According to The Wrestling Observer, Raw drew a 3.1 rating for last night's 3 hour draft special, while iMPACT! drew a paltry 0.5 rating. While RAW's number is nothing to gloat over, TNA's numbers are painful.

Damn. That's like Impact on Fox Sports Net rating bad. If that doesn't tell TNA that they should fix their shit nothing will.

OUCH.

Like I said before, ratings don't mean anything to me and shouldn't really mean anything to the fans, unless you really want to laugh your ass off.

Good for TNA:

-WWE had two weeks to hype the Draft, that DOES factor into the ratings I'm sure

Bad for TNA:

-The first hour of 3 hour RAW episodes usually do awful numbers, TNA didn't capitalize

-Lots of major stars were drafted to RAW, meaning there are now fresh feuds and fresh matches.

TNA is fucked.

1. It was going up against THE DRAFT
2. It was raped by the SAME TIMESLOT as the draft
3. It was taped

I was actually expecting this rating. If next week isn't above .8 or so, then yes, this would be an accurate statement.

Did you hear Dave Meltzer's show earlier today? He said TNA put up a poll (probably on polldaddy again, lol) asking whether or not fans could tell the difference between live/taped.

12% said they could tell the difference.

The only excuse TNA has is that WWE hyped up the Draft for two solid weeks.

And that's not even an excuse. WWE basically gave TNA a heads up so they could step their game up come draft night.

The draft show was not even that good. If Impact was of any sort of quality, I would have been more than willing to watch it for more than just during WWE commercials and the women's match.

It doesn't matter if you can tell while watching it. It's the fact that YOU KNOW THE RESULTS BEFORE THE FUCKING SHOW. Just takes all the fun out of watching it.

Wasn't the date of the Draft common knowledge a month or so in advance? TNA has had ample time to not only stack this past Monday's Impact, but also make it a live show. What, they can't have two live shows in a row?

TNA did nothing to draw fans away from the Draft and now they get to reap the results - a .05. They deserve no sympathy or excuses and they get neither from me.

Pff, we're acting as if TNA getting low ratings is something new. They broke the habit once...last week, with a damn 1.0, which isn't impresing now that we're talking about it. They have been getting 0.7 and 0.8, so it isnt exactly shocking, and considering the cliffhanger for next week is what they do with Ric Flair's Hall of Fame ring, I am guessing ratings will not improve.

RVD is not Hulk Hogan (when he was fighting), The Rock, Austin, etc. BUT he's a bigger name than AJ Styles, Pope, Wolfe or any other TNA originals (at this point).

Think of this... at one point RAW was pathetic and had NO competition, yet USA Network stuck with them.
Right now, Impact is awesome but is up against a HUGE competition. If Spike is smart, they'll stick with them.

The only "Original" you named was AJ lol, but I digress.

Yeah, the ratings were bad. But do ratings really matter all that much? I mean on January 4th Raw crushed Impact in the ratings, but other then the Bret Hart return nothing was all that good on Raw that night. Same goes for the March 8th I think it was episode of Raw. It sucked and Impact was much better by comparison.
