Human Tornado

tornado.gif

Height and Weight- 6'3 171 lbs
Trained by: American Wild Child, Super Dragon, WPW Dojo
Previous gimmicks: El Negro, El Snowflake
In-ring debut: November 29, 2003

Human Tornado defeated Puma and Luke Hawk in a three way match at WSXtra. Hawk challenged him to a rematch after the match. Tornado made his television debut defeating Luke Hawk in the rematch. In a later televised episode, Human Tornado defeated Matt Sydal.

On June 18, 2005, Human Tornado collapsed during a match with Adam Pearce. He was rushed to the hospital, and it was discovered that he was suffering from severe dehydration.

That same year he was featured in the DVD, Pro Wrestling's Ultimate Insiders, which was an interview with former WWF(E) writers Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara. He was booking a match with other wrestlers.

After appearing in the film Nacho Libre, Williams has taken to the persona El Snowflake in the ring. In the storyline El Snowflake took the place of the injured Human Tornado on the second night of the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles in the Four-Way elimination match for the PWG World Championship.

Human Tornado competed in a tournament by Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) to win the CZW World Tag Team Championship with Justice Pain. But Tornado and his partner would end up losing at the tourny finals against Kings of Professional Wrestling on October 14, 2006 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

*Thoughts* Like Colt Cabana, Human Tornado a comical character. His personality is based black stereotypes of a 70's pimp. At one point he was billed from "nikkakeeprunnin" but now his hometown is known as "Hollywood, Alabama". He is very talented and fun to watch. Due to his lack of size, I cant see Human Tornado wrestling in a major company in the near future, but who knows. He is very entertaining and I believe he and PWG are a perfect fit.

I've have only seen his WSX work, i dont really get a chance to watch his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla work. although from what i've seen of him he pretty talented defiantly a fun comical character and i agree with he would be a good fit in PWG but with his gimmick i can't really picture him in the WWE or TNA and i for sure as hell aint buying "the balls of steel" lol.

I actually think he would be better off in a bigger organization. He's a entertainer, and has some size, but could use some weight. Fun character. His match vs Colt Cabana was the funniest match ever.

Rocky Romero

Height and Weight:5'7 175 lbs
Trained by:Kevin Quinn, Jesse Hernandez, Bill Anderson, Antonio Inoki, Shinya Makabe, Negro Casas
Previous gimmicks:Mr. Azucar, Black Tiger IV
In-ring debut:September 13, 1997

Romero debuted in 1997. He has received training in the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles and for some time now has been a regular trainer there. His career has taken him through promotions in the Southern California region to Mexico, where he competed successfully for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (the country's longest-running promotion) and to the Far East where he has worked most notably in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was chosen to become the fourth incarnation of Black Tiger, the villainous gaijin opponent of Tiger Mask (in this case Tiger Mask IV).

03.jpg

Romero's main exposure in the United States came while he was one half of the Havana Pitbulls tag team, with partner Ricky Reyes, in Ring of Honor where himself and Reyes set a record for the longest reign as ROH Tag Team Champions, a record they held until the team of Austin Aries and Roderick Strong broke it. While in ROH He and Reyes were also members of Homicide's stable, The Rottweilers. He left the company at the end of 2005 to focus on working in Japan, but returned on January 26, 2007 to defeat Davey Richards. The following evening Romero walked out on his long time partner Reyes in the midst of a match against the Briscoe Brothers.

Romero made his debut in Pro Wrestling NOAH on March 4, 2007 versus Mushiking Terry, casting into doubt the future of the Black Tiger IV persona, although his participation in the debut show of the Inoki Genome Federation could have been more of an issue.

On March 31 Romero was introduced as the newest member of the No Remorse Corps. Romero and new stable mate Davey Richards lost to Jack Evans and Naruki Doi. Rocky Romero has been touring with NOAH recently and is currently teaming with Atsushi Aoki in the NTV Jr Heavyweight Cup. He also made his debut for Antonio Inokis new promotion IGF defeating El Blazer.

