quite a challenge to book and create among everyone's shows - so glad after this 'in game' weekend, AAA will have their own shown so the plotting will become easier
- The American Wrestling Association would end their time in the state of Illinois with a show hosted out of the Wintrust Arena, Chicago. Tom Phillips would inform them that after this week the promotion would remain in the north and travel to Michigan as part of their buildup towards the WrestleRock show on the 20th March. Pat McAfee would chip in that tonight Jordynne Grace had been granted a break and that her Open Challenge series would not be taking place this week, but the fans would be treated to a stacked card with AWA continuing to be the greatest comeback story in pro wrestling.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
Finish: The opening content would act as the perfect platform to reignite Priest’s AWA career, with his last match being a loss to WALTER well over a month ago. Mastiff would be no match for Damien’s determination with Priest picking up the W by hitting Mastiff with The Reckoning.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
- Keith Lee would cut a promo backstage and make it clear that anyone that wants to challenge him for the title should do so, because they know exactly where to find him. Lee chuckles and makes it clear that it's a shame that Finn Balor and Bryan Danielson are currently indisposed because by this he reckoned they would have a shot at being at the front of the line, but alas it seems that someone else on the roster is going to have take on that job and find out why Keith Lee is truly…Limitless.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
Finish: Blackheart and Ripley would put on one hell of a contest with both women of very alternative styles impressing the fans with their aggressive approach. The Kabuki Warriors would attempt to ruin the contest, but before they were able to involve themselves Nikki Cross would emerge with a steel chair in her hand and chase Asuka and Kairi backstage. The finish would come clean with Rhea nailing Shotzi with the Riptide - after the bell both women would help each other back to their feet and would share a moment of respect and shake hands signaling a great contest. Stu Bennett would comment that from where he was sitting, he couldn’t think of two women who were more perfectly suited to be friends rather than foes and hoped that one day Shotzi and Rhea would form some sort of alliance.
- The Kabuki Warriors try to cause a distraction finish, but Nikki Cross chases them off with a chair, signifying the alliances between the four women. Shotzi shakes hands with Rhea after the match for a great contest, also hinting at a future alliance.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
- Lexy Nair would be joined backstage by Erik & Ivar (The Viking Experience) with Nair asking about the ongoing war between the HURT Business and The New Day. Erik would make it clear that neither he nor IVar were concerned about the welfare of either team and if they wanted to tear themselves limb from limb then so be it. The truth of the situation was that both teams were lying to themselves and using each other as a distraction rather than focusing on the main prize of battling for tag team gold. Ivar would interject that at the end of the day, when a team step into the same ring as the Viking Experience, it will be Lindisarne all over again.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
Finish: Boogs would be no match for Big E, in what was very much a one-sided contest that E would end by taking Boogs out with a stiff and square hitting E-Train that would stop Rick dead in his tracks before Big E would force Boogs up onto his feet only to crumble in half with a brutal Belly-to-Booty bridging suplex for the victory.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
- Lacey Evans would feature in a video vignette in which it would be announced that she would be making her AWA debut very soon - and that it was confirmed that it was going to take place at WrestleRock 2022. Evans' voice would then speak and make it certain that one thing was certain about her debut and that was that whoever she faced on her debut that person’s character would not be representative of a lady.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
- Adam Pearce would be walking in the hall backstage only to be accosted by Ron Killings who would be very loud in his bravado and demand to know what the hell is happening. Killings make it clear that he is a veteran of this game and therefore deserves to be treated with a certain level of respect and who be privy to information regarding this supposed new championship that is coming down the line. The acting General Manager would brush off Killings and tells him that he can’t say anything official on the matter at the moment, by a clear directive point into place by order of CEO Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
- Killings would be visibly angry and says that if Pearce doesn't tell him, he's gonna do something crazy just to get an answer. Pearce laughs and tells Ron if he does anything stupid, Mr. Otunga and the legal department are going to take Ronn for everything he has that not even money from crappy Z-list rap songs are going to pay the bill. Pearce would then proceed to walk away leaving Killings looking very upset, but totally restrained from being able to offer any sort of physical reply to Pearce’s scathing words.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
Finish: The match would not go in Dunne’s favor and surely be a clear roadblock on this road to the top. On the other hand, Zayn would benefit from claiming a solid victory by connecting with Dunne’s chin with a Helluva Kick and start correcting his path and getting closer to achieving justice.
- | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | -
- After a commercial break, Adam Pearce would make an announcement from a very extravagant looking office. Pearce would announce with a smile that he was happy that Bryan Danielson will not require any surgery to repair any of the damage that was sustained by the brutal attack handed out by Balor, but unfortunately there is no timetable in regards to when Bryan will return, but fingers crossed it will be within the next calendar month. Pearce was handed a note by his assistant Paige and revealed that Finn’s suspension will end immediately following WrestleRock 2022, after an appeal had been filed by Balor’s lawyer and had promptly been deal with my Mr. Otunga and the rest of the Legal Department.

