I am doing this seeing there was a bit of discussion happening with the genre of music RAW & Smackdown tends to use. Currently Nickelback and Green Day are the theme songs for RAW & Smackdown. With WWE using Flo Rida and Kevin Rudolf as of late, do you see it being changed into hip-hop in the near future?

What songs would you use for RAW and Smackdown?

I will post mine after a bit of discussion is used.

In the other thread about the production/entrance sets I suggested WWE ditch the theme music they have now for Raw and Smackdown and go back to something less mainstream. Not because I'm against the mainstream or anything like that, but because bands generally not featured on the radio tend to have a more... dangerous sound. Thicker, heavier and less conventional.

The music Raw was using up until Papa Roach was right on. We need that kind of sound back for Raw. As for Smackdown, same thing bit a little more energetic since that's usually been a theme of the show in terms of its image. Shinedown's "Cry For Help" has always been a perfect candidate imo.

I was about to say this in the other thread but I guess I'll do so here.

There are these awesome video mixes from around 1999 with Wu Tang Clan that WWE put out. I'm trying to find the one that highlighted the Austin/Trips feud going into No Mercy that year but I don't think it's on Youtube.

I'll just show one of the songs that I think was used.

Don't follow a lot of new rock, mainly just electronica which doesn't fit with wrestling at all.

"Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue is perfect for Raw, but WWE likes to use new songs for show themes.

Kill fucking Nickelback though. And I don't mean just that song.

That Wu Tang track is awesome, but I couldn't see it working on the show at all tbh. And I say that as a mostly hip hop and electronic person.

I think I'll look up the actual tracks tonight. They are somewhere in my Triple H DVDs. I think they were only shown on some recap show.

I wish I knew how to rip things.

Totally need a symphony theme. Wrestling needs more of them.

Godsmack Disturbed Saliva seems to have been their sound since the 90s so I'd lean towards them. I think if they used hip hop as a main theme it wouldn't go over as well. Most entrances are still closer to a rock metal type sound.

Cannot think of any particular songs really but I wouldn't mind Limp Bizkit.

Maybe a more modern version of Limp Bizkit if it exists. I don't think Bizkit makes things cool anymore.

Also, I hear a new Offspring album is coming out soon. They have a sound I could imagine for Smackdown.