Noticeable accomplishments
ROH Tag Team Championship (With Ricky Reyes)
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship

*Thoughts* I like Rocky Romero, I used to think of him as a Poor Man's version of Low-Ki but I think he may be the all around better wrestler of the two. He is one of the best submission/striking wrestlers on the independent circuit. I think he needs to improve his Mic skills to make him a more believable heel, but overall he has the talent to go places.

Mike Quackenbush

05.jpg

Height & Weight: 6'0 195
Trained by: Ace Darling, Jorge Rivera
Finishing Moves: Quackendriver, Quackendriver II , Quackendriver III
In Ring Debut: November, 1991
Notable Feuds: Ace Darling, Reckless Youth, Claudio Castagnoli

Quackenbush is best known as the patriarch of the CHIKARA family, and for his work on the independent (freelance) circuit, which now spans two decades. He was formerly featured in the Combat Zone Wrestling promotion and one of his biggest accomplishments has been winning CZW's 5th Best of the Best tournament, defeating Arik Cannon, Claudio Castagnoli, B-Boy, Kevin Steen, and Super Dragon. In 2004, he briefly united six championships from three different countries (USA, Mexico, Germany) into the "I-Crown".

During his 2000 hiatus from pro-wrestling, Quackenbush wrote his memoir Headquarters, wrote and produced a direct-to-video project called "Crusaders, Ltd." and hosted an improv comedy show. He returned to the ring in April of 2000, after just two full months off. Quackenbush has toured Canada, Mexico and several European countries during his career. He has invented dozens of moves and holds, and was nicknamed "The Master of a Thousand Holds" and "The Ring Wizard" by European fans. In the United States, he is typically referred to by the nickname "Lightning," a moniker that pays tribute to his wrestling hero, Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

He founded Chikara Wrestle Factory in January of 2002, and then opened the promotion CHIKARA, in May of the same year. Chikara Wrestle Factory assumed control of the Combat Zone Wrestling school in March of 2005. Quackenbush serves as head-trainer of the joint facility.

Quackenbush had career-threatening back surgery in early 2006. He returned to the ring on March 18, 2006 (his birthday) in Essen, Germany and captured the wXw German Heavyweight title from Ares. He returned to his schedule of wrestling and training at CZW/Chikara Wrestle Factory thereafter.

He has trained several independent pro-wrestlers, such as Dragonfly, Mobius, Zanre Madrox, Retail Dragon, Equinox, Dr. Cheung, Blind Rage, Mister ZERO, UltraMantis, Icarus, Hallowicked, Worker Ant, Gran Akuma, Eddie Kingston, Jigsaw, US Ape, Discount Tiger, Dragon Dragon, Melvin Snodgradd, Darkness Crabtree, Rorschach, Shane Storm, DJ Skittlez, Jolly Roger, Larry Sweeney and others. He trained referee Bryce Remsburg, and has helped train other wrestlers like Claudio Castagnoli, Crossbones, ShareCropper, Jardi Frantz, Marshal Law, Love Bug, Soldier Ant, Fire Ant, John Brooks and many others.

In April 2007, Quackenbush made his debut for mainstream independent wrestling promotion Ring Of Honor, at their event, "The Battle Of St. Paul".

Quackenbush defeated Tiger Mask IV to capture the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship on May 11th 2007, for NWA Midwest or Fight Sports Midwest, at their "Chapter Two" event. Throughout the match, Quackenbush unlaced and loosened Tiger Mask's mask, a major sign of disrespect amongst masked wrestlers. Seconds before pinning Tiger Mask, Quackenbush completely pulled off his opponent's mask. After grasping his new belt, he reached down and pulled away Tiger Mask's mask and held it up to the crowd as if it were his real trophy, which inlicited boos from the crowd and several members of the NWA. In a promo shot after match, as well as a news post on his website, Quackenbush explained that he did what he had to get the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship and that he was, in no way, proud of it. He said he viewed the belt as his ticket to Japan, as Japanese promotions had not booked him in any events.

