We all know that WWE is aiming towards young kids at the moment. Cena is their current money maker. There isn't any other superstar that sells merch. like Cena. Do they really think sales would hurt if Cena is a heel? Remember when Hogan turned heel and joined nWo? It was a huge moment in wrestling history. Hogan was a babyface forever and they rolled the dice. Would it really be that bad if Cena was a heel? It's not like WWE doesn't have other guys that can take his place (Morrison, Bryan, Kingston). I think it would be a good change of pace for WWE to pull the trigger.

Although its everyones dream on the internet, I don't think a Cena heel turn is feasible. To be quite frank, if people were dead to Cena and Orton facing off seemingly a million times at the Rumble, then there is no one else for him to fued with. Let's face it, there is absolutlely no other face on his level. Raw for some Blue reason has only two main faces and the rest are still midcard. Not since 98 did the WWE have such a lack of options for mainevent faces. I have grown quite tired of Cena and Orton monopolizing the mainevent spot, it's been two straight years of either one of them in a title match or mainevent. There has to be a triggered pulled for a new maineventer or people are going to start getting bored with the product.

I think what it is, is that WWE Creative doesn't have the power or the will to create another huge baby face character. I've seen in the past year they turned Randy Orton face how ever I dont think WWE Creative is happy with making Orton the main money maker. The ONLY reason why I think that is cause just as much as people are sick of Cena, they are sick of Orton. How ever that seems to be the general reaction from all of us here behind the keyboard. I Think we may know what would be interesting & creative etc etc. How ever the reality is, in a tough economy & WWE being a share holder company. They are pretty much just going where the money is. If the money is still on Cena & Orton. Guess what WWE isn't going to do away or change anything as far as the current Cena & Orton characters go.

I wouldn't call it scared- right now, in these tough economic conditions, it's just a lot more necessary to keep Cena as a babyface. This way, he's selling merchandise which other superstars are unable to shift. As much as we get tired of watching Cena in the main event, he sells a lot of gear and that makes him hard to turn heel for WWE. Plus, as deezy mentioned, Raw is lacking top level babyfaces. They kind of need him right now.

I'd like to see it somewhere down the line though. Afterall, it's been 6 years and his character is still exactly the same as it was back in '05.

I do think Cena will eventually go heel. He may go a way like Batista, start his career out as a heel then end it like a heel or if he was to take a 6 to 12 month break go heel before then. Right now, I think WWE needs to continue to develop young face talents. Right now, it's not working. Del Rio, Sheamus, Ziggler, Rhodes, McIntyre, and The Miz are all heels. John Morrison and Daniel Bryan are the only two faces that are young and can be in the main event scene ( sorry no Kofi for me yet). Until WWE builds up more young talent in the face category, not sure if Cena can go heel. Their is just too many guys.

It has to eventually happen, he can't stay a face forever and eventually when WWE finally build up a strong new babyface they can use a Cena heel turn to help make that new face a fan favourite. WWE can still make money off Cena as a heel if they do it right, like WCW did with Hogan, but until they have that big face ready to take his spot there is no chance of this happening. It seems like every new wrestler is a heel rather since it is easier than getting them to connect with the crowd right away.

What WWE really needs to do is have another draft to sort out their rosters and even out the faces/heels in the mainevents of both shows.
