"Former ECW World Champion Jerry Lynn announced that at the end of 2012, he will close out his career. He said that as he is getting older, it is harder to get his body to do what he wants it to do. He wants to wind down so he can have a good quality of life." (Pwinsider.com)

Sad to see him go he was a great wrestler and I wish him all the best.

It's amazing he's lasted as long as he has wrestling. Hope he gets an agents job with WWE or TNA.

Always skeptical when it comes to wrestling 'retirements' so we'll see.

Amazing wrastler in his prime (and past it) though.

I like this guy but he was better in his prime like Cork said, the guy was extremely talented and knew how to use it, now he has talent but.. age ruins talent. I will be sad to see him go but it's probably the best decision.

Very talented wrestler in his prime and always a lot of fun to watch his matches. Not really surprised that he is ready to retire and I am surprised that his body held out this long. I am sure that TNA or WWE will offer him a backstage position and he will remain in the business.

Very consistant talent, with many great matches over a long career. Also a real nice, down to earth bloke as I had the pleasure of meeting him and getting a signed autograph at 1PW show in 2006. The timing seems right, I wish him all the best for the future.

One of my all time favorites. First saw him in 1991 against Waltman in GWF and have been following him ardently since. The guy was an amazing worker in his prime, and from everything I hear a good backstage presence too. Isn't he already a backstage agent in TNA?

Well I am because he doesn't strike me as someone who needs to stay on passed his prime and besides it isn't like there aren't other options.

Jerry Lynn will be like Terry Funk, retiring every year until no one gives a shit.

Except no one would give a shit about Jerry Lynn other than the 50 people who actually were fans.
