That's the thing though. He doesn't have to. He is definitely plenty capable of being over without it, as he's been one of their hottest guys for several years. Again, I chalk this up to Impact wanting that short term buzz to save face for no big debuts at BFG. Maybe it'll all work itself out in the end but I can't say I think Impact are putting their best foot forward on this one.

I don't think bringing up outside people is the worst tho, sounded meh to me on paper but if it's literally just a 10 second part of a 5 minute promo then spoilers probably just blew it out of proportion. Don Callis been name dropping people everywhere past and present that Kenny is better than on Impact all year lol

Yeah I agree with this as well. No one in the world thinks Impact is anywhere near WWE or AEW so I don't think Impact really has anything to lose by referencing bigger companies, especially considering their momentum right now is basically zero anyways. Probably could have done without it, but I guess it won't be detrimental either most likely.

Yeah so I just watched the Moose promo and it was literally just him saying he was the best champion in wrestling so he mentioned nicknames of other champions didn't even say their actually names, just "Elite" "Whatever Tribe your Chief belongs to" etc. lmao the only weird one I think is that he said THE BOSS when Sasha isn't a champion currently lol

Having now seen the promo as well, I'm reminded how mediocre at best Moose is on the mic. He's definitely still over despite that. But, can't help feeling like you shouldn't be having one of your weaker talkers sending out these shots.