*Thoughts* Quack has quickly grown into one of my favorite wrestlers. The things he can do in the ring are incredible. He's part of a new breed of wrestlers, he may not be the biggest guys on earth but can really wrestle his ass off, not to mention his high flying ability is incredible. He's getting up there in age (31), but I believe he still has loads of potential, and could fit in very well in the CW/X-Division if he ever makes it into the big leagues.

Super Dragon
Super_Dragon_4.jpg

Height/Weight: 6'0, 200 lbs
Trained by: Handsome Boy
Finisher: Psycho Driver
Debut: 1997
Theme: "Earth People" by Dr. Octagon

Super Dragon's career began in a match against Tiger Joe, in the famous Anaheim Market place, though it was a losing effort, it was to be the debut of arguably Southern California's biggest star. Super Dragon became friends with Blitzkrieg, during a tour of Mexico Blitzkrieg became noticed by wrestlers backstage. After this Blitzkrieg and Super Dragon were granted a dark match for WCW with the help of American Wild Child, who was friends with Konnan. He joined Revolution Pro in 1999. Super Dragon was part of the New Generation that hit Revolution Pro along with Disco Machine, TARO, Excalibur, and Shogun. His first real peak was winning the Rev J in 2001, against B-Boy. During this time Dragon, along with other Rev Pro stars were featured on a few XPW shows. At Pride of the Mask on October 25th 2002, Super Dragon and Shogun won a tag team match. The stipulation was the two winners would face in a Mask vs. Mask match. Super Dragon beat Shogun and claimed his mask, adding to the increasing legend he was building throughout Southern California. Throughout his Rev Pro run, Dragon had made a change in his wrestling style and attire. Super Dragon had become a guardian of So Cal of sorts. Many young stars like Joey Ryan, Scott Lost, Scorpio Sky, and TARO had career matches with Dragon. His feud with TARO was especially a heated one. They had battled nearly five years, finally culminating in a Mask vs. Mask match at Revolution Pro's fourth anniversary show. The loser was to unmask. The match was seen as many to be one of the greatest in So Cal history, in the match Super Dragon sported an old-school mask he had worn previously. TARO was put to rest after a violent series of Lariats. After the match TARO announced his retirement, and unmasked, as he and Super Dragon embraced. This was perhaps seen as the high point of Revolution Pro. In March 2004, Dragon squared off against Babi Slymm, at Revolution Pro's "One Step Beyond" it was seen as arguably Revolution Pro's finest show.

Super Dragon started wrestling for Combat Zone Wrestling in 2002 at Best of the Best 2 against long time rival B-Boy. When he returned in 2004, he wrestled many tag team matches with partner Excalibur, and challenged Chris Hero for the Iron Man championship. In 2005, he was involved in a feud against The Blackout. At Cage of Death 7, Dragon beat Ruckus for the CZW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, he gave Blackout manager Robbie Merino, who was already injured previously by Super Dragon, a Curb Stomp onto the stage. At the next show, An Afternoon of Main Events, Dragon teamed with the Kings of Pro-Wrestling (who were also feuding with Blackout) in a six man tag team match against Blackout, which turned into a brawl. Super Dragon lost the title back to Ruckus in February 2006 in a match also involving Kevin Steen.

The first time Super Dragon appeared in Ring of Honor was at Do or Die II on March 13, 2004, when he defeated Excalibur. He would reappear two years later in 2006 as a part of Combat Zone Wrestling during their feud with ROH. Along with many other CZW wrestlers, he helped beat down B.J. Whitmer at Arena Warfare. At ROH's 100th Show, Dragon was part of Team CZW along with Chris Hero and Necro Butcher as they defeated Team ROH of Samoa Joe, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Pearce. This match saw Dragon hit a Psycho Driver on Whitmer from the apron to the floor through a table. Dragon lost his last match in ROH to BJ Whitmer when Whitmer gave him a Top rope Exploder '98 through a table on the floor.

