*Stands up and gives a great round of applause*

Jim Ross, you're a true legend. You're arguably the greatest announcer of all time and your commentary made so many great moments even greater. You were an unbelievable director of talent relations and did a tremendous amount for the entire wrestling business. Hope you have a great life bud, you've earned it!

and hey dixie if you want to go ahead and pony up the money to bring him there that would be cool too

Turned out he was fired by Vince...

Reports that Jim Ross retiring from WWE was mostly a Vince McMahon decision and at least partially had to do with his behavior during SummerSlam weekend at the 2K14 panel has been confirmed by PWInsider. Ross retiring is actually WWE’s way of announcing that he had been let go without causing any major uproar among fans since Ross is so beloved. This way, Ross could leave the company as a hero who left on his own.
As noted, the decision was made by Vince and Ross was informed in the past two days or so. Ross has already received one major offer to sit down and record a shoot interview about his career.
Ross did reveal on Twitter that WWE will still carry his JR’s BBQ products. He tweeted:

This is what, the third time JR has been fired? And fired from what? He was already all but retired at this point anyway. I still don't think this will stop JR from coming back periodically to announce a special match here and there that could really use some classic commentary and emotion like only JR can provide these days, like the HIAC match at Wrestlemania 28. If Stone Cold ever does return for one more match, JR should definitely be brought back to do commentary for it. ("Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Stone Cold! The Rattlesnake!")

Pretty much this is my reaction.
