Jerry Lawler - Still has it or due for retirement?

For quite a few years I have seen dividing opinions on Jerry Lawler's announcing abilities. Many liked what he did with Jim Ross but for years it has seemed like he has been phoning it in with his announcing. He used to be the heel announcer that could still call the action whilst singing the praises of the heels. Now as a face announcer he is more bland and seems to be mistakes more frequently. He doesn't have an edge anymore and it shown up often by his younger colleagues. I also find it a bit odd that he admitted in an interview that he doesn't prepare for RAW each week and honestly it shows when it comes to the newer talents. He has been in the same spot for a dozen years straight and he also had another stint before that so it may be time to move on. I don't think that he should be fired as such but he should seriously considering retiring and bowing out before he is pushed.

Do you think that Jerry Lawler still has what it takes and should remain as colour commentator on RAW? Or, do you think that Lawler should head off into the sunset and be replaced by someone else?

He's horrible, replace him with just about anyone else. He just doesn't care anymore, it's obvious he's not even trying.

Replace him with Foley if you want a good color commentator.

I wasn't a fan of Foley's commentary really. Replace him with Regal. Regal has the best commentary in WWE at the moment.

He's terrible, he's so old and out of touch and not even remotely funny anymore. He's like DX of the announce booth.

Say what you want about Booker T and that he's mad as a hatter, but he actually gets it. He may be a face but the amount of times he puts over the heels in a balanced way is pretty awesome. The way he was putting over Dolph Ziggler last night and Lawler was just replying with 'no' was just sad to listen to.

Make him an ambassador or something, just get him out of the booth for christ sake.

I would love if they replaced King with Matt Striker. He's a natural at the commentary booth. He's more informed than Cole, and actually commentates as opposed to going off on random tangents. Hell he carried Grisham on ECW/

But I do agree on King. He seems like he's no longer interested, like he's just going through the motions. I don't think he's horrible like a lot of people seem to, I just think he no longer has a passion for it.

I like the Regal idea. I do think King doesn't really have it anymore but he's still passable.

Get rid of Cole too and put Striker & Regal there.

I think that it is time for him to go because he is just so far out of step. He sounds disinterested when he commentates and makes too many incorrect calls these days. I would rather see William Regal take over from him on RAW, I am a Matt Striker fan but I think that he would be best on Smackdown with Josh Matthews.

I'm slowly starting to like Cole now, he's getting fairly good, and I think with the right partner, he'd be fun to listen to. He just needs someone with just a bit of talent to complement him.

Cole is great. Booker is growing on me on SD but wouldn't work on Raw. Not a big Josh Matthews fan, dont see the point of him on SD really. I would loooooooove to see JBL beside Cole on Raw week in week out, but Regal would be Awesome too.