Super Dragon is one of the six owners of SoCal promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, collectively known as the "PWG Six". At PWG's debut show on July 26, 2003, Super Dragon defeated M-Dogg 20. The next two PWG shows featured the Badass Mother 3000 tournament to determine the first PWG Championship. Super Dragon got to the semifinals, but was eliminated by Joey Ryan. In 2004, PWG held another tournament, the Tango & Cash Invitational to crown tag team champions. This time, Super Dragon made it to the finals with partner American Dragon, but lost to the team of Homicide and B-Boy.

Super Dragon was one of the original members of the S.B.S. stable along with Disco Machine and Excalibur. At PWG...The Musical, Dragon and Excalibur won the tag team titles from Chris Bosh and Quicksilver. They became the first team to successfully defend the titles, but later lost them to Joey Ryan and Scott Lost. At Free Admission (Just Kidding), Super Dragon beat Frankie Kazarian to win the PWG Championship. He defended the title against Samoa Joe, Homicide, Kevin Steen, and others, and lost it to AJ Styles at All Star Weekend - Night Two.

At Uncanny X-Mas after Dragon's match with Jonny Storm, a second Super Dragon came to the ring and attacked the real Super Dragon by delivering some of Super Dragon's signature moves. This man attacked again at All Nude Review, and just a few months later at Jason Takes PWG, Excalibur revealed himself as the mastermind of the attacks and defeated Super Dragon in a Guerrilla Warfare match with help from Kevin Steen, who was the second Super Dragon. Excalibur and Disco Machine kicked Dragon out of S.B.S. and replaced him with Steen. This began a feud between Steen and Dragon. At Chanukah Chaos (The C's Are Silent), Kevin Steen (who had won the PWG Championship from AJ Styles), was defending the title against Joey Ryan. During the match, Super Dragon came out and gave Steen two Psycho Drivers, causing him to lose the title. The feud ended in a Guerrilla Warfare match, in which Super Dragon came out victorious.

Super Dragon was forced to team with Davey Richards to challenge for the tag team titles against El Generico and Human Tornado at After School Special. Working well together as a team, Dragon and Richards managed to win the titles. They had a dominant reign and defeated many teams, such as Excalibur and Disco Machine, Cape Fear, Los Luchas, Kings of Wrestling, Roderick Strong and Jack Evans, and A. J. Styles and Christopher Daniels. Scott Lost and Chris Bosh defeated them for the titles at Enchantment Under The Sea. That night, Joey Ryan gave Super Dragon a Moustache Ride through a stack of tables and put him out of action.

Super Dragon returned to PWG on September 2nd as a participant in the Battle of Los Angeles tournament. On the first night, he defeated Necro Butcher, and on the second, he defeated Frankie Kazarian and Jack Evans. He advanced to the finals, but was unable to compete in the finals due to injuries he sustained in the previous night. Davey Richards would go on to win the tournament, but instead of wanting a World title shot, he wanted a rematch for the tag titles. The match was set to take place at Self Titled, but a conflict prevented Richards from being at the show. Instead of waiting for Richards to return, Super Dragon chose B-Boy as his partner and they went on to defeat Chris Bosh and Scott Lost for the championship. On November 17, 2006, Richards won the PWG World Tag Team Championship for a second time, teaming up with Roderick Strong to defeat the champions, B-Boy and Super Dragon. The next night, in the Main Event of the show, the duo lost the belt to the men they'd won them from. The match also included the Kings of Wrestling, as well as the team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. Dragon won the match for his team after a Psycho Driver on Richards, showing the beginning signs of a feud between the two.