Finish: The evening’s main-event would prove to be an amazing way to close AWA’s account in Illinois, with Lumis surprising everyone by really pushing McIntyre to his limit. The Scotsman would get a pure surge of adrenaline and connect with a perfectly timed Claymore Kick to keep Lumis down for the count and give Drew another impressive win to his AWA tally.
The opening contest for ‘Hora Ceroo’ would be an entertaining contest between a true legend of the Japanese wrestling scene ‘Blue Justice’ Yuji Nagata would take on a man who had really relaunched his spending time on NJPW Strong at the start of the decade Fred Rosser. Both men would show a lot of respect toward each and the contest would begin with both men giving the other a ceremonial bow, before shaking hands and locking up in the middle of the ring.
Nagata would burn like a candle at both ends and he would not hold anything back and it was clear that he was wrestling with real intention to end the contest as fast as possible. Rosser though would play the match smart and not allow himself to be ensnared into Nagata’s traps and plays and would know exactly when to pull back and not leave himself vulnerable. Nagata though would send a clear message that his career was far from being over and would lay out Rossser with the Thunder Death Driver before locking Rosser up in the Nagata Lock 54 and get Fred to tap out to claim the victory.
Winner: Yuji Nagata

Amber O’Neal vs. Faby Apache vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Jennacide vs. Mazzerati vs. Yulisa Leon
The contest would be a real melee with all six luchadoras clearly wanting to make a name for themselves and with the knowledge that five elimination had to take place there was no time for friendship and alliance in this one. The match would see Amber O’Neal and Yulisa Leon eliminated early on, with the other four women seeming to come to a decision that they were the weakest linkings and therefore offer a certain level of uncertainty to the contest. The fans in the Arena Mexico would look on in complete shock at the next elimination as Jennacide would grab hold of Faby Apache and throw her over the ropes and down onto the concrete floor with a brutal Elevated Chokeslam, only to roll her back in the ring for the pin with the record four time Reina de Reinas Champion eliminated from the contest.
Gisele Shaw and Mazzerati would quickly come to an understanding that Jennacide was now the real threat in the contest and the two women would form a quick alliance, in which they would work down the ‘Bionic Beast’ and manage to score a pin by sheer force of numbers. The match would come to an end with Shaw connecting with an expertly timed Chick Kick to claim a key win ahead of the launch of the FURY television show that would take place next Friday.
Winner: Gisele Shaw

Black Taurus (c) vs. Luchasaurus
It was hard to believe this match wasn’t part of the main show and any fans getting to enjoy this free content ahead of the main show would not be disappointed. Both men would make a strong case that the idea of a traditional luchador being athletic and aerial isn’t key and both men would pull off impressive power moves and entertain the fans with some hard hitting moves that would range from Taurus connecting with - Discuss Lariats, Spears and an array of brutal headbutts. Luchasaurus would give as good as he got connecting with High Knees, variation of Death Valley Driver as well as a number of headbutss of his own.
The match would end with the fans going crazy as Black Taurus and Luchasaurus were battling on the turnbuckle and it looked as if he was going to finish off his challenger with an Elevated Taurus Driver before Luchasaurus would shock everyone by cracking his elbows into Taurus’ ribs and sending them both flying down onto the canvas with the the Land Before Time (Spanish Fly) before grabbing hold of Taurus in a Chokehold and just squeezing tight putting the champion in a deadly vice grip that would force Taurus to start tapping out.
Winner: Luchasaurus
26th February
A live performance of the event’s theme song ‘Involución’ by Megara would take place to officially get the event underway.

