and people are acting like Lee in particular is being told to learn how to wrestle.

Lets also not act like Vince wasn't just gassing the dude up on the documentary they aired about him.

I see this is as more of a thing to make sure they aren't gettin' rusty since they aren't bein' used on TV very much and there is no current house show circuit. Lee only had a backstage segment on Raw this past week.

He was on Main Event wrestling instead this week which is still taped before Raw. But yeah I agree, not doing house shows in general are probably affecting a lot of things that fans don't really think about. You mentioned it during one of your reviews in your star rating thread too about a match or something probably not being as crisp as it would have if they were running it on house shows too.

It's super weird. Like my initial reaction was he just wanted them to work more on 'big man' shit but surely you would get an actual successful big man in like Taker/Kane/Show to do that because I don't see how Gulak fits that bill lol.

Now i'm just wondering if they want them to drop some weight..

Eh doubt it just bc Dabbo Kato, Omos, and Dio Maddin (the article didn't even use his Retribution name smh) are in good shape already, just big. I feel like there's a lot of holes being filled in with assumptions here which I also think happens a lot for rasslin' news. Facts are these guys are at the PC doing work, reasons are just up in the air as far as I'm concerned though.

To be honest some of the guys on the main roster needs to be at the PC to make sure they don't get rust or to keep working on their craft.

There's definitely holes missing. Getting reps in to keep sharp is totally understandable but why would he specifically target the big guys? There's definitely something behind it other than keeping sharp.

They're just fat.

Vince would've thrown Nia Jax in a fat farm....but you can't do that with women anymore.
