Is Dolph Ziggler a potential main eventer?

As sad as DZ's booking was in 2013 it sort of intrigues me for 2014. Does WWE continue dropping the ball in historically bad fashion? Or can 2014 somehow become Ziggler's year.

He started this year off pretty strong with a feud with Cena, but then look how he ended up eventually.

Maybe next year is when he finally makes a rebound for good, but I don't see him becoming a major player in the WWE Title scene. When Mania is all said and done, I think we can all be sure that the WWE Champion will be either Punk, Bryan or Batista, and they'll likely have the title for several months considering that by the post-Mania period, it'll be the first time in over half a year that we'll have a babyface as world champion. So unless Ziggler turns heel, I can't see him challenging (much less winning) the title anytime next year. He could always prop up the IC division, though.