After the musical opening, the camera would cut backstage to former Reina de Reinas Champion Dark Sheik. Sheik would make it clear that tonight she was reclaiming her belt and would show the rest of the world why she was part of the most important faction in Women’s Oedo Tai. Sheik would go on to talk about how much of an inspiration Bea Priestley was to her and should be to the rest of the world and fully intended in doing everything in her power to win the belt away from Queen’s Quest scum. She would notably not even mention Thunder Rosa, despite the contest being a triple threat contest.

Kento Miyahara (c) vs. Masato Tanaka
The fans would be noticeably excited that the match for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship was set to open the show (although this decision might have been related to the fact that the winner would be defending tomorrow evening at the GCW PPV) and it was clear that a lot of fans were stoked to see wrestling wrestling veteran Tanaka getting a shot at the gold. The match would be a short lived affair, but not because either man would be more dominant - in fact Tanaka would give a good account of him and it was clear that Miyahara was impressed with what the well versed veteran was bringing to the ring.
The contest would end when Rhino would emerge from the crowd and leap the barricade wearing a ‘GCW-Greetings From Asbury Park’ tee and would proceed to slide into the ring before nailing an unsuspecting Kento Miyahara in half with a brutal gore that would result in the referee calling for the bell and ending the match via disqualification.
Winner: Kento Miyahara - via Disqualification
- With Miyahara down, Rhino would grab the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship and raise it above his head and despite his Rudo tactics would be given a decent enough response who were clearly excited to see him in the flesh.

Prince Puma (c) vs. Karl Fredricks
Prince Puma would open his account as the new GHC National Championship in a testing contest against Karl Fredricks, with it abundantly clear that the ‘Alpha Wolf’ was willing to do everything in his power to win the strap and bring the title back in control of the AAA. The match would be a high speed encounter and both men would test each other with numerous quick pins and kickouts with both wrestlers doing their best to claim a tactical advantage over the other. The contest would come to an end though, with Puma connecting with a masterful and fully vertical Backflip kick that would seemingly stun Fredrick before taking hold of his opponent and delivering him down hard to the canvas with Vertigo (Spinning Michinoku Driver II) to seal the deal and successfully retain the GHC National Championship.
Winner: Prince Puma

Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenoh
Rather than be a Tables Match of sending your opponent through a table to win the contest, this was an AAA tables match - which just meant that a lot of tables had been provided around ringside that both Nakajima and Kenoh could use against each other in the ring. And both men would not shy away from using them as much as they could. Whether it was tossing each other through vertically standing tables, to Nakajima hitting DDT or Kenoh hitting unique backdrop variation it didn’t too long before the ringside and its surrounding was litters in splinters and both men would start to show markings up their back and side from the impact of being send through the unrelenting wood. It was only after Nakajima send Kenoh devastatingly through a table from the turnbuckle by way of a Northern Lights Bomb that the match became complete chaos.
Out from the back would emerge Manabu Soya, Buddie Matthews and Brodie King with it being evidently clear that the House of Black were coming down to the ring of throwing a spanner in the works and preventing Nakajima from claiming the victory. As the trio started to make their way towards the ring, red strobe light would begin to flash. This would be followed by Nioh, Hajima Ohara, Shujia Konda and Tadasuke all revealing themselves wearing the red colors of KONGO as they would charge forward and a full on skirmish would take place on the entrance ramp. This would result in the referee exiting the ring and trying to regain control of the situation.
Unbeknown to be referee, this distraction would allow for Malakai Black to appear from underneath the ring apron and slide into the the ring holding a steel chair and would crack Nakajima over the back of the head only to toss the chair away and smash into Katsuhiko with the Black Mass before helping Kenoh back to his feet. The two men would then proceed to force Nakajima back up and send him crashing through another table with an assisted Powerbomb with Kenoh holding him down to claim the victory.
Winner: Kenoh

FTR (c) vs. MexiSquad (Rey Horus & Flamita)
FTR would pull of a really dominant performance against the MexiSquad and it was clear that with the AEW tag team titles on the line Cash and Dax had brought their levels of seriousness and concentration to a whole new level and both men would wrestle with precision and mastery as the two men would continue to make a case for themselves as being one if not the very best tag team currently in pro wrestling. The pair would pull off a victory and remain in control of the belts by laying out Flamita with the Big Rig!
Winners: FTR

