The vast majority of wrestling fans (except for small children under the age of 4-5) know wrestling is 'fake', so I could never be a mark again in that sense. There are so many things that make it obvious wrestling is fake, that the show is much more enjoyable knowing it's not real.

Please, show some respect. The proper word is scripted.

All marks are sheep, that's why WWE can push who they want on to them. Just because I question the questions it doesn't mean I don't understand the concept :pity:.

More reasons for me to say no way to becoming a mark. Also I'd probably boo Ambrose if I was a mark, even if that's what a heel is meant to get I'd feel like I'm dying inside.

smh

No, you wouldn't die inside because everything you knew about wrestling as a smark is no more.

Besides, just because you thought wrestling was real wouldn't suddenly mean you liked babyfaces and hated heels. You continue to tie in the aspects of being a child fan in with not knowing wrestling is scripted. Would I suddenly hate DZ if I no longer understood the aspects of kayfabe? No, I would still love him because he is entertaining and awesome regardless of if I thought the show was scripted or not.

For arguments sake let's say you are a closet wrestling fan (I am anyway lmao) and you don't go about your everyday life discussing it with people

This discussion is simply for the sake of your enjoyment of wrestling while you are watching a show

If that's the case I'd choose to be a mark. Much more fun to watch it as one.

Yes, so done with WWE currently but when I was a mark loved it, haven't watched Raw in weeks, never missed it before though. So yeah I'd go back if I could.

Well, I was always aware that wrestling was predetermined and shit, so my "mark" days were pretty much never checking anything else besides the actual shows airing and rarely WWE.com. That, along with being less critical with in-ring mechanics for lack of a better phrase. I would say for the most part my most fun watching wrestling was during those days but that was more because my dad actually watched Raw with me back then and Smackdown was just good stuff back then (think 2006, I loved the Kane/Taker vs. MVP/Kennedy feud for [the main] example). Also, my opinions on wrestlers never changed when I started paying attention to the business side or the background of wrestling.

So would I? Hell no! I can still enjoy wrestling as much as I did back then if the quality of the show is good enough to, like 2011 for The Summer Of Punk and post had some of my favorite stuff out of all my relatively short time of watching wrestling. Besides, I love discussing wrestling in an intelligent fashion in the booking/business side of things, with of course a pinch of personal bias (well, probably more than a pinch). I've actually had a ton of fond memories debating whether or not WWE is booking something correctly, or debating how WWE should book something; stuff like that. And I've enjoyed those just as much as some wrestling. Especially since debating wrestling booking is something I can do when WWE just generally isn't interesting me.

Plus, while getting into the more personal opinion discussions, top ten lists of say top high flyers or something like that, has lead me to go out of my way and check out those matches. I'm rambling on and on and I don't even think I'm articulating this very well so I'm going to wrap things up with a "no, I wouldn't want to be zapped by the MIB".

I don't know, I was never a mark. The first thing that people say when you watch wrestling here is "you know it's fake, right?", so from the beggining I knew it was fake. Although I do enjoy being a smark.
