I think it's a wash bc Troop made a good point. Originally I thought it would be slightly more of a WWE point but yeah this would probably need to be done regardless

Punk's stuff is fine bc it's all Punk I think? Or maybe AEW has the rights still (obviously he'd get a cut) and they still make so much they have it up but that's kinda wild at this point if so

There's no aew logos on punk merchandise on pwt AFAIK. Pwt is njpws official store outside of Japan. Same thing happened to Jay White when he left too (apparently) I think the issue is it's official njpw merchandise

KAZUCHIKA OKADA TO BECOME FREE AGENT TOMORROW

By Mike Johnson on 2024-01-31 09:15:00

New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Tees will both be pulling official merchandise and t-shirts for Kazuchika Okada as of tomorrow, 2/1. Today would be the final day to order those items.

The belief among those we've spoken with is today is his final day under contract with NJPW and that tomorrow, he will officially be a free agent. His final bout for the promotion will be 2/11 in Osaka, Japan against long-time rival Hiroshi Tanahashi, who is now the New Japan President.

As PWInsiderElite.com has noted previously, the belief is that with his long-time friendship with The Young Bucks, AEW is Okada's likely destination. When Okada was a rookie on excursion in the United States and wrestling for TNA, The Young Bucks took him under their wing and befriended him, assisting him out when most others left Okada to his own devices to navigate living, traveling and working in a foreign country. Okada has maintained a steadfast loyalty to the Bucks in the years since as he evolved into one of the best in-ring wrestlers in the world.

Okada is being represented by Barry Bloom for negotiations with his next deal. Bloom was with him when Okada wrestled for TNA in Las Vegas. PWInsider.com is told there are no current talks between TNA and Okada and he is not expected to appear there again. We are also told that if there were any dis

"Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro Wrestling for 17 years! thank you very much! I laughed, got angry, cried, it was great! I look forward to playing the remaining three games as a free agent!"

He is going to AEW. Japanese society pretty much dictates this. New Japan could pay him anything he wants so he is not leaving for the money.

Just read a short interview where Okada says he doesn't plan on ever returning to NJPW.

I know in pro wrestling, that doesn't really mean much. Okada has also said in the past that he never plans to leave NJPW, and we know how that went.

Still, my favorite wrestler in the world so I will watch him wherever he goes.