Pagano vs. Chessman vs. Samoa Joe vs. “Hangman” Adam Page
All four men entered the contest knowing that winning this contest would earn them a shot at Cibernetico for the AAA Interim Mega Championship later on in the evening. Pagano and Chessman's long standing rivalry would make up them representing AAA, whilst Joe would enter as an NJPW representative and Page for TNA. The contest would be filled with a number of key moments that would help create a really great contest for all the onlookers present within the arena:
- Chessman and Pagano would continue to highlight why the pair simply can’t coexist in the same ring together and after exchanging multiple punches to each other, Chessman would claim an advantage by connecting with a Superkick followed by a Backbreaker Rack. As he would go for the pin though, Page would come hurtling with a baseball slide to break up the count.
- Joe and Page battling in the same ring would get a massive reaction from the fans and the interactions between both men would earn meteoric reactions from the fanas. With Joe hitting Page with both the Muscle Buster and the DVD or Page connecting with the Buckshot Lariat and the Cracker Barrel the fans in Arena Mexico were loving the spectacle, but with two other men in the ring the finishes would never come.
- Pagano would end up taking the nastiest bump of the night late on in the match, as he would look to leap off the turnbuckle - Joe would springboard off the top rope and connect with a Flying Forearm that would knock El Rey Extremo back first down onto the concrete floor at ringside.
It would be this bump that would allow Chessman to set Pagano up for the win later on in the contest as he would connect with a 450 Splash to claim the victory
Winner: Chessman
- With Pagano being helped towards the back by medics, and Joe and Page exchanging words of respect the fans would groan in annoyance as music would start to blast around the arena.
- Cibernetico would emerge with the Interim Mega Championship over his shoulder as he would reveal that he couldn’t think of a better time to defend the tite than right now whilst Chessman was still in the ring.
* * * * * * * * * *
Cibernetico (c) vs. Chessman
Cibernetico would prove to the world just how little honor he had by taking on a clearly exhausted opponent who hadn’t been given a moment to recompose themselves. It wouldn’t take long for Cibernetico to bring an end to the contest by lifting Chessman up into the air with the Apocaliptica to seal the deal and retain the belt.
Winner: Cibernetico
- After the contest Cibernetico would make it clear that he really hoped that sooner rather than later the cowards that was El Hijo del Vikingo would finally show his face and accept the fact that there could only be one true AAA Mega Champion and that for as long as he had anything to say about it all the most important belts would continue to remain in the possession of Escalera Real and would wish Masa the best of luck ahead of his match with Eddie Edwards later on this evening.

- Dragon Lee would cut a passionate promo ahead of his and Dralistico’s title defense of the AAA World Tag Team Championships. Lee would make it clear that he had no idea what FTR had been doing here tonight, but would make it clear that Dax and Cash were both a bunch of cowards for defending their titles against a second rate team when everyone knew that the only real team in AAA were Los Ingobernables de Azteca. Dragon Lee would then make it clear that the extended LFI family was by far the greatest clique in modern day wrestling and he would welcome his new brothers La Facción de Fukujin (Shingo Takagi, Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) into the fold and hoped that in the coming weeks and months they would introduce themselves in kind to those FTR losers.
* * * * * * * * * *
Los Ingobernables de Azteca (Dragon Lee & Dralistico) (c) vs. vs. Los Perros Del Mal (Eita & Kotaru Suzuki)
Los Perros Del Mal would offer up quite a challenge, but it was clear from the get go that Dragon Lee and Dralistico were highly motivated and had no intention of letting anyone walk away with ‘THEIR TITLES’. The match would be quite a short affair, but with quite a clear intention of putting over the tag team champions. The match would end with Eita dumped out of the ring at ringside. Dralistico would nail Kotaru with a Shooting Star Press only for Dragon Lee to follow it up by taking hold of Kotaru and pulverizing him with the Desnucadora (Vertical suplex powerbomb) to retain the titles.
Winners: Los Ingobernables de Azteca (Dragon Lee & Dralistico)

