I had a feeling once Okada put out feelers that he was really interested in exploring the United States.

I honestly think this will be really good for him. He’s already an International superstar but being able to break new grounds in the United States will only elevate him even further.
It's really the only thing he can do that is fresh for his career. He's done everything he can do in New Japan

I was nervous because this announcement is so soon before the Royal Rumble, but this makes me feel better.

Okada is still with NJPW until after the Rumble so he won't be there unless NJPW allow it

I know but I could almost see them allowing it... I know they have not always been on great terms with WWE, but they could do it because of all he has done for New Japan.

On the other hand, since Japan is a staunch collectivist society, they could also be quite pissed at him leaving and not.

Okada defecting to NOAH would be a bigger tilt in the wrestling landscape than him going to AEW or WWE, do you agree?
It would be huge, but him leaving Japan as a whole and going to WWE or AEW would have a bigger impact since he left his country and everything. It would be like when Shinsuke left New Japan at the top of his game and went to WWE or when AJ left TNA and went to New Japan for example.
May I ask why?
Okada going to All Japan would be interesting and big as well since would three hot acts there in Nakajima, Okada, and Kento. As well, you could have Okada and Nakajima become a tag team and really lean into Nakajima's gimmick of Strong Style over Royal Road/King's Road, with two people who embody the idea of Strong Style, though Nakajima embodies it a bit more but regardless.

Then later if the angle gets hot and over, you could then set up an invasion style angle between AJPW and NJPW and even NOAH and a few others thanks to the United Japan Pro Wrestling thing they formed. And you can really get into the battle of styles and dream matches and old guard fighting for their promotion and so forth.

Sounds like Ospreay was hip to it - recently said about Okada a few weeks ago

"Im thankful that I knew you, im grateful that I had my time with you. Its weird now even saying this because there's a fcking high chance that you might end up in the same area of work that Im in”

On a side note, and something that made me personally laugh, what if Okada is going to begin an exodus of talent from New Japan and creates a modern day SWS

Okada has often said he doesnt want to leave Japan but that doesnt mean he won't. In fact, it could make him leaving an even bigger story.

I hope people don’t freak out about him in NXT. He’ll have a fun little run there while he learns a few WWEisms.
