BTB Picks of the Fortnight
--------------------------------------------------------------
-HBK-
HBK, in my eyes, is one of the biggest up and coming bookers on this site and this past fortnight has proved exactly why. He produced a quality Smackdown show and although sometimes his matches are not quite what they should be his immaculate Promos completely make up for it. Fair play, he is on a roll.

There is a reason this guy won most improved Booker because he never stops getting better. Although his Shows are not the best his enthralling and addictive Storylines keep readers on the edge of their seats as this Storyline King shows us that he can write with the best.
_-_Magnus_-_
Now this guy has never ceased to amaze me. He is an amazing booker. Although he is not that well known around here he is still going on and has not given up despite the lack of stardom. Tabula Rassa was an amazing PPV with so many twists and turns. And then he produced one of my favourite matches since I delved into the BTB Section. An 8-Man Tag Match. It truly left me in awe. This guy has a seriously bright future in BTB.
The One To Watch Out For
As some may know, WCW Rules is going to bring out his new BTB soon and can I be the first to say I cannot wait. It looks like it will be one for the ages. Good luck mate.
Thanks for taking the time out to read this and I will be back next week with more BTB Picks. Thanks again. Eyebrow.

Twist Of Fate
--------------------------------------------------------------
Ok So I have been thinking about Emperor DC's comments in the chatroom on the recaps subject as well as everybody elses. I am getting pretty pissed off with the whole thing. We are all bookers which personally gives us our own opinion and well I think it is wrong for someone to try and change the opinion of somebody else. Especially with a sort of Flaming in my opinion. The Debate is gettying heated and has nearly gotten to the point where someone will be infracted or banned. I personally see no need for it as everybody has a right to their own opinion. I know about that shit in America about freedom of speech but if you know it is going to turn into a flaming war or something then just shut up and say nothing. I like heated debate. It is god to have on a forum but when something causes controoverysy in a section then it is really bad. People have their own styles and well it does not matter if they have a different opinion to you. If you do not like it then shut your mouth and don't bitch about it in the chat room and in reviews.
That is all for this week, not alot but all I have to say.

Diary of a Booker
--------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Magnus, and I'm a BTB rookie. I have belonged to IWF for quite some time and decided only recently that I would try my hand at a thread that seemed very interesting to me, BTB. I had ran my own E-fed before (which actually, in turn, directed me to this site) but BTB isn't like that, at all actually, with the exception of the subject matter.
But enough about me, I'm writing this article to talk about what it is to be a BTB rookie. Something a few people know about, whether it be through trial and error and then giving up, or trial and error and then success. The key to BTB it would seem, at the onset of my booking career, would be to start off on the right foot. So, thats what we talk about this week: The genesis of a federation.
There are a few important factors that go into forming the company that you will use to woo your audience, including the format in which you write, how often you post a show, banners, etc, and many of them are very important. However the ultimate deciding factor that ties itself to the success of a BTB is the selection of the workers your company will use. Now, some of you may of scoffed at me just now, and thats perfectly ok, however most of you just nodded your head in agreement. This brings to mind a couple of questions:
1. Why?
Because the workers for your company are the way you convey 95% of the action and storyline in your BTB, which, let's face it, is the reason anyone wants to read.
2. How?
Carefully. Don't just willy-nilly throw any old scrub or jobber (or main-eventer for that matter) on your roster. Choose wisely!
3. Ok...then who?
Whoever you feel you can portray in a way that the reader will believe. Charismatic characters tend to be easier to pull off, as long as you stay within what would be characteristic for them. However, not every wrestler was blessed with the charisma of The Rock. If your BTB is going to focus more on the action to further the storyline, be willing to put time in to study those workers and do your homework. Big Show should certainly not be using a hurricanrana to floor Rey Mysterio, as that will make the reader go "HUH!?" and then promptly hit the IWF banner at the top of their screen.
In the end, you must decide what style of BTB you want to run and then choose wrestlers based on who you feel comfortable 'playing'. The wrestlers are important, but also consider the non-wrestling workers. I, for example, was a huge fan of WCW and really liked Eric Bischoff. I use him as my company owner and very commonly run promos with him, and they have turned into one of the drawing points of my BTB. Another important aspect to consider at the onset of a BTB is what titles to use. Some BTB's use titles as a 'goal' or 'reward', and they are, but don't forget that titles are also ways to push your workers. The guys holding the titles gain more appreciation from the reader, and thus should not always belong to the big goliath monster on your roster. Proper title usage can really help push workers beyond 'jobber' status into superstardom, regardless of what they are in real life.
Wow, so much to say, but I don't want to over load you, so here is a look at what I will discuss next week:
-My first show
-The start of a feud
-What didn't work
Take care of yourself and those around you, and happy BTBing!