Dr. Wagner, Jr. vs. Cesaro
For a lot of fans the Grudge Match between Dr. Wagner, Jr. and Cesaro would prove to be the match that never was. In another cowardly approach, that was proving to be completely on brand for Escalera Real members as of late - whilst Cesaro was making his way down to the ring he would be swamped by a swathe of bodies with the entirety of the Dagger Club minus Fredricks (Cody Hall, Gino Gambino, Mephisto & Renee Dupree) jumping Cesaro in a four-on-one assault on the entrance ramp in a brutal mugging before the four men would hold the Swiss Superman in place as Dr. Wagner, Jr. would emerge from backstage and smash a baseball bat wrapped in barbed squares into Cesaro’s head busting him wide open - before Wagner would whistle and the Dagger Club and himself would head backstage leaving a beaten and bloody Cesaro in a pool of his own blood on the entrance ramp.
Result: No Contest

- Jericho would feature in a live video coming from the States in which he would wish Daniel Garcia the best of luck ahead of his title defense later on tonight and that he hoped in the coming months that he could introduce the AAA fans whether it was in Mexico or Japan to the Jericho Appreciation Society and if the promotions bookers and producers made the right offers and deal then perhaps ‘The Painmaker’ would appear in an AAA ring for the first time since the 90s.

Daniel Garcia (c) vs. HAYATA
Daniel Garcia had been proving himself on Dynamite since winning the belt from Drago, but there was no doubt than HAYATA would offer Garcia the biggest test of his reign so far and with HAYATA coming off a massive win at Great Voyage by winning the Azteca Rumble it was clear that the fans were stoked by the encounter they had on their hand with the contest very quickly turning into a barn burning spotfest.
Both men would pull off a highlight reel of moves, but it was clear that both men were willing to put their lives completely on the line to win the belt and both men would take some nasty shots and high impact bumps in order to stay in the contest and the fans were lapping up every moment of it. Garcia finally managed to lock HAYATA in the Dragontamer, but HAYATA would continue to show his resilience and would twist his hips to break the hold before up-kicking Garcia and catching him square in the jaw and dropping to his knees. HAYATA would be quick off his feet and connect with the Headache (Hurricanrana driver to a kneeling opponent) before springboarding off the middle rope with a Moonsault to crash down on top of Garcia to claim the victory and become the new AAA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion.
Winner: HAYATA

Taya Valkyrie (c) vs. Thunder Rosa vs. Dark Sheik
Taya would defend the belt for the first time since winning it at New Beginnings and would enter the contest with the knowledge that the odds were very much stacked against the champion. Quite early on into the contest, it was apparent that Sheik only had eyes set for Taya and would approach the contest almost with the intention of either winning the belt or at the very least leaving Valkyrie injured. And during one spot Sheik would show her true nature as she would cover the canvas with thousands of thumbtacks before nailing Taya with the Shia Crescent puncturing the champion with multiple tacks from the impact. Taya though would come back fighting though and with evil intentions looked as if she had nearly decapitated Sheik by hitting the Road to Valhalla with Sheik neck smashing down onto the top rope. Thunder Rosa would show herself as a smart wrestler though, and would take advantage of the situation by hitting Taya with a Jumping Stunner before dropping down on top of Sheik to claim the victory and crown herself as the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion for the very first time of her career.
Winner: Thunder Rosa

Eddie Edwards (c) vs. Masa Kitamiya
The main-event of the evening would prove to be an absolute highlight reel of great moments with just a selection of them summarized below:
- Kitamiya would start the contest with a real intensity and would catch Edwards slightly off guard as he would catch Eddie out and lock in the Prison Lock (Kneeling figure four leglock) very early into the contest and did his best to incapacitate Eddie and try to get an early victory. Edwards would show he was hurting, but manage to survive the early onslaught
- Edwards would bring submission moves of his own to the contest though, and would give as good as he got as he would crank at Kitamiya with various holds including the Achilles Lock and Die Hard Flowsion that would seem to put both men on an even keel
- Edwards would look to finish Masa a little bit earlier than advised and would connect with the Boston Knee Party, but Kitamiya would manage to kick out of the pin before one count. With a clear surge of adrenaline Kitamiya would push up to his feet and start throwing heavy shots at Edwards before taking hold of him and slamming down with a Saito Suplex - with Edwards kicking out at the very last possible moment.
At the twenty-minute mark, Edwards would bring an end to the contest and retain the strap by hitting Kitamiya with the Die Hard Driver to claim the victory.
