BIO
Icarus debuted under his original name, Ichabod Slayne, on the very first CHIKARA show, and has been a mainstay on the majority of the events ever since, rarely missing one over the years. Initially he was a dark, brooding character, a masked member of Blind Rage's Night Shift along with Hallowicked. That relationship did not last too long, with Slayne losing a match where he had to wear a dress, and soon after losing a Hair vs. Mask Match to Rage. Unmasked and free of the stigma brought about by the association with the Night Shift, Slayne changed his name to Icarus, a fresh-faced tecnico. He began teaming with silent, masked assassin Gran Akuma as the popular Team F.I.S.T., fan favourites for many years who would often team with their trainer Mike Quackenbush to face Icarus' former friends. However, in 2005, frustrated by a lack of success in battles against Men@Work - Mr. ZERO and Shane Storm - the two snapped and joined the new Kings of Wrestling stable with Chris Hero, Arik Cannon and Claudio Castagnoli. In the process, Icarus put Jolly Roger out permanently and ZERO out for a while with a neck injury, and months later, at the 2006 Tag World Grand Prix, they finished the job and Icarus sent ZERO into retirement with a tornado pedigree onto the wooden venue floor. Developing a new mean streak never seen before, Icarus also became arrogant and cocky, and at The Crushing Weight Of Mainstream Ignorance that bit him in the behind as Roger and ZERO returned for one night only to shave him bald after a loss to Jigsaw. Embarrassed by the loss of his hair and of his mask, Icarus somehow became even meaner, and, alongside Akuma, smashed through the competition en route to victories at From Zero To Hero (& Castagnoli) and Brick, the latter over their friends Hero and Castagnoli, earning them the coveted CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas. Following the victory, Hero kicked Claudio out of the Kings stable, but Akuma and Icarus seized control, ousting Hero from the King of Trios tournament in favour of their handpicked man for the group: Chuck Taylor, showing how much championship gold rejuvenated their injured egos.

Luck did not go in the favour of the Kings on this occasion, as their arrogance in accepting singles matches on nights off affected them greatly. After advancing to the third night, they were eliminated by Yoshiaki Yago, MIYAWAKI and KUDO, in a loss that did little to show Hero that his stablemates were up to the task when alone. At Aniversario weekend, there were some major developments in the Kings of Wrestling, as Akuma and Icarus trumped Hero and recruited Canadian Max Boyer to the group, while Hero, along with his new pal Larry Sweeney and reluctant partner Claudio Castagnoli, recruited Mitch Ryder. Following a 6-Man at the Philadelphia Aniversario show, it was agreed that the two units would merge into one giant Kings of Wrestling stable, making them more powerful than ever.

Notable Accomplishments:
CHIKARA Campeon de Parejas (w/Gran Akuma)

*Thoughts* Due to his ability to generate natural heat, and his overall persona, I think Icarus may have a future in wrestling. He needs to develop his body. He's not the most talented wrestlers by any means, but he does enough to get buy. Gran Akuma is definitely the better wrestler of the two. Icarus lacks versatility, IMO Tag Team is his best fit because it hides his weakness which is versatility.