Soon after, Dragon and B-Boy lost the tag team titles to Cape Fear, and split as a tag team for the time being. Since then, Dragon has suffered defeats at the hands of Ronin in a singles match, and a pinfall by Los Luchas in a tag team match. Dragon broke his ankle, He returned at All Star Weekend V during a match between Arrogance and Roderick Strong & Jack Evans when he and Davey Richards came out and attacked everyone and announced that Super Dragon will be Davey's partner for the tag tournament.

Noticeable Accomplishments:
PWG Championship (1 time)
PWG World Tag Team Championship (4 times)
CZW World Heavyweight Championship (1 time)

*Thoughts* Super Dragon is honestly a legend on the independent circuit. Without him there would probably be no PWG so I'm paying homage by naming him the independent wrestler of the week. Super Dragon is one of the most loved/hated indy wrestlers out there. He is a heat drawing machine. He has a certain heel attitude that nobody will ever match, including Chuck Taylor.

Davey Richards

03.jpg

Height & Weight: 5'8 202 lbs
Trained by: Tony Kozina
Debut: June 2004
Finishing Move: Alarm Clock/G2S 2.0, Shooting Star Press

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

Davey Richards debuted in 2004. In 2005, he began wrestling for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, where he unmasked Puma. He would go on to face T.J. Perkins (the former Puma) in one-on-one as well as tag team contests. Richards also competed against such stars as Rocky Romero and Quicksilver. In October 2005, Richards teamed up with Super Dragon to win the PWG Tag Team Titles. They held the titles for many months, defeating teams such as Disco Machine and Excalibur, El Generico and Quicksilver, Los Luchas, the Kings of Wrestling, Arrogance, and Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles. They finally lost the titles to Arrogance (Chris Bosh and Scott Lost) in May 2006. On September 3, 2006 he became PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2006 tournament champion by defeating CIMA from Japan's Dragon Gate promotion in the finals. Davey Richards has stated that his goal in wrestling is to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship.

On April 8, Richards won the 2006 Super 8 tournament. He defeated Scott Lost, Milano Collection AT, and Charlie Haas. After winning this tournament, Richards began competing in many different organizations, including NWA Anarchy, Full Impact Pro, and Ring of Honor.

On November 17, 2006, Richards won the PWG World Tag Team Championship for a second time, teaming up with Roderick Strong to defeat the champions, B-Boy and Super Dragon. The next night, in the main event of the show, the duo lost the belt to the men they'd won them from.

Ring of Honor

At Destiny on June 3, 2006, Richards made his ROH debut, defeating Jimmy Rave. This loss upset Jimmy Rave, who challenged Davey to a rematch at In Your Face, but under dangerous circumstances. The pre-match ritual of fans throwing toilet paper at Rave turned dangerous when one roll hit the chandelier above the ring, breaking some glass that scattered in the ring. Nevertheless, the two wrestled on that glass, resulting in numerous cuts on both men's bodies.

Soon after debuting in ROH, Richards was chosen as the American protégé of KENTA, a junior heavyweight from the Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH. On August 4, the two teamed together to face the Briscoe Brothers; Richards was pinned after a Spike Jay Driller. The next night, Richards faced his mentor in a one-on-one match at Fight of the Century; he was unable to secure a victory, ultimately falling victim to KENTA's go 2 sleep.

In early 2007, Roderick Strong turned on former Generation Next partner Austin Aries with the help of Richards. Together, the two formed the No Remorse Corps, later joined by Rocky Romero. The No Remorse Corps is involved in a feud with Aries's faction The Resilience.

On June 14, 2007, ROH announced in their Newswire that Richards would be making his debut in Japan on June 25 as a representative of ROH on a three week tour with Pro Wrestling NOAH. Davey Richards is teaming with 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson in Pro Wrestling NOAHs NTV Jr Heavyweight Cup.

