Well, this was supposed to be about Matt and Christian. But we sort of also drifted towards him in Free Flow as well.
(Which if I may pat myself on the back was a pretty cool thread idea don't ya think?)
Yeah, I blame FrenchKiss.

And yeah, it's pretty funny that the shitty Raw was erased from existance on this forum with it being replaced by a better thread.

Oh, herro California!
Edge turning face scares me for that exact reason. I'm praying for Edge to head to RAW after Mania to keep that from happening. Give Christian at least a year on Smackdown and see what he can do and how far he can get himself over. If nothing happens...then do E&C.

I think both Edge and Christian have way outgrown any possible future runs of E&C. Maybe a little interaction would be nice, a kind of *wink wink* to the past, give the fans (who actually remember them) a thrill. But I still see it as being a step back for both of them, and not in their best interests.

I believe Matt Hardy is just the victim of shitty booking/failed pushes. Christan on the other hand is a victim of being a main eventer in a lesser company and all his smarky fans want him to be at that same level, if not higher in a far superior company.

See below.

Because Christian is damn better than most of the roster and probably the only well-booked and non-stale face.

Agreed. I believe Christian to easily be on the same level, if not above, then a lot of the roster.

Christian is just far more entertaining on the mic as well. And as a face he really has something for the fans to get behind him with using the whole "Peep" thing.

The fans speak. The fact that he gets a reaction from what is usually a stale crowd for faces, (exceptions occur) should be enough for him to easily be accepted on any show he goes too.

Gonna throw this one out there.

On the mic..... Christian > Edge
In the ring..... Christian > Edge
As a face... Christian > Edge
As a heel Christian = Edge

I think mic work depends on the gimmick. Edge is better on the mic as a heel but Christian is better as a face.

Edge is probably a little better as a heel, you've forgotten. But yeah, all else is indeed true, I'd say they're equal on the mic. This is why I want Christian to go to Raw. You may say he'd be buried, but I disagree. I think he'd be booked pretty decently, and with the draft coming up, either Cena or Orton is almost guaranteed to be going to SD.

I don't know that I would say Christian would get buried at Raw so much as he wouldn't get the opportunities to shine like he would at Smackdown.

I AGREE! It just feels like something that CAN'T be done again, you know? They've evolved too much. The Hardy's worked, the BoD worked, hell in the situation, even DX somewhat worked. But if any of you remember E&C, it was so cool because it just felt like they can never be imitated and was perfect for the time period it was in (same sorta goes for DX, I know). Idk, I just can't see them doing it again, it'd be lame sorta. Maybe some jokes here and there in backstage segments, that would be the best thing, imo. Or if they ever BOTH reach the top and are both main eventing WM or something, you could do the classic team face vs. team heel right before WM and have them team, idk.

The fact that Edge has been resorting to some very E&C'ish jokes in the past few weeks really tells a different story.
Don't forget this. FACE Edge has had virtually no evolution since splitting from Christian. 99% of Edge's success has come from his heel persona where as Christian has really had the chance to develop on both sides of the fence. I think this is going to be an extremely awkward time for Edge to find a comfortable middle ground between Rated R and E&C style Edge.

Edge is a better heel the Christan, Christan is a better face then Edge. The childish E&C era jokes imo fit Christan's 'Captain Charisma' character then Edge's 'Rated R' persona that he really owes all of his success to.

I'm still sticking with the fact that Edge is a lock for RAW after Mania. And hopefully Cena to Smackdown.... but more likely Orton.

I think Cena going to SD could work wonders in giving a breath of fresh air to that show, but I don't see the E willing to sacrifice their boy to the 'lesser' show. Who knows though, they moved Triple H to SD and I never saw it coming.

Good call, bro.

Why blame ME?

I will however take the credit for erasing the crappy Raw from people's memories. Too bad there was no escaping last night's ECW though.

I think if they ever tried to recreate it, it would tarnish the memories of how great it was. Kind of like making a crappy remake of a classic movie. Some things should just be left alone, in acknowledgment of their greatness.

Which is why they should leave heel Edge alone.

NO MORE E&C!

Hey, I LIKED those childish E&C era jokes.... In fact, I STILL DO!

They shouldn't have to leave heel Edge alone. They should have the self control to know when the time is right of E&C and in WWE's current state with virtually no credible tag teams... now is far from the time. To put E&C in a tag match against any of WWE's current "tag teams" in anything less than a squash match would be a fucking joke.

Yes they should!

And there IS no right time for E&C.

The tag team division itself is a joke...

Reuniting Edge and Christian and putting them in it would be a CATASTROPHE OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!

I do to but as far as Edge's character progession goes he has moved on from the childish "5 Second Pose" Edge to a more grown up Rated R Edge. Which he in my opinion owes all of his main even success to; I could never have imagined him being the super heel world champion that he was as the Rated R Superstar if he was still stuck in 2000 with the E&C character.

No, it would be a marketing success of biblical proportions, which is all that really matters.

The previous DX run was completely ridiculous as well, but holy shit did they sell some fuckin t-shirts.

He may have initially gotten over off of the E&C thing, but he became the Rated R Superstar on his own, without Christian and I think that he deserves lots of kudos from moving to one extreme to the other.

The fact that he managed to attain the success he has away from the E&C stuff, and the fact that you never believed it to be possible is just a testament to how great he is, even if nobody believed him capable of it.

But at what cost nou? Yeah you may make a shit ton of money for a limited amount of time, but then what was once a great thing is going to be reduced to the joke that DX now is. Why fuck with history?

Edge owes more success to Shawn Michaels, Kane, and Lita, tbh. They're the one's who truly got him over as a heel, if you remember. With the latter putting him over the top and allowing the transition to the famous EC moment. Then pairing him with Foley solidified him as a top guy, with Foley hyping him up.