Notable Accomplishments:
PWG World Tag Team Championship (2 times)
PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2006 champion

KENTA & Richards vs The Briscoes
http://www.dailymotion.com/relevanc...s/video/xys80_kentarichards-vs-briscoes_sport

*Thoughts* Davey Richards is one of my favorite young wrestlers at the moment. Some people say his style of wrestling is too close to KENTA's, hell some people call him the American version of KENTA. IMO while Davey Richards and KENTA have many similarities, They are very different wrestlers. KENTA arsenal is more based on striking. Davey Richards is a great striker, but I feel he has a more mat based technical style. He actually reminds me of Austin Aries. I think Richards has a great chance of competing in WWE or TNA based on skill alone, the only problem I could think of would be his height.

This week "Independent Wrestler of The Week" Is none other than....Chuck Taylor!

Chuck_Taylor.gif

Height: 6'1
Weight: 185 lbs.
Hometown: Raccoon City, KY
Theme: Hey Sandy - Polaris (The Adventures of Pete & Pete)

Signature Moves
#Awful Waffle/Omega Driver (reverse bodyslam piledriver)
# Running Awful Waffle/Omega Driver

Notable Accomplishments
# Young Lions Cup V Tournament Winner
# Young Lions Cup Champion
# IWA: Mid-South Heavyweight Champion

BIO:
Chuck Taylor debuted in CHIKARA at the 2006 Young Lions Cup, and has been a regular fixture ever since. A long-time regular in the lower-down Midwest indies and "backyard" federations, Chuck and his longtime rival/tag team partner Ricochet broke out with their impressive showings in IWA: Mid-South. It was the strength of those performances that brought them to CHIKARA, as Taylor defeated Ricochet in the first round of the YLC tournament. However, they really impressed on their second night in, where Taylor (and Cloudy) defeated Ricochet (and Player Uno) in a show-stealing tag team match that had the crowd on their feet. A few months would pass, but towards the end of 2006 they returned, except this time Chuck was boasting about his newly-won IWA:MS World Title. With an inflated ego causing him to threaten the elderly and children in his interviews, there was no mistake: Chuck Taylor was a rudo. However, this didn't hinder him, as he went on to earn wins over Ricochet again, and even CHIKARA veteran Eddie Kingston. Before the 2007 season kicked off, Team F.I.S.T. announced Taylor as the newest member of the Kings of Wrestling, and the man who would replace Chris Hero in their trio (after F.I.S.T. "benched" their mentor) for the new King of Trios tournament.

Luck did not go in the favour of the Kings on this occasion, as their arrogance in accepting singles matches on nights off affected them greatly. After advancing to the third night, they were eliminated by Yoshiaki Yago, MIYAWAKI and KUDO. Taylor climbed to the top of the "flippy little boys" on April 22nd 2007 in Philadelphia, first defeating Pac, Ricochet and Retail Dragon in a 4-Way, then overcoming Lince Dorado - all without doing a single flip. The Kings stable divided into two weeks after that show: Akuma, Icarus and Chuck, and Hero, Larry Sweeney, and the reluctant partner Claudio Castagnoli, only to reform under the persuasion of new members Max Boyer and Mitch Ryder at the Aniversario! event. Gaining momentum from the new union, Chuck would continue his winning ways by thrashing the competition en route to becoming the seventh Young Lions Cup in CHIKARA history, defeating who else but Ricochet in the final with his new running Omega Driver, also putting away former champion Arik Cannon in non-tournament action with the standard variation of that very same move.

Thoughts: Chuck Taylor is one of the guys I believe has a bright future in professional wrestling. He has the talent, and the ability to compete in one of the "Big" promotions right now. He hasn't been wrestling for a large amount of time, but I'm already impressed with his athleticism and his ability to generate heat. He's a natural heel, which is something wrestling lacks at the moment. He can also cut great promo's, and his attitude is amusing, I'm sure all of you have seen the "Chuck Taylor vs Kids" video's by now. It's only a matter of time before Chuck Taylor (the wrestler) becomes a household name.

Chuck Taylor > Your Life.

Iam really impressed with this guy from what i've seen, i love he's promos they have good comical spin to them and he's ring work is very solid; i really dig his style.
Defiantly a wrestler to watch in the near future iam kinda surprised ROH hasn't already snapped him up, also don't surprised to see on the mainstream promotions pick him up.

This weeks Independent Wrestler Of The Week is one half of Team F.I.S.T. & part of The Kings Of Wrestling...Gran Akuma

Gran_Akuma.gif

Height: 5'10''
Weight: 192 lbs.
Hometown: Afar
Trainers: Mike Quackenbush, Reckless Youth
Debut: October 12th 2002 (St. John's, Allentown, PA)
Finisher: Yoshi Tonic (sunset flip powerbomb)
Theme: Hell "Disturbed" http://www.sendspace.com/file/cf3gss

Gran Akuma debuted in CHIKARA in 2003 as a member of the second class of CHIKARA students, and soon after formed the team of F.I.S.T. with the newly unmasked Icarus, a team that remains the longest standing in CHIKARA history on a regular basis, perhaps second behind the occasionally-teaming Black T-Shirt Squad. Initially tecnicos, the two often teamed with their mentor Mike Quackenbush, but in 2005, frustrated by a lack of success in battles against Men@Work - Mr. ZERO and Shane Storm - the two snapped and joined the new Kings of Wrestling stable with Chris Hero, Arik Cannon and Claudio Castagnoli. Akuma became even nastier, as did Icarus, but while Icarus became more inclined to outbursts of rage and anger, Akuma bottled it all up, brooding in the background behind his mask. On a roll, Akuma would end up winning the 2005 Torneo Cibernetico, breaking Shane Storm's nose with a brutal kick and pinning him with a second rope Yoshi Tonic, but Storm would gain vengeance the next month when he defeated Akuma in a Mask vs. Mask Match to take Akuma's hood and reveal his face to the world. This may have done more harm than good, driving Akuma even closer to the edge, and the situation was not aided when Jigsaw took Icarus' hair. Embarrassed by misfortune, with big losses in the past year, Akuma and Icarus smashed through the competition en route to victories at From Zero To Hero (& Castagnoli) and Brick, the latter over their friends Hero and Castagnoli, earning them the coveted CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas. Following the victory, Hero kicked Claudio out of the Kings stable, but Akuma and Icarus seized control, ousting Hero from the King of Trios tournament in favour of their handpicked man for the group: Chuck Taylor, showing how much championship gold rejuvenated their injured egos.

Luck did not go in the favour of the Kings on this occasion, as their arrogance in accepting singles matches on nights off affected them greatly. After advancing to the third night, they were eliminated by Yoshiaki Yago, MIYAWAKI and KUDO, in a loss that did little to show Hero that his stablemates were up to the task when alone. At Aniversario weekend, there were some major developments in the Kings of Wrestling, as Akuma and Icarus trumped Hero and recruited Canadian Max Boyer to the group, while Hero, along with his new pal Larry Sweeney and reluctant partner Claudio Castagnoli, recruited Mitch Ryder. Following a 6-Man at the Philadelphia Aniversario show, it was agreed that the two units would merge into one giant Kings of Wrestling stable, making them more powerful than ever. It was around this time that Akuma made his Ring of Honor debut, impressing many with his exciting arsenal of kicks. He also became a regular at ROH's sibling promotion Full Impact Pro down in Florida. In both promotions he formed a brief tandem with CHIKARA enemy Hallowicked.

Notable Accomplishments:
CHIKARA Campeon de Parejas (w/Icarus)

*Thoughts* I like Gran Akuma as a wrestler. I think he's a talented striker, and he's currently a part of my favorite tag team, but I just cant see Akuma achieving much after Independent wrestling. He seems to lack personality. He plays the "mysterious" character very well, but I just cant see him in a huge company. He's competed in ROH before, and was pretty impressive, so maybe we'll see him back in the future, but at the moment I believe Chikara is his best fit.
